So as most of you know, in nearly every gamemode it seems to have server lag when there is ~30 or more people on the server at once, while it claims to be able to handle 70 people - 100

This is not client side lag or client side DDoS.

Reasons of Lag that I believe could be true.
    1) The servers are getting DDoSed 24/7 (Not likely at all but still a possibility)
    2) Chaploo has decided to skimp on buying his servers, saving money but in the process sacrificed needed resources (Ram) needed to keep the server running lag free. For me, it makes the servers to the point of not being able to play on them.

This lag is caused on Mc-War, Survival, Hardcore games, and multiple other servers.
My suggestion is to buy more ram if you rent the servers or add more to your own, Chaps.

So please discuss this below and tell me if you are experiencingthis type of lag as well! 2015-06-27_13.32.04.png

Ping is not the server's fault.
    It is your fault.

I've seen this weird lag happening lately, it's very frustrating. Not sure what the staff will do about it. For now, I just suggest you play something else that doesn't involve lagging every 15 seconds.
It's not entirely one's fault, it depends on where the server is hosted.

When the server lags: ping goes up
When your pc lags: ping goes up
It is because when the server / pc lags it does not send any data anymore, and that means you have a high ping... but only for one or two second it depends on how bad the lag is.

More ram does not mean less lag. (Most of the time)

Plugin optimization is a key thing because intensive code is being ran on the main server thread which basically means that the server is paused until that code is finished being executed.

My answer is that plugin optimization is needed rather than more ram because with the max amount of players we have on our servers 4-6gb of ram is needed at most.

If more useless ram is added then more garbage collection will happen which basically means more lag spikes.

OVH has a very stable data center so connection issues shouldnt be a problem unless you're an AU player or you have poor internet.

Yeah, for sure this needs to be worked on, it makes the servers nearly unplayable.

Sadly, I don't play that gamemode. However, currently many of the servers have been experiencing lag.

Nice Computer specs. Are you hardwired to your internet? Sometimes if you are gaming at one end of the house and the router is on the other end of the house or in the basement it can lag.

Also, if you have multiple users gaming or streaming movies it can slow down your network.

I have my router under my desk where I have my computer on. Not the best place but still pretty good. If you are still having lag or ping problems, use WTFast. (Trusted software that boosts up your internet speed on a game.)

Shouldn't you have posted this in Discussion or something? But anyway, it's not very laggy for me, and I'm quite far away from the host. There's already 100's of posts about this too.

I lag sometimes on minigames, I have noticed that, but its not to where it is game breaking and ruins the whole point. Other than that. you might want to get your internet checked out. :grinning:

I don't think that ping has anything to do with the server, it might just be something to do with your internet/computer

Any chance you are plugged into your router? You don't want to use Wifi when gaming.
