Video Games Mafia Season 14 [RETURNING FROM MCPVP!] [30 PLAYERS]

Welcome to the OFFICIAL season 14 Mafia thread that is being hosted on the Brawl forums! Several hosts have successfully hosted over 13 seasons (or games) of mafia with the McPvP community! The following thread will introduce the basics of how the game mechanics work, the rules that must be followed, and how you can join in on the fun. Of course, having experienced in several similar games (Forum Mafia, Town of Salem, EpicMafia, or MCPVP Mafia games) is a plus, but new people are ALWAYS welcome and we make sure you learn the game and have fun at the same time! Mafia is a game of strong logic and the common lie. The following graphics will be used to simplify the basics behind the game

Because this is the first season on Brawl, i'd like to give a few examples of common Mafia roles that show up in games. Please note we usually have 20-40 player games, so these are obviously not all and the only roles that show up, but most games will include these roles to promote a fair balance.

**THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT SECTION OF THIS TOPIC**
Following the rules helps provide a positive experience for the players and hosts alike. Ruining games is not only immature, but doesn't achieve much but hinders the game. The goal of this game is to provide a side game outside of Minecraft for players to enjoy and actually think! You must follow EVERY SINGLE rule and you agree to following the rules by requesting to play. If you are confused by ANY of these rules, please ask me or any other hosts!


1) Please do NOT game throw. Game throwing is purposely going against your win condition with a lack of strategy. Examples of Game throwing:
a) Killing a confirmed town member as town with a night/day action (If it was an honest mistake, it's fine.. Make sure you pay attention to the game)
b) Revealing some/all mafia to anyone outside of main chat as town/mafia or anywhere as mafia (See CHEATING)


2)Do not cheat at ALL! Cheating includes telling people information outside of the main/mafia chats (teamspeak, skype, PMs, internet, your friend/siblings/dog, etc) which includes but does not limit to: your role, abilities, mafia, other peoples' roles, etc. Also, you cannot use Skype quotes or screenshots of the host giving your role to confirm your alignment/role


3) Please REMAIN ACTIVE IN THE GAME... Why join the game if you aren't going to try to play it? If you are planning to go on vacation or so within the week, don't join! We want to make sure everyone has an imput in the game


4) Listen to the HOST and use common sense! Just because these are the only listed rules, it does not mean that these are the only cases where you will be removed from the game!


Punishments: Breaking any rules above or by mod discretion will lead to:
Being removed from the game (Host-Killed)
Suspensions from to next or multiple seasons
Perma-BAN from any future mafia games
There is NO bans, we are starting fresh! But if you were banned from McPvP mafia games and want to play again, PLEASE follow the rules and play the game....

You only need ONE thing to join a game of mafia, which is Skype. We attempted to use Slack, but it wasn't as popular or highly used compared to Skype.
PLEASE DO NOT POST YOUR SKYPE HERE! If you want to play, all you have to do is post here with a simple message and then PM/Start a conversation with ME with your skype name. You should get a skype friend request from a skype that looks like this: w*********************k with a desplay name of TheRealEasy in fancy letters with a request to join the game of mafia chat. Once added, you will be added to the pregame chat which will turn into the main game chat once the game begins.
We will be cleaning out any previous bans and starting fresh, as long as you follow the rules above...

Question: How are roles chosen? Is there favoritism?
Answer: Absolutely NOT! We use a random generator that will give random roles to players. So new players might get important roles like cop and the expert players might get the less important roles, blame RNG! (Random Number Generator)
Note: For any roles that have a percentage chance (ex: Bodyguard), RNG will also be used to determine the role's outcome... So it's completely random based!
Question: I have never played any mafia-like games before and am a complete noob! Am I not allowed to play?
Answer: No! In fact, we encourage newer players to jump in and give it a shot! However, we do ask you talk a little bit and try to kill mafia/town

Question: I live in a timezone that goes against the more popular time zones (ex: USA, Europe, etc.). Could I still play?
Answer: Yes! Our day and night phases typically last 24 hours unless the majority of players during the day vote on a player or all night actions were used during the night. This gives everyone around the world the opportuntiy to jump on and get their mafia needs taken care of!
Question: When I first play, everyone talking about things (Logical interjections, accusations, etc.) is pretty overwhelming for me. How could I overcome this?
Answer: It is very overwhelming! Such confusion is very common among any player who plays for the first time, and it's probably not the first time you have such feelings. Feel free to ask players or the host in game (note, the host can only answer questions that wont reveal any information about the game specefically) on the meaning of what they are saying. Once you begin typing in the game, you will soon get the groove of the game and become a better player!
Question: I caught someone in the game breaking a rule. How shall I report them?
Answer: Take a screenshot of the rule-breaking and send it to the mod (If it's over voice, either quickly record it or simply let the host know so the host can investigate)
Question: How long do games/seasons typically last?
Answer: Normally, a season will last for 1-2 weeks tops, depending on how many people there are and how well the game flows. As long as you can be on for like 10-20 minutes a day for a week or 2.
Question: Who are the other hosts?
Answer: We might create a separate thread with hosts.. But include @Geothermal and @VivaPinata78 with myself.(EDIT: Note, the other hosts ARE playing and are not the hosts for *this* season. They will be hosting future seasons!)
