Previously on MCPvP I (and many other players) wanted a way for builders a way to import maps into minecraftbuild to allow creation of gamemode maps to be easier for some of us, but importing maps directly to the server have major risks as well and may be too complicated to filter, that is why I once suggested the possibility for players to have a personal schematic folder for minecraftbuild where players can import and export schematics.

Again I agree that schematics also have risks on their own, but I think if a filter was added during the upload of the files, this could work well.

An exemple of a filter would be:

    - Schematics are limted to X dimensions (Obviously, we dont want server to crash server)
    - Schematics cannot exceed 30Ko (Schematics are pretty small files, so a file going larger then that could be suspicious, a gamemode map could fit in 30Ko)
    - Commands Blocks to be removed or denied during upload (Should be self-explained)
    - Mob Spawners to be removed or denied during upload (Being someone that made use of spawners a lot, I can tell they could do some damage)
    - Chest, Traped Chest, Dispencer, Dropper, Hopper, Furnace to be filtered (no item allowed) or denied during upload (This would prevent unwanted items to go on the server)
    - No entity allowed (Better to stay safe)
    - An amount limit to certain blocks such as portal.

Some restrictions could be removed for trusted ranks/moderators.
If it still feels unsafe to let this option to any builder, then maybe at least a trusted rank could have it.

Would be a nice option to have if we can get it right, but why not just build on the server?

Regardless, I'll bring it up once everything's settled and we have all the basics out of the way.

Certain things you cannot achieve/do on build that require other tools than WorldEdit. An exemple could be a perfect snow shape, ability to build with custom NBT, anility to import something you made in the past and want to use for a map, access to VoxelSniper or the simple ability to build outside of the build server

While I do think this would be useful, it would take away from the integrity of build. Right now, a map on build with only you as an owner is sort of a symbol that you built this. If we allow outside builds, then that integrity gets taken away, and there will be skeptics in every map submission thread, rank application (if those will be around), and probably people who teleport saying that you copied. Also, it will increase people who do copy builds from 0% to 2-3%. The solution, I believe, is to regulate the schematics being included onto the server.

tl;dr - good idea for if it was heavily regulated.
