Brawl Moderator Application:
Alg_’s moderator application to become a moderator on SGG.
I will explain everything about my motivation to become a Sgg moderator and the reason why I do not want to become a War moderator below.

One and a half mouth ago, I made an application to become a moderator for War, and this application was accepted, so I had to schedule an interview, but I answered badly two questions, also I got denied, but that is not the reason why I am applying again. It is just because I had to improve greatly my English and my teamspeak activity. I tried to, that is why I think I am ready to re-schedule an interview, and maybe be accepted. Moreover, this is not because there are enough War moderators that I am applying for SGG at all!

As I wrote in my previous applications, I want to thank some players who give me a lifetime of pleasure to play these days :
Well, even if sometimes my English can give to certain players difficulties to understand my ideas/reflexions/warnings etc. this point couldn’t remove the best and funniest moments of Minecraft that I had and that I still have with those players. Also, I would like to thank you for your time to hear and read me while, once again, my English can be sometimes bad.
Moreover, I would like to thank Striker, who encouraged me, and helped me to feel better, and not to give up. Therefore I did not give up on the work of my English and my Teamspeak activity.
I would like to thank everybody who supported me in my previous application, and even after, because two minutes before my interview, I received many friendly messages, so it really helped me to be more relax. So, once again, thanks !
I have so many friends around this community, and it always takes me a lot of time to thank them all, but I will never forget you !

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? -
Nobody can have an access to my Minecraft account. Sometimes my sister plays with my account but I am next to her, also I can keep a close watch on her, and of course she is alway respectful with people and the game. All of my friends don’t know my account password, also you can be assured that it is me who play (almost) everyday.

How old are you? -
I am 14 years old, turing 15 in February 2016.

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
I can speak fluently or not three languages such as :

French: I speak French since I have been able to pronounce the first word of my life. French is my native language, as a consequence of this, I am able to speak French everywhere, and I often speak French around Brawl with foreign players but these players are able to pronounce only a few French words, it is always a pleasure to hear them to try to pronounce my name… But well, of course I am able to speak French fluently because I live in French since 14 years, my parents are French, I go to a French school therefore I have French friends, but without a doubt, I think you have already seen me speaking French, quite simply because I made around 5 French guides, four of them are translated guides (official Wiki) which can be found here, here, here and here.
English: I have been learning English since about 10 years. Also that is why I am not able to speak English fluently as I can speak French fluently. I do quite well in English, therefore, I am the best in English of my class (not in terms of the class average) in terms of the capacity and the easiness to be able to speak in English. Brawl is a really good help for my English… It is really a chance for me to have found this community, and I will not leave Brawl not any time soon. About my English around Brawl, I think I have improved my English a lot and greatly since I first joined, once again, sometimes I make a lot of mistakes, but sometimes you correct my sentence, also I will not mistake a second time. As a French, I made around 4 guides in English, here, here, here and here. Besides, Brawl is a really good help, only because I can speak English with so many other players on Teamspeak, and because I can read and write messages on the forums.
German: German has been in my languages choice when I went to the secondary school. I have been learning it since 4 years and I am not able to speak German as I can speak English… The fundamental bases of this language were learned a long time ago. We are currently learning the history of Germany (Ludwig II for instance.). I am not able to begin a serious conversation with a German, but I am able to understand only basic information, such as his/her name, age, job…

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
My experience as a Minecraft player is very developed. I started playing Minecraft since 2011. It has been five years since I play Minecraft, also I must say that I know almost everything about this game. I started this game with the « Alpha » version. Nowadays, Minecraft has very improved and it is always a pleasure to play this game. At the beginning, I was more concerned with the solo way, because I was very shy and because I didn’t want to undertake responsibilities with a Minecraft server (as a player). That is why I spent a lot of my Minecraft time playing alone. After playing this game 1 year and a half years, I stopped it because I fond a new game : DOFUS, I already explained everything about this game and what I did there in my previous application, and I don’t really want to repeat myself. After stopping playing this game, I restarted Minecraft after stopped Dofus and I still played alone, improving and improving my knowledge of this game. After a few months on this game, I must confess that Dofus missed me, therefore, I stopped Minecraft again. And I came back again… But, this time, I found McBrawl, with the old Call Of Duty trailer. I thought it could be great if I see what this server is. I knew immediately that I wanted to play on this server during a long time, and that’s how my shyness has gone. I started to play with some mods too, such as Divine RPG or Vanilla +. I wanted to do again what some youtubers have made. That is why I was playing with these mods but I didn’t really like playing with these ones. Because Minecraft has a infinite numbers of possibility which are different of each others. That is why I do not really enjoy playing with these mods, because they sometimes ruin the game by adding lots of new features, and Minecraft already has lots of features, also finally, there are so many things to do. Since I discovered the wonderful Brawl community with around 10 servers. I definitely stopped playing alone, being concentrated in my current stuffs which are to improve English a bit more by playing.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
I have more than one experience with moderating servers :

>MCServer : This is the french server in which I am a moderator. This is a KitPVP server. I was a moderator on this server a long time ago but I asked my resignation and I have made an « outro » because I have found Brawl and I found it better than this server… Since 3 mouths ago, I restarted to play on this server and when the guys saw me, they asked me to re-apply, what I did and my application was accepted. I can not give you some proof for the moment because I am less active on this server than on Brawl -but I will do it when I can.

