ARE WE LOOSING OUR RANKS?!?!?!?!?

You will be able to download your builds and put them on MCBuild, don't worry about losing them.

There is currently no rank system on Build, so there's nothing to apply for. Build also isn't in need of a rank system, so there's no point in adding one.

 

We don't build for stupid ranks, we build purely for enjoyment and we build for the server.

We have fun, we enjoy, we build

 

I've heard a lot of rumours too and have had a talk with a few of the admins/moderators about it, they seemed stressed as to why many people fuss about it, to be honest when you get to a certain point it just gets boring, Mcbuild gives us something else to look forward to! Why not just let it happen and not try and stop it? I mean it's easier like that for everyone! Otherwise it will probably just break out into a huge flame war and.. None of us want that at all do we?
Plus, on all forum threads I've seen so far on this topic is just spam of selfishness/wanting something to have.
You can easily see it one way or another it really doesn't really matter, If it's effecting you then sure but it really isn't so don't start a huge flame war about whose right or wrong, I know I've done it before but I gone passed that now were I don't really care if it goes one way or the other.

Chill guys, you are losing your ranks, but you will still have access to WE on Build as well. All builds are in the process of being transferred, as well. So those of you with ranks will pretty much have the same access.

Is that the brush sphere radius limit or the sphere radius limit? Because those are two different things.

 

Interesting, thanks for informing me, I haven't checked all of Build's limits (which is why I like Creative better). But it still doesn't matter, because it's not the size of the edit that creates the fps problem, it's the number of chests, and I'm assuming more than one edit is possible on build.

 

There is different limits for different commands, and the blocks that you can WE in are restricted.

This is where ranks are useful. Those who are trustworthy can operate with fewer restrictions, and those who are not trustworthy operate with more restrictions.

 

I have to disagree. I have never run into WE limits on Build. Also, a rank 'system' isn't needed. I think a restriction-free 'Trusted' rank is a possibility, but a system is not needed.

 

Well, I create spheres with a radius greater than 10 fairly often, and I'm sure other people do too. Creating large spheres without worldedit is a nightmare no one wants to tackle -- especially the mathematically illiterate.

 

What would you use a sphere bigger than that for? Anyways, there are always Build moderators online to help you if you are held back by the restrictions.

 

There are a great many uses for these things: Domes, biospheres, underwater bases, etc. And this isn't just limited to spheres, anything else with restrictions can impede building for many people. "Why would anyone need this?" is the wrong question -- the correct question is "Why not?"

Why shouldn't I be allowed to build a large biosphere? Why shouldn't I be allowed to build a dome? I would rather not wait for a moderator to do it for me. Moderators have better things to do than doing WorldEdits for everyone who runs into a wall.

 

Actually, a mod's job is help people. And normal players shouldn't be able to do it because it could lag the server. I don't understand why you are still arguing for a rank system, when it simply isn't needed.

 

You seem to believe that normal players are all untrustable, incompetent, and unable to handle any responsibility given to them. The rank system on creative proves your assumption to be untrue. There are plenty of people on creative who have proven themselves to be responsible people. These people can be trusted with relaxed restrictions.

The rank system is the only way to allow people the freedom of creativity, while at the same time preventing trouble-makers from creating havoc.

The only drawback to the rank system? Taking 10 minutes out of your day to write an application. (Oh the horror!)

 

Having a rank is a sense of pride aswell. (90% Of people to a rank because they are a good builders, and are happy about it. If you had the option that you can have a builder make you a house, Vs a WEPro. What would you choose?
It shows your ability in building. Without ranks, everyone would seem the same. Nothing different. all while ate blue name tags. Nothing different. Ranks are what makes the server fun. A lot of people who think the ranked people are selfish. In my opinion, the people who say we are selfish, are the selfish ones. They could care less on how hard Ranked players worked. they don't give a crap about it. all they care about is that we lose our ranks are everyone gets WE. So stop calling us selfish and face the facts. All the people who want ranks gone only care about themselves.
