Idea How WarZ can inprove.

    So as we all know WarZ is one of the most popular gamemodes on brawl and I have to say that it is very original and differs from all other DayZ/MineZ servers I have seen. However it does have its problems and it would severely benefit the server if they were fixed. In this thread I will present some ways that the WarZ experience can improve.

    1. Make it so grenades can kill zombies. If this was added it would be a great way to get rid of large crowds of zombies that people make to block shots. Lets admit, grenades are really only good at killing people that are camping in a small area and when in open areas there is really no point in using them in open combat in a area where you can easily move away from the grenade. However most of the time when someone is fighting in a open area they will have a crowd of zombies following him and blocking your shots. If you had grenades you could throw one that would kill most of the zombies.

    2. Make Molotov's actually have a point other than a more effective smoke grenade. Again, like grenade's. This weapon is only good for damaging, not killing, enemies that are in a small area. They are only a threat if you are in a very small place with no food and relatively bad armor. I think that they should do more than this. First instead of making a fireball like they do now, they should start a temporary fire on the ground. Also when they explode they should make an explosion that has a blast radius of about 3x3 blocks. This explosion would do 6 hearts to to someone with no armor. The entire ground in a 5x5 radius would be set on fire for 7 seconds. The fires could be extinguished like normal but if touched the fire you would still take fire damage. This is hopefully make Molotov's much more useful than the are.

    3. Reduce the flint/steel and hatchet spawn-rate. This is a rather simple solution to the massive amounts of flint and steel and hatchets that spawn. Both of these items spawn A LOT. I on average get about 6 or 7 of each item when looting most of the chests at nether on the old map. It is extremely frustrating to find flint and steel so much. Plus they are not even that useful. I mean if you are looting in a town to find flint and steel and hatchets to go though the extremely long process of getting raw beef and cooking it, you are just better off looting for 4 pasta which is just as effective as steak. I suggest that the spawn-rate of both of these items should be at least 3 times more rare than they are. They should not be removed for the sake of building massive forts out if burning wood.

    4. Swap the two army bases near the south of the map around. So as you all know on the new map there is a zone 6 almost within sight of a spawn point. While this is a great way for people to get looted up before going to a better location farther north, it is extremely frustrating at times. Since it is close to a large town (Golem) many people are in that area. And a lot of the time people get stuff at army then just run to the nearby town and spawn-kill for ELO. Now the lesser known zone 3 army camp that is near the bridge going into the jungle is significantly farther from Golem than the other army camp that is zone 6. A solution is easy, just switch their zones around so that army that we all know is zone 6 zone 3 and the one near the bridge to jungle is zone 6. Even though it might not seem like much of a distance it would still stop some spawn-killing.

    5. More staff members that are dedicated to WarZ. This is a relatively easy solution to a lot of the hacking and other malicious activity's that happen on WarZ. There should be one staff member for each WarZ server. This would most likely at least cut down the amount of rule breakers which are a major problem for WarZ.

    6. Nerf the m16. As we all know this gun is mainly op for one reason, it was no combo delay. This makes all sniper/m16 combos so effective, mainly the barret/m16. All that needs to be nerfed is the delay. Just make it have the normal delay time of about half a second. It would still be one of the highest damage dealing combos but it would be much more balanced.

    7. Remove ELO. So now there is this new feature called ELO. This determines how "skilled" you are. If this was a game where it had a elo system built in it would be a good idea. However in this it is WarZ. Since the implementation of elo I have seen, for some reason, almost 3x as many spawn-killers. I have seen teams of MVP's camping desert to get their elo up. My main reasons for this being a bad idea is that it promotes spawn-killing but also it is mainly pointless. Most people do not need an elo system to tell who is good... There is one person in that comes to mind that I will not name who never does anything but spawn-kill. He has one of the highest elo ranks...

    8. Buff the m590. Now some of you might be wondering "Why does he want the m590 to be buffed, its a tier one gun". Well here is my reason. It is by far the worst gun in WarZ. It has awful range, a 5 round clip and each shot only shoots out about 5, very low damage bullets. It takes about 3 or 4 shots to kill a new-spawn at close range with about of headshots. Its a shotgun people, they are meant for close range combat. My idea is to make each shot do 1 heart of damage, 1.5 hearts of damage on headshot. Also instead of about 5 pellets per shot it should have 8. This would make it, if most rounds hit the target, kill a new-spawn at very close range and kill a person in full leather in 2 or 3 close range shots. It should not be to OP because it is only meant to kill people in zone 2 or zone 3 towns, not kill full irons.

    9. Nerf the spas 12s' range. This is rather simple. Nerf the range of the spas 12 so the range is slightly longer than that of the m1014. If you use this gun you will see that it is rather effective at medium-close range. It would still be tier 4 quality but be a little bit more balanced.


    So there are 9 ideas that I can think of right now, leave a comment on what you think is a good idea or a bad idea. Please give CONSTRUCTIVE criticism if you dislike something.

    That's what Warz 2.0 is.

    1. This would require making an update to PVPGunPlus that we are not so interested in doing. Also, the zombie spawn rate is VERY low so I don't even know why you are complaining about the "big crowds" of zombies.

    2. We cannot because it allows people to receive god mode while their on fire because it sets a field in the EntityLiving class to 20 which is basically how many ticks before the Entity can be damaged again. If we did not set this to 20 when receiving something like fire damage then you would burn instantaneously in the lava(if anyone remembers what happened when we initially released the first guns fix).

    3. Doing this would make other rare items more common which could essentially make the loot system corrupt. Not really an option to do that either.

