    Simple description: Charge up and activate your laser gun to shoot a laser that travels up to 50 blocks and deals damage.

    Complex description: You start with a Laser Gun and if you hold the item for one second and then right click, a laser (line of fireworkSpark particles, one every block or two) will shoot out in the direction you are facing. The laser will travel at 20 blocks/second, travel up to 50 blocks and will stop if you stop holding the item. Anyone in the line of the laser takes frequent (3/second) hits of one heart. If you face a different direction or move, a new laser will appear and the old will fade away. However, changing your viewing direction by less than 5 degrees per second will move the laser beam and not break it. When deactivated, it requires 10 seconds to cool down.
    There is a laser 'energy' that prevents the laser from being used infinitely. You have 500 fuel that is lost at 1 per second per air block while the laser is active. If the energy is empty, the laser 'breaks' and fades away. There is a 20 second cooldown for the laser if the energy runs out. The laser energy is internal and not displayed to the player, but when you reach past halfway it will begin playing "ding" sounds that gradually increase in frequency the lower the energy.
    Also, lasers CAN go through walls, but for every block traveled though walls, 10 blocks are taken from their total distance. Going through walls takes up 50x more energy. Lasers reflect back to their owner if they collide with "shiny" blocks such as glass and gold blocks. Sneaking while the laser is active will break the laser beam.

    Starting items: Laser Gun (either a brewing stand item, a redstone torch or a "chirp" disc)

    Pros:
    - High damage output of 3 hearts per second
    - Long range of 50 blocks
    - Can travel through up to 5 solid blocks
    - Some potential for trapping
    - Lasers can last up to 10 seconds, meaning up to 30 hearts of damage per shot
    - Not too long of a cooldown

    Cons:
    - Easy to miss (not too much of an attack radius)
    - A thick floor and/or glass can make towers hard to defeat
    - Running out of energy means double the cooldown time.
    - Moving your cursor too much and/or taking knockback will break the laser beam

    Strategies:
    - Use the going-through-walls mechanic to create traps
    - If you are good at aiming, use it as a longer range hunting kit
    - Shoot it at a tower from below to do some damage to anyone up there
    - Deal lots of quick short range damage in a fight


    This is the 2nd kit idea I've posted so don't expect it to be 11/10 mlg pro

    I think the cool down needs to be longer to balance the kit out a bit. -1 Overall I love this idea! +1. Change bullet speed! Holy cow if you're chasing someone and use this, gg to them! +0

    Just added a warning when energy is low and changed the cooldowns (cooldown lengthening requested by @Turmac )

    I like the generally gist of the idea but the kit itself could use some fine tuning.

    Thanks for using the format aswell :wink:

    I think that perhaps 100 blocks should be shortenened, considering the map is 500x500 generally, being able to shoot a 3 heart laser over 1/5 of the map could become pretty powerful under the circumstances. Perhaps something like 20-50 blocks would seem more plausible in my opinion..

    The cooldown seems a little bit short, but that might just be me being picky :stuck_out_tongue:

    Also, being able to string together so many particles may result in lag? I'm not 100% sure about this but i can imagine if a lot of players start using this it could cause a lot of server lag, which is definitely something we don't want because they're already quite laggy on occasions.

    I think lasers should stop when hitting a wall, but explode! That way, it wouldn't make too much rage. The explosion should be enough to break blocks, but not enough to kill a player?

    Stlast did you give this idea in mcpvp? It sounds very familiar:wink:

    I do not think this would be balanced at all.. A long range laser which does 3 hearts damage AND explodes? I personally don't think this would be balanced in the current HG

    I don't really like the sound of Lasers and Explosions, seems kind of unfair that it's really custom and can do damage, I know you listed the Cons but I still think it's overpowered :/ .

    Changed a couple things.
    Should I halve the distance based stats? That might make it a bit more balanced.

    I'd definitely say consider changing the distance, just try to make the kit as balanced as possible :grinning:

    I halved the distance and a lot of the things tied with that.
