Technology How low can we get minecraft to be?

    What is the lowest windows/Mac/Linux version you can get minecraft to run on? So far the lowest I've gotten is Windows XP. Tried windows 98..... Failed. But let's see how low we can get. Please tell what year the version was made in.

    I had to deal with Windows XP Minecraft for 6 months... Talk about a nightmare.

    I had to deal with it for an entire year.... luckily it wasn't laggy until 1.7, i got usually around 30-60 fps
