    I really don't get this.

Today, I was playing KitBrawl with some of my MCPVP friends.

There was a clear hacker running around, getting killstreaks like crazy. Most people complained about it.
There was a SMOD online, @Lord_Roke.

After the hacker getting a 24ks, I asked Roke why isn't he banning the hackers.
    I got no answer.
Then, more people complained about it, expecially @matt576. Roke said, "We can't ban off people accusing of hacks, and public accusing of hacks is not allowed."
I could understand that, but it was mooore then obvious he was hacking. Half of the server complained, and I bet Roke fought him too.
He said "Report hackers on report.brawl.com or PM me them." Yet the hacker, his name was ViggoPVP_isOG, was still not banned.
We kept on complaining, until Roke said the best excuse ever seen.
"If I didn't have to chat, I'd be actually looking for hackers."
I had a good laugh on this, but okay...

At this time, I already reported the hacker, and PM'd Roke the name. After a long fight, he finally got banned.

My question is, who made this up this stupid rule of "Public accusing of hacks is not allowed". It's the stupidest thing. Today, I met the same hacker that was on yesterday (the video is rendering).
This rule doesn't allow MODS to do their job, and is contradicting the purpose of MODS.

Please change this. Thanks for your time.

We invented this rule because hack accusations are mostly made for wrong reasons, e. g. only because someone killed a player and the player is angry. These accusations also started many flame wars.

About your story: I did go around on KitPvP looking for hackers, however, I never ran into the player you mentioned. I don't know why, maybe he was avoiding me, just take it as fact.
Many players started to accuse him of hacking and rant how the staff did nothing, so I told them to calm down, report the hackers in PMs to a staff members or on our report page. Multiple players were arguing with me so I really didn't come to go and look at the players being reported in PMs, this was the point where I said this:
I don't know what you feel like is so funny about this, but moderating chat is a staff duty just like catching hackers, so from my view this makes sense.
Later on you said you reported the player with proof, so I looked at it and banned the player because he was clearly hacking in the video proof.

In conclusion, we would appreciate if you could simply report players in PMs to staff instead of publicy accusing him. Also, we will never ban players only because multiple players are saying they hack. So please leave us some time to check if they really hack and don't complaing all the time.

I will leave this thread open, so you can discuss if the rule "No hack accusations" makes sense or not. Please be respectful and don't flame.

Thanks for clearing this up. We, MCPVP'ers, are used to different types of reporting hackers.
    Sorry for my outburst.

The main reason why publicly accusing players of hacks isn't allowed is because usually it's just some person raging over being killed. This raging usually leads to an argument which only makes things worse. 99% of hacusations are false, and therefore not usually listened to.

    Example:
    Randyplayerson1: *gets killed*
    Randyplayerson1: "OMG HACKER GET BANNED"
    Supposedhacker1337: "I just killed you."
Randyplayerson1: "NO, HACKS. REC EZ BAN"
Halftheserver: "Yeah, he hacks! GET BANNED."
Supposedhacker1337: "No, your just bad. I'm a pro."
    Randyplayerson1: *rages incessantly*
    Halftheserver: *Starts harassing Supposedhacker1337*
    etc

And then the whole server turns into a hackusation warzone. Nobody wants this. It's better to either use /tell to tell a mod that you think somebody is hacking, and ask that they go check things out. If you are going to ask, do it privately. That way the server won't light on fire and the hacker won't know that they are being suspected of hacking. Even better, record the hacker silently and report him/her.

This is a great thread to show how people starts talking after an hackaccusations have been made. I think I had one of the servers to moderate where people nearly always made hackaccusations. And as RandomCitizen said: "99 percent of these are false". I think Roke did the right thing. Please just report the player and don't say "OMG HACKER REC!".

Message to all the new MCPVPers, this is how Brawl unfortunately works most of the time. Random hit it on the head that 99% of hackusations are false, even when half the server flares up.

i gotta thank u all for ur replies, and tbh it kinda works the same way with us, as far as i remember, the only difference is we do publicly say that someone hacks, and if the person saying it is reputable in our community, anyone with mod connections tries to get a mod online to look into it. it usually works xD. we record and post too but i dont think that method was very effective for us.

and i agree with teh dont publicly accuse thing. a lot of hackers would just turn it off when the mod logged in and wouldnt get banned. i just think the difference is that you guys record while we tell everyone so that whoever has a mod connection and bring a mod online.

i like the no hack accusations because a lot of the time the accusations are false, i personally have been a mod on a different kitpvp server, and i can confirm that about 8 times out of 10 when a play said "oh [playername] is so hacking!!" that player wasn't really hacking.
and that was on a smaller kitpvp server, so on a server this large odds are they get a lot more hackers, if the mods had to check every hack accusations in every single brawl gamemode then the mods would have much less time to do other things.
so in my opinion the "no public hack accusations" should stay a rule.

I appreciate all the work our mods do.

Let's face it they are human and are not on 24-7. Situations like this one will slip through the cracks. Report it like @Lord_Roke stated and move on.

There are some slacker mods but they usually get weeded out.

Hackusating is serious, just report it.

    Couldn't you have... teleported?

Yes, but he WAS on, that's what this thread is about.

There should be an HRC system on here... that was very effective.

I never really had a problem with fake hackusations. Just laugh it off, in fact I take it as a compliment.
