A NEW kind of ray nerf!

    THIS NERF WOULD BE NOTHING LIKE ANYTHING SUGGESTED BEFORE
    THERE IS NO FIRERATE CHANGE, DAMAGE CHANGE, REMOVING IT FROM INFECT ETC.
    I think that making the raygun able to hit YOU but not your teammates (and enemies, of course :v) would be a balanced nerf. It would prevent using it at close ranges and would have it be limited to use as a sniper. This nerf is balanced.

    I'm talking about directly hitting someone else to get a single kill. You're basically describing the takeaway of splash damage. That's how I interpreted it, at least.

    But don't people already camp choke points in infected? This would just encourage distant play in infected, leading to more difficulty for the zombies.

    I would agree with this,
    That would actually be kinda funny. One person with raygun will basically kill all of the people on his team...without any competition...

    I like this idea.. but there is one problem:
    People can shotblock those rays ON PURPOSE. this will make them die since the bullet will hit them, not damge them, but damage the user who shot the ray, most likely killing them.

    Unless if we make it that the raygun PASSES through teammates, this will be a problem.

    you shoot up in the air with a gun that shoots bullets and wait for them to come down and hope they hit you.

    But this is the ray gun.
    I understand that part, but the ray-gun doesn't have bullets, sot hey can't come back down and hit you.

    I understand this, but since when have you ever thought to yourself in infect "Dammit, another ray-gun camper died!"
    And also, this is another way in which it makes ray more tactical to use. It limits the options for where you can stand and camp in infect or, for that matter, TDM. In this way, this nerf is a good way to nerf it. It does not nerf damage or firerate or anything, but makes it a tactical weapon that requires thought to use.

    This doesn't mean that there won't be people who do that. This is mc-war. people will do anything to get a lot of kills, even going as far as to breaking the rules or getting teammates killed so they can get more kills.

    The only way to prevent this if is the beam can not hit other teammates. this is ,while still hard , possible to do and will work in the favour of this idea, and the people who use raygun and don't want to get themselves killed by someone who trolls them by standing infront of them.

    If that is possible, it would be great.

    I agree with this, but if a ray-gunner finds a secluded spot, they won't die. And as I get what you're saying, the person who blocks the shot won't get a kill. But yes, if the ray-gun were coded to go through teammates that would be amazing. It would add a slight buff and a slightly bigger nerf so that everyone can be happy ^-^

    But look at the rest of the video. To implement this idea would leave Ray-gunners with only 1 option: to camp choke points. This wouldn't help.

    Camping choke points would be even worse.
    Then they'd be hit with virtually every shot they take.
    Also, if a zombie gets close the camper can die from shooting them.

    1. No? You can camp choke points from like 50 blocks away.
