Instead of buffing every single kit that needs to be buffed, maybe Brawl should change things around a bit and make the "mini" or not so powerful/op kits be able to be stacked with each other, in other words, giving players to combine 2 underpowered kits together as a custom kit. For example, forger, scout, chemist, frosty, redstoner, lifeline, etc. could be "crafted" into a new kit, combining their effects. However, there could be an added debuff like " can't use your kit for the first 5 minutes of a game," or, "you start with half your normal hunger level." Not only would this spark some more creativity in HG, it could provide some extra revenue for Brawl.

Im totally up for this, but who decides what kits aren't OP? Stuff like this is based of gameplay style and how people think. Cultivator is awesome for me, but to other people its pretty bad. So who is to decide an opinion?

I feel like this would make the game VERY complicated. As stated above what is a good/bad kit is very opinionated and varies over time as more kits are added/become popular. I just think that it would be difficult to balance and decide which kit combinations are "fair".

Yeah, that's what I was thinkjng aswell.

Also would it cost extra to merge kits? This is a very touchy idea because perhaps one merged kit could throw off the entire gameplay if it's considered overpowered.

I personally think its best to stay sith regular preset kits how it is now, and perhaps maybe look into an additional server or two for custom kits. :grinning:

It'd complicate things to much. Honestly, they need a HG v2 where they rework all the kits, and change the gameplay a ton. HG is dying out, and keeping it like this is not a good way Brawl can save it.

I would like to see a version 2 introduced in the future, however, at the moment HG is fine in my opinion. There's still a decent playerbase (obviously nothing like 2012) but still good enough to be enjoyable at this current time.

But yes, a HGv2 gameplay change could be interesting however in the past, gameplay changes haven't necessarily been the best..

I was talking about people being persuaded to buy two kits instead of one, I wasn't trying to say that there would be a cost to merging kits.

I was thinking that the most popular kits should be kept without being able to merge them, while the least popular kits that aren't all that powerful should be able to merge with one another. And the merge list doesn't have to be final, it can change when needed.

I think that maybe there could be a group of servers that play "classic HG," which doesn't change except the game being updated to the current minecraft update. I like that idea of a "HG 2," which could be classic HG but with more features.

My point of this thread was to mostly give "Food for Thought" to the HG community, and show that a "underpowered" kit doesn't always have to be buffed the "regular way." I would like to be able to add more creativity to my kits to make it fit my playstyle instead of waiting for mcpvp/brawl to make one for me. I understand that this is a more of a long-term idea instead of a short one,so I am not expecting this to be added anytime soon.

I was talking about "underpowered" kits like redstoner and plague, not stomper, grappler, kngaroo, endermage, etc.