    4. I agree with this one, more logical to do it anyways.

    5. All of our WarZ staff members are dedicated to the servers and play as much as they can. While it would be very ideal to have enough WarZ staff members to moderate every server you have to realize that we need people that are qualified for such a position.

    6. M16 anything is not a problem anymore since some of the guns were nerfed INCLUDING the M16. The Spas M10 is a combo that needs to be fixed because it's basically an infinite combo with practically no delay :V

    7. The way ELO is calculated is much better than it was before. Hawky's team (for example only people that I see camping elektro) all range from 110 - 120 ELO and players like @RevisingMc and @Optifine have matched that ELO just from getting legit frags in the Nether. There are still small adjustments to be made but with the new feature that's being added it'll make it a lot clearer to people as to what needs to be fixed.

    8. I agree that the M590 needs to be buffed along with the AA12. Someone sprayed me with a full mag of the AA12 the other day and I barely had to eat to survive from it.

    9. This isn't needed. The damage values for the spas and m10 were nerfed so nerfing the range isn't really an issue considering that I don't really get killed from long range spas shots ( anymore ).

    I read all this but I don't want to make points on everything. I agree the M590 needs a buff though. Same with the AA12. The AA12 used to be an automatic spas at one point killing a full iron in about 3 shots. (Past), when I was running around with 1/4. I got sprayed with a full clip of AA12 when I was lagging making me look like I was going inside the block I was getting knocked back into. At first I thought I was going to die because I only remember the AA12 as the shotgun that killed full irons way to easily. I barely even lost 4 hearts, most of the other guns are fine. Except maybe the magnum and m1911. They seem similar to me. I think the Spas is fine. I can hardly kill a 3/4 leather with a spas/m10 combo unless I'm point blank. The M16 used to be fairly good back in map 2 with it's chances you can kill a full diamond with M16/Barret all headshots without really using your spas. Now even if I hit all 4 shots of the combo. If I don't hit the head they still survive. Molotovs are disabled, also right now. If you are on fire you cannot be hit. I learnt that on a practice server. The recent updates for minecrafts especially 1.8 makes it that way. In the past the elo feature was basically a test on how long you survive and how many people you kill. Because back then if you died even as a higher rank from a bambi, the moment you die it all just resets. Now even if you die a few times you can still keep up. It doesn't neccesary show your skill level because a lot of people boost or camp low tier areas to raise their elo. The staff on it are fine, most of the tension from 2014 has lowered quite a bit (not saying a whole lot but just a small portion.) If you find a hacker, that's fine just call me when I'm on, I got my editor working again. I see Mario and poaches atleast 4 times each day (mainly fighting though ;v).
    If the army camps were swapped, everyone would be more in a rush to get a spawn there and I always see a person in the army camp (lower) no matter what. Everyone in electro would basically have barrets too. I don't mind the hatchet because when my team and I want to mess around we go and build a fort. I'm still going to find time to make a skybase though.

    Soz for not writing this in any order what's so ever.

    1. I can't disagree with this point. Zombies rarely make huge clusters, and if the players want to sacrifice a decent amount of armor durability for the cost of not getting oneshot, so be it.

    2. Again. Molotovs cause a bug where you can't be shot while on fire, so they're disabled. I might suggest removing them from chests until they're fixed.

    3. Again, agreed.

    4. Yes, please. It's still a runnable distance but would also prevent lots of spawn killing.

    5. Okay look. There's no disagreeing that WarZ has the least moderation (although that is changing with the cost of poor moderation) but I feel that lots of bad moderators is far worse than a few good ones. Often, when I was a mod, I would feel like I was the only one actually doing anything, as I would be moderating a server and 3 or 4 mods from Team Holy would log in and start, rather than helping, having their own conversation. Many times I would explicitly ask these mods "I'm having trouble moderating 5 people at once, mind if you help?" And there'd be no response or they'd log out after the fight they had been in. In the mod handbook it says that Moderating > Playing when you're a mod. That's the price of getting it. I felt alienated like I was doing something wrong, especially from all the flak I got when I had done something wrong. (One of my least proud moments was when Valxore was killed by someone (can't remember who) and said "enjoy the [synonym for crap] but it was censored to a four-letter phrase. I wasn't sure if it was DDoS or the aforementioned word, so I banned him for it, not wanting to take chances. Then he got on his alt and scolded me ;-;.) And then when I try to improve the WarZ outlook on people in general by posting a thread on my alt about it, I almost get demoted for like farming! I had been suffering from everyone around me, forced into a community of moderators that I felt only moderated for the free MVP. That's why I said I was thinking about resigning. But that's a whole other story, my point is that the moderation on WarZ is extremely poor and really needs a few staff meetings to make them actually work for a change.

    6. Spas m10 is a fine combo, it's hard to kill full ds because they have to bo so close. I've only killed about 4 full ds / 3/4 ds with it. M16 is also fine as it is. No disagreeing there.

    7. But there are still plenty of people with < 110 ELO (Me included) who don't spawncamp and don't die all that frequently, at least without getting a kill or 2. The sheer number of kills you get spawncamping is enough to boost ELO significantly. And ELO has a few bugs, such as periodically dropping your ELO to 0, taking ELO for killing at zone 6 (This has happened to me before) and also just causing a lot more reasons to call someone bad. WarZ does not need any more reasons to call someone bad.

    8. Mhm. t1 shotguns are too weak. (We'll ignore the time that I killed a 3/4 diamond at elektro with five-seven and m590 when he had mtn dew)

    9. Shotgun range is fine as is, I agree.
    Erm, wat? No. WarZ 2.0 is coming out "soon" and will be essentially WarZ but more realistic.

    Mario explained this perfectly, a few changes need to be made but a lot are a bit pointless.
