    When you get cornered in Australia:

    I'm red/pink, and my opponent is black/blue.

    Explanation for those who understand the game: I had Africa and Australia, Yellow had part of Asia, and Blue had OP North America + South America. Blue has 3 cards, knocks out yellow who had 5 cards, draws 1 more card to end turn. So blue now has a total of 9 cards, which could be arranged into 3 sets to turn in for armies. I attack for a card and then evacuate all my armies to Siam because I'm obviously f***ed now. I have a set for the next turn. Blue turns in all their cards and gets a buttload of armies, but screws up and only takes Africa, then moves all the armies to encircle Siam. I turn in my one set and put it all on Siam. Then, we built up little forts in our territories because we didn't feel like spending half an hour rolling dice for one battle.

    All because Yellow let Blue keep North America. OP AF.

    Thats an interesting fort you have there. I always played it with infantry, cavalry and artillery figures, so that would not work out for me.

    We found an online risk calculator to do the entire battle, it told us we saved 30 minutes. But based on how long it takes us to roll dice, this is probably a big underestimate.

    Yeah we have the 1959 reprint version.

    Lol so true. When we got bored of the game, each player got one meteor strike. You drop the dice on the bored and everyone who falls over is dead.

    Mine's was WWII-themed, so there were tanks and airplanes and foot soldiers with guns.

    I like how many versions of risk there are: Napoleonic, Modern, WWII, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings.

    Whenever we played there was one brave country with only a few soldiers that managed to survive even though i t was totally outnumbered. That country was then the running gag for the rest of the game.

    I have the colonial version with guns, cannons, cavalry. I also have risk on computer. And EVERYONE fights to go to Australia. Although once your in Australia, you take a risk. You may not get out.