>LBSIserver : French server for our school created by a friend and I, it was a Survival Games server where we both were admin, but one day, a player sent an anonymous report to my friend and the report was against me, about the fac that I would have done a very big troll to an other player. Of course, it was a fake, but my friend didn’t want to trust me, I was demoted and I made my « outro » too. The server does not exist any more and I do not think it will re-open again.

>DevTeam : A server created by Profbonkars about the DevTeam, on this server, we worked about something new for War and WarZ. I was a moderator but it does not really matter because we were all mods (I think), but now Bonkars stopped the DevTeam, I think he will make a new thread about this one, and I will keep my job in the DevTeam.

>Cod-Warfare : After Daniel and Tea have left Brawl, I talked to Tea and he told me that Daniel will create a Mc-Warfare server for the French players, this server will be a bit different as War. I started to help on it since 3 weeks, that is why he promoted me to the Mod position

I wrote the same thing as my previous application because my experience has not evolved nor lowered.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
If I am provided moderator status, I will provide my helpfulness and my activity on the French hours, because a vast majority of the moderators are American, and cannot be present at the same schedule as me.
When the "French hours" are "on", I will give everybody a simple pleasure of playing together. Of course I will not stop helping lots of players when they are in need of help. Or if a player starts accusing someone because apparently he is hacking, I will give the link to report someone (report.brawl.com) and make sure to have a significant proof.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -
No, I have never used a hacked client since I started Minecraft and since I started a game though! I really do not want to use it, because one could have some problems in the future if one is using a hacked client, and instead of playing with a hacked client, one must exploit the work of the game.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -
No, I have not, never. That catch up with the previous question, seeing that I have never used a hacked client before, I do not know why I should have been banned on a Minecraft Server. But the types of bans are varied, but once again, I have never been banned on a Minecraft server.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -
I think that my greatest strength is the fluency and the ability to help a person by daring towards him/her. This is one of my best strength. I love helping people because I hate when a person is in a bad way, that is why I do everything that I can to resolve his/her problem and help this person. I am no more shy as before because I learned how to move forwards and to forge ahead, and, more than everything, to overcome my shyness and my fear to talk with people who may not understand me every time I try to express myself. Therefore, I alway help someone when someone is in need of it.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My real greatest weakness is the organisation between game and homework. When I come back from school (I think I’m not alone), I do not really want to do my homework. The first thing I do is playing and going on the forums, instead of doing my homework… I know, I have to do my homework first, and after that, I could play as I want, but it is sometimes difficult. As I was told, I have to change this little habit.
I wrote the same thing because I have not changed this feature, I do not how to do so…

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -
Like my previous applications, I will divide this question into three parts, one about my forums activity, an other for my Teamspeak activity, and then the last one for my in-game activity.

Forums activity: My forums activity is very developed. With my 1034 posts, I consider me very active on this Brawl platform. The Survival Game w/ guns section is not very an active section where lots of threads are created. That is why I enjoy traveling around the sections and if I find a player who is in need of help, I will use all possible means to help him/her or to resolve his/her problem. I think that I am very helpful on the forums too, because I have made around 15 guides, based on (almost) each Brawl server. I liked writing these guides because I would say that it was helpful to a player. This thought makes me happy, because I managed to convey someone how to play. To cut a long story short, I have over 1000 posts on the forums, over 500 positing ratings, all those things qualify me for an active player on the forums.

In-game activity: I am very very active in-game, I can speak 4 hours a day. SGG is not an easy server when you begin playing, that is why when a player is in need of help, I do everything I can to resolve his/her problem. If someone starts saying « A player is hacking », I will tell him/her to « do not accuse someone, please report hackers at report.brawl.com and make sure you have a proof », but it is quite unusual that a player starts saying this sentence. SGG is not very popular than some other servers such as Party or WarZ. Therefore, because that I am French, I have to wait a long time before finding a good game with a threshold number of players in this game. But that doesn’t matter because SGG is very worked and developed server where we can spend so many fun and good moments! About my rank in the SGG leaderboards, I am the 29th player in the leaderboards at the moment, it proves that I play really often.

Teamspeak activity: In my previous application, I wrote that I started to be active as before. Now, this thing is real, I am very active on TS, however, like the in-game activity, I have to wait a long time before finding someone I should talk with. Nevertheless, this problem does not irk me. The Teamspeak activity is not judged with you are in private channels, therefore, that is why I never was a long time in a private channel since I started using TS. I am always in public channels by looking at players who are in need of help. Sometimes I can find a player, and I devote a little time to resolve his/her problem. I respect the TS rules, that is why I have never been jailed or muted. But anyway, I am very active on Teamspeak too.

