Creative Ranks Hubbub - The "Merge"

I am still quite confused on this whole 'merge' thing, it seems beneficial but also a little unfair, some people are saying we will KEEP our ranks and others say we will LOOSE our ranks, I worked very hard to achieve AdvBuilder and I am working on my way to WorldEdit 1 but if I don't get to keep my achieved goals, I agree that this is very unreasonable, please someone fill me in on all of that.

Also, are we all going to be able to even get ranks or are we all going to have the same commands and all be world edit, and with shout, will we all be able to shout? or will we have to regain our ranks to get Shout? Please if someone could fill me in I would be very pleased.

Tato I know this is irrelevant, but how do you put links into words.

 

Select the word you want to put hyperlink on. Then, on the edit box thingy, if you click on the 7th thingy on the line, the one that looks like an infinity sign(?) or like a chain... looking thing, you can insert a link on to it. Sorry for the awful explanation, don't really know how to explain it.

 

I agree with some of that, but some people aren't as immature as you are stating, the server is unique and thus not wanted to be changed. I improved because I wanted to and not for a rank or privileges, if you think that people are that selfish and rude don't give us that option in the first place. I also doubt a lot of people would say that last quote.

If you think we find building boring then you haven't seen us at all. We just try to earn something and want to keep what we've earned and I understand you may think we'd be as immature as that due to experience with other players but think again when you say "completely" bitter, that just makes you sound like the bully too.

You are clearly entitled to your own opinion, but at least don't contradict yourself one post later.

I don't think you find building boring, you just told me you find building boring if you don't have a rank to work towards. Yes, I said you are completely bitter based on your earlier statement- I actually took the word 'bitter' from your original statement- and pointing out an observation does not make me a bully.

Of course it's your opinion, not sure why you keep stating that, I'm very aware that it is your opinion and not someone else's.

I have a question can you get more maps by ranking up for building stuff because I don't want to be limited to a few maps because I haven't ranked up to We1 or above in creative

I wholly disagree with your opinion on ranks, as well as the few provocative posts that have followed. While you are accusing us of being frankly stubborn about our ranks, you are refusing to acknowledge the fact that the concept of ranking up and applying is ingraved in the Creative server. To a large extent, ranks are actually a reason why people build on Creative. For many people, it feels unsatisfactory to build and have no resulting reward. Even I have found myself unwilling to build when I weight the profits of doing so against the tedious work. In this essence, the implementation of ranks also inserts a purpose for many builders on Brawl creative.

Likewise, the inclusion of ranks is about as useful as making maps or other self-propelled goals. In fact, it is perhaps more useful because Brawl is much more evaluating towards player-made maps than MCPVP. Back on topic, ranks, as I previously stated, are an element of the creative server. They cling many players to the server, including myself. They usefully keep us placing blocks due to the satisfaction we get from achieving a promotion.

I do partially do believe the statement that ranks should by no means be used as a symbol for superiority. However, it is a natural will to be powerful and authoritative, so people do favor ranks because of such tendencies. You should not forget, however, that this further drives players to apply, build, and play. So, again, this negativity is somewhat beneficial to the server, as it full-circles to player commitment.

Finally, I'd like to state that you are, well, biased in this thread. You cannot tell a thousand-player server to calm down, especially in such a drastic change. The future is uncertain, and we typical Creative members are going to be under full affect. And, with the loss of our greatly beloved ranks,
we will, undoubtedly, feel as if this situation is unfair. In a further notice, barely any of the players will or know how to save their builds as schematics. A lot of people, no matter how you look at it, will be loosing their creations. You, meanwhile, will be receiving full benefit of this transformation.

Hopefully you guys may understand my analysis on ranks. They are a lot more than you think, and are purposeful in relation to the server.

 

If your only motivation to build is to achieve ranks, then you shouldn't be building in the first place. We'd rather allow people to do what they enjoy than to restrict features in order to give people a false sense of superiority. Regardless, ranks are out, and that's not up for debate. Sorry

 

What's funny is that ranks are staying, and Putty said so himself. I also highly doubt you read the entirety of my counter-argument.

Your statement is like saying that people shouldn't try to report and help players to be staff. Ranks are a part of the Brawl Creative server.
