    Just need a quick explanation on what this "Helper" is. Thanks.

    The Helper's main job is to simply assist other players through chat, Teamspeak and also the forums, hence it's name. If they run into any trouble that they can't handle such as someone breaking rules, then they can contact a moderator or above to assist them. The Helper rank will be easier to obtain due to the very low disciplinary power.

    So, let's say I were to apply for staff. Would I be accepted to helper or moderator? Or would our staff manager decide on which rank I would be promoted to?

    You will not be able to apply for helper. They will be chosen. You can still, however, apply for moderator.
