Please note that there might be mistakes because I'm not the best at world edit. I will add pictures soon as I can. These are only basic commands so if you are an advanced world edit person, this guide is not for you. Without further ado, here is the guide of world edit

    The Wand
The wand appears to be a wooden axe and this tool is the most important tool in world edit. It is use
d to define an area or space you want to use world edit in.

    Left click: position 1
    Right click: position 2

To enable the wand, do //wand

    Commands
After selecting a region selection, you could do all sorts of commands to help with your building

This command sets blocks in the region you have selected. You could choose whatever block you want the region selected to be. You could choose to set multiple blocks. If you do, the block arrangement will be completely random.

    To enable do //set (block)
To use multiple blocks do //set (block),(block) *

This command replaces blocks in the region you selected. Like the //set command, you could choose to replace multiple blocks and the arrangement will be random.

To enable do //replace (block) (block you're replacing)
    To replace multiple blocks do //replace (block),(block) (block you're replacing),(block you're replacing)
*If you want to replace or set multiple blocks, it could be as many as you like, as long as it is two or above.

This command will allow users to copy or cut and paste blocks from one place to another.

When you do //copy, the region selected will be copied and put into your clipboard until you copy or cut something else.

When you do //cut, the region selected will be deleted but put into your clipboard until you copy or cut something else.

If you want to change the clipboard around a bit, do //flip. //flip will flip your clipboard towards the direction you're facing. EG: north, south, east, west, up, down

Another way to change the clipboard is doing //rotate. Using, //rotate will rotate your clipboard by the angle you want. EG: //rotate 90 this will rotate your clipboard by 90 degrees.

After you are done with tweaking the clipboard (optional), perform the command //paste, which will paste the clipboard to your desired location.

Note: when you copy or cut something, stand right in front of the region. So when you paste the clipboard, it will paste right in front of you. If you stand 30 blocks away from the selected region and copy it, when you paste the clipboard, it will be pasted 30 blocks away from you.

This command will allow you move blocks up, down, north, east, south and west. If you accidentally placed blocks in the wrong location and it is hard to destroy and remake, you can easily move it by doing //move. //move lets you move blocks wherever you want wherever you're facing. You can also choose how many blocks you want to move the selected region by. EG: //move 20

This command allows you to stack blocks. Just like the //move command, you can stack it to any direction you want it to be stacked by the way you're facing and you could also choose how many blocks you want to stack the block(s) by.

When performed, this command will naturalize the blocks to make it look natural.
When you use this command, this will happen:
    1. The first layer of blocks closest to the sky will turn into grass
    2. The second, third and fourth layer will turn into dirt.
    3. All the layers underneath the fourth layer (fifth and lower) will turn into stone.
This command will place a layer of blocks on top of the blocks underneath it. This is a useful command if you need to add another layer (I usually use it for farmlands to add wheat) when you terraform. EG: //overlay 297

    Brush Tools
Brushes can make your life easier in so many different ways. A brush is a tool that has to be activated or else it wouldn't work.

Blocks that can be activated: Swords, axes (not a wooden one), arrow, shovel, hoe etc. (just as long the block/brush is unplaceable)

Sorry I only know a few brush types so if you could please comment the name of the brush and it's uses. Thanks :grinning:

The smooth brush is activated when you hold out your tool and say //brush smooth <size:1-4>,<size:1-4> You could also just say //brush smooth. It would automatically give you a size. This brush smoothen block's surfaces. It is handy for making mountains so that you could choose to make it be either steep or leveled.

The gravity brush will (once right clicked) drop all the floating blocks to the ground. If the blocks are already on the ground, the gravity brush will lower the level of the blocks. So imagine a flat surface. You use the gravity brush and a chunk of it will go one block deeper. Yeah that's what it does sometimes.

Unlike the others, you don't need to put 'brush' in front of the 'repl'. But anyways, what this does is that it would replace blocks that you right clicked to another block of your desire. The full formula is this: //repl (block that you would like to be replaced into) This brush is commonly use for creating pixel art.

TIP: If you activated a tool as a //repl brush, you could change the block you would like to be replaced into, into a different block by left clicking that 'different block'. Sorry can't explain D:

Believe it or not, you could use brushes to make spheres, cylinders and pyramids. All you have to do is hold out the tool and say //brush <h>sphere (block) (radius) or //brush <h>cyl (block) (radius) or //brush <h>pyramid (block) (radius) If you right click you're brush, the selected type will generate at where you're pointing.

    Others (no wand or brush)
There are several other commands that doesn't require a wand or a brush.

This command will fill in blocks within the radius you selected. EG: //fill (block) (1-10) <1-10> or //fill cobblestone 10 3.

Here's to explaining the numbers in //fill. The first number is mandatory, or else a red sentence will say 'too few arguments'. The first number is the radius or size that you want your block to fill into. The second number is the height. This is an optional number to enter because some people only want to have a one block high filling and some others would like to have the height higher.

This command will generate a sphere, a cylinder or a pyramid with the block of your choice of a selected radius (1-10). EG: //sphere (block) (1-10) or //sphere cobblestone 10

This command also offers a hallow sphere or a hallow pyramid. To make the sphere or pyramid hallow, put a 'h' in front of the type you want to generate. EG: //hsphere cobblestone 10

When you perform this command, the generated type will be generated around you. So, if you typed //sphere cobblestone 10, a sphere with a radius of 10 will spawn around you, so you will have to break blocks in order to get out of the sphere.

The cylinder command can be a little tricky. If you put in //cyl cobblestone 10, it will create a a flat circle or an oval (to create an oval, //cyl (block) (1-10),<1-10> Sorryyy I'm not really good with cylinders so please correct me if I'm wrong). If you do //hcyl cobblestone 10, it will create a ring of cobblestone with the radius of 10. After the formula (//cyl (block) (1-10),<1-10>) you could add another number which will determine the height of the cylinder you want to create.

This command will let you do your job of placing water or lava easier, especially if you would want to fill in a two or higher deep pond. All you have to do is place water or lava on one area and say //fixwater (radius of 1-10) or //fixlava (radius of 1-10)

Note: You must stand inside the fluid to perform the action, or else it won't work.

The //drain command works quite easily. It drains all fluids in the radius. The full formula is //drain (radius of 1-10)

This command will let you go up to a certain distance. People use this for void maps to spawn a block of glass beneath their feet. The full formula is //up (0 and above)

This command lets you go through blocks if you're stuck. It would teleport you to an empty space in the way you're facing. If there is no free space, you would get a warning and won't be teleported.

This command will count a certain type of block you choose. This command is useful for creating Sabotage maps because you can count the number of chests you have used. The full formula is //count (block)

This command will bind a tree tool to your selected brush. If you right click on a blocks where trees can grow, a tree will appear there. To change the type of tree, add the type behind the '/tree' EG: /tree (type) or /tree big

This command will remove any brush commands added to the brush.

Most importantly (can't believe I almost forgot :stuck_out_tongue:)
The //undo and //redo command. //undo will undo the previous action of world edit you did. //redo will redo the previous //undo world edited action.

Thanks for reading this. Please tell me if I missed anything so I can add it to this thread and I hope the new users of WE will find this helpful.

You should try to add something on //g commands. They are really useful if you know some math and can get the formulas.

For a complete guide to WorldEdit, check out this. You might need to come back to it several times before you can read it all, but it's super useful.
