    So, there is a 2 main problems with the current spawn protection. 1, if you are afk, people can just spawn camp you by shooting you after the spawn protection wears of. 2, you can run out into the battle field while you still have protection an be invincible. I propose that spawn protection should be changed so it would be area, not time based. Players in tdm and ctf should receive spawn protection only when they are on the exact block that them teams spawn in on. Once the player leaves this block spawn protection is removed. If the player re-enters the protected area they will not receive protection. Spawn proctection in ffa, gungame, and for the survivors in infect would stay the same so players couldn't be stay in one place and never be killed. What do you think?

    Gungame, ffa should stay the same.
    You're not invisible with spawn protection. Spawn protection shouldn stay the same.

    Good idea, but you could get knocked off the block.
    My idea is when you are on the spawning block you are on godmode/creative so you can't get knocked off.

    For your first reason; you should not be afk.
    For your second reason; spawn protection lasts for six seconds and that wears off usually before you confront the enemy (small maps may not but usually small maps are played only with low players.)
    One problem I have with this idea is people could stay in spawn and shoot others while still being protected (if people are in your way you could jump shoot.)
    Second problem enemy's could shoot and knock afk players out of protected area and then kill them.

    I agree with booflame that you should not be afk. If you must leave, or have to go for a few minutes, it is best you log off for the time being. All you are doing is taking up a spot on your team, a spot that could belong to someone who would actually contribute to the match. Second, I can see many people jumping if front of you, just trolling around, and I can also see people simply never leaving the protection, this never being killed (even though they will not gain kills either, they can do it to troll their team). Other than that it doesn't sound like a bad idea, because I do hate it when a spawn protected user comes around the corner and I cannot damage him. I remain neutral on the idea.

    This is not to protect the afk people. This is to prevent people from farming xp continuously from them.

    If they don't remove the spawn protection, I really hope they make it where it instantly gets removed after you shoot your gun. I sit there, a small distance from their spawn and I shoot at them. They shoot back with spawn protection on and I die.

    Now THAT sounds like a good idea. Maybe keep the spawn protection and add this? That way they have 6 seconds to be ready to go again, or you are once again vulnerable.

    In-game I have not seen spawn protection as a problem. Sure when your team spawn traps the enemy at their spawn and you hardly get a kill in that is not so fun.
    I agree with terrd making spawn protection only go away after you shot seems like a great alternative.

    But what if in ctf you never shoot and no one can kill you while you are capping the flag?

    When you move spawn protection would dissipated.

    What I meant was that while spawn protection is active, you can't shoot or it'll go away. It will run out like normally would.

    I stated this in my previous post :3 It would go away after the normal 6 seconds, but it the player fires his weapon it will be removed automatically.

    Fill the spawn with block 36 or similar u can't shoot u can't be hit

    Someone could stay in the same block and shoot so no. If you say when they shoot spawn protection wares off, then your on to something ;3

    If you any action, the protection would go away. I like that better.
