Idea Smelt armor and weapons for ores

    Hey guys- I've played two other raid/survival servers very similar to PVP, and a very nice feature was the ability to smelt or scavenge ores back from armor/tools/weapons.

    How I saw it best implemented is you could put the item in a furnace with coal and smelt it down to the ores themselves. For example, a diamond sword would give 2 diamonds or a gold pick axe would give 3 gold.

    The caveat is that durability is taken into account, so a half-used item would give half the ores as an unused item.

    The reason I propose this when I raid, I find so much stuff I won't or can't use, like gold swords or iron leggings. I'd rather be able to smelt it down to deposit (gold stuff), make trackers (iron stuff) or items of my choice (diamond stuff). I know mods are out there for this and I'll post a link if I can find one.

    amazing idea, But here is the downfall, there is a heavy chance it will never ever be added,

    1:Staff Be Lazy
    2:Takes too long to add apparently
    3:"Makes the server LESS VANILLAAAA" ~Staff

    Staff is really to lazy i just got a warz Hacker with 2 ridealongs but the ridealongs didn't get Banned -.-

    My guess is that it would take less than an hour to add. The mods are out there that do this, all that the mod is doing is overriding some code for furnaces. The code I saw was about 4k in size, which is the size of a short email.

    If you don't like the staff there's an open door for you to leave, we don't need another person to tell the whole community about its problems, I think we already know what's happening. EDIT: The staff aren't lazy you just view them as lazy, and you don't like their matured responses.

    I really like this idea. It's also easy to code and useful for if you do a raid with a bunch of armor you don't need. +1 from me!

    The mods don't even code ROFL (never mind I know what you mean, I saw that differently and I found it funny...)

    +1, this was always useful on MCPVP raid. It was useful if you got a bad enchantment and wanted to re-enchant what you didn't want.

    I'm bumping because lag is fixed. I really want to buy all of those gold swords that go for .005 apiece and smelt 2 gold out of each of them.

    But seriously there is a lot of gold locked up in weapons and armor in the shop...