In other words, I am very active on the Brawl platforms.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? -
I was the most active on War. But this way has changed just because of late War bores me, maybe because I am playing this server since now one year and a half. Indeed, I do understand a little more that War is not made for me ! Without a doubt, I will maybe leave War for ever and ever. Also I will not set foot in there anymore… Maybe because of the youthful actions which take place little by little. Of course I do not speak about everybody… far from there, I am only speaking about the players who make this community very rotten as before… And it makes me always nervous, that is why I will leave War, and that is why I am applying for Sgg today.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -
I can provide around 4 hours per day. The school system is very different than the American one, but I am playing at 5:30 p.m. from 10:30 p.m. These hours are French and, also it is something like 11:30 a.m. from 4:30 p.m. in America (east cost). But when I am playing at the morning, you are sleeping, and when I am applying at the evening, it is midday (jet lag!).

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -
A players is able to vary his or her choices as a function of the hacked client used or if a player succeeds in finding a way to go out of the map. That is why the warnings depend of the committed error. Indeed, if a player goes out of the map, he will not be banned forever, therefore, if this problem appears, I have more than one steps to resolve this problem :

1- If I see someone’s going out of the map, I will ask the public chat to get back into the map, he cannot because he is stuck I will ask him to do /spawn or a similar command such as /hub or /war leave.
2- It is likely that this player will not do what I asked him, but everybody has a second chance, also I will ask him again what I said not long ago.
3- If he/she keeps refusing, I will kick him/her because he was out of the map.
4- If I see him/her starts again, I will kick this player for one hour.

If it’s something like a chat bypassing/spamming/18+ content, I will mute him/her for 5 minutes. If this person starts again, I will increase duration of his/her mute (around 30 minutes).
If someone’s hacking (fly/killaura/speedboost/jumpboost), I will use the /report command. If nobody comes, I will start recording his/her hack, upload the video on youtube, and then report him/her on the forums.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
There are lots of rules-breaking on the forums, and although a moderator cannot move a thread if this one has been posted in the wrong section… The best way to resolve a rule-breaking on the forums is simply by clicking the « report » button and I will start a conversation with this person who just broke a rule on the forums.
Moreover, a moderator is able to lock a thread, therefore, I will lock a thread if these points are not respected :

• Someone posted a Gravedig-post
• The thread has been resolved
• The author asked a request to lock his thread.
• The thread became a flame War
• The Thread is duplicated
• The Thread is 100% pointless.

So, if these points appear, I will simply lock the thread, and start a conversation with this person.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -
There are many ways to break a rule on TS3, therefore I will list these ways and write which step(s) I will undertake to inform him :

• TeamSpeak Nickname : This rule-breaking happens really many times : the in-game name of the players does not correspond to the TeamSpeak name. In doing so, I have two steps to resolve this problem :

1 - I will ask him/herto change his/her TS name because « your Teamspeak name has to be the same of something like your in-game name »
2 - If he/she begins to say that this name is the real one, I will ask him/her to send me a private message in-game (if, naturally, he/she is online) to judge if it is really his/her name. If he/she can not send me a private message, I will ask a higher staff member to decide his/her fate.

• Voice Changers : Well, change your voice is not allowed, therefore I will ask to speak with his/her real voice. If he keeps speaking with a trafficked voice, I will move to a different channel with me, and I will do everything to resolve this problem.

• Crunch, yell, shout, squeal, breathe etc. : If someone starts making these forbidden actions, I will move him to a different channel with me to inform him that what he is doing is not allowed. I will ask him to read the TS3 rules by clicking or changing to the "Rules - Read the sidebar" channel.

The channel were I will move a player who breaks a rule on TS3 is the "Private Support / Jail" channel.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -
First of all, I will make sure that this glitch is not some bad joke. I will ask people to show me a proof or to tell me on what server it is. If it is false, I will tell the one who spreads the rumor not to do a joke like these one again, and that we do not make fun about that. If the information reveals itself as true, I will try to contact by any way an administrator. If I can not, I will take a screenshot of this glitch and I will make a special thread in the « Bug report » section on the forums. We all know that the admins are always connected on TS3 or on skype. But I will contact them by any way.
This is the same thing as my previous application because my steps has not changed.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -
Well, my answer may produce a strange reaction, you will maybe call me a « tryhard ». Keep in mind that when I started writing my application (around 6 mouths ago) I was mistaking a lot, but it has changed, it has changed because I have a deeper engagement and stronger role around Brawl.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
Due to experiences in different servers, I have strengthened my insights skills in terms of moderating. Therefore, I know how all the staff member commands work.

Anything else we should know about you? -
This is not really about me but some questions are the same as my previous application because I think that I don’t have to change what I said in the previous one. Moreover, I see that the previous one was one of my best application I have ever written, in addition to this one. That is why some questions are a bit similar as previous application.
I finished learning the CSS and HTML languages since 2 weeks.
