My ELO is 1200, which it started at, while others are below and some are above. My highest killstreak is 8 and my current KDR is 2.78, and neither of those changed my ELO. I don't know if they do, but what does it mean, and how does it change? Thanks!

Elo is simply the last name of the guy who invented it, afaik. You gain elo from winning 1v1s and lose it from losing 1v1s.

Arpad Elo was an old competitive chess player. He died in 1992 I believe. He's the one who invented Elo names after himself. So you hit the nail on that one.

I believe you are talking about that russian guy , i think his name is Kasparov ( probably wrong spelling ) and yes he won , although keep in mind he has an intelligence quotient (iq) of 190 or so and is a chess grand master , speaking of chess grand master you need 2000 or 2500 elo to get that title ( all of this is of memory )

The Elo rating system is a method for calculating the relative skill levels of players in competitor-versus-competitor games such as chess. It is named after its creator Arpad Elo, a Hungarian-born American physics professor.
