July Contest - Skywars [ENDED]

    July Contest - Skywars
    ​
    Hey Brawlers,

    To go along with our Skywars server revamp, we are going to be hosting a competition for new Skywars maps. Contrary to our old Skywars, these new maps will have 12 people (as opposed to 8). To get started, simply join one of our build servers, right click the emerald, and create a Skywars map. This will give you a template map to build your map off of, and show you the requirements for each map. Please note the maximum and minimum sizes of each island.

    Try to give your map a unique theme. We are not looking for a grassy default theme, but rather something such as one of the examples shown below.

    To participate in this contest, simply log on Build and be sure to use the Skywars template using the emerald. It is important that you do not change the map title, as that is how we will find your map.

    The winners of this contest will be chosen in one week (The deadline is 12 AM EST on the 29th July 2015).

    Prizes:
    • 1st place: 3 months of global ELITE
    • 2nd place: 2 months of global ELITE
    • 3rd place: 1 month of global ELITE
    • Any map that we use: 1 month of global MVP (if you already have ELITE+, you get 2 more weeks added to your current rank)

    Few Questions (I'm not the best skywars player)

    1. For spawn what block is it/does it matter
    2. what are the dia blocks in center
    3. Are all Islands perfectly symetrical or can we place resources at dif locations per island/change apperance

    If I have anymore questions I'll ask :-D

    Time to spend 12 hours each day perfecting mine.. OCD in this case is the worst especially when building and making a SW map.

    On creation, name it whatever you want. When its created, the name will be different and in a different field your map name will become the map title :smile:

    Use bedrock with a sign on top with the word "spawn" as the top line. Make sure all spawns are in the sky as we will be using the classic cage drop system.
    You are allowed one diamond block on the center island. The diamond block in the very center is just a marker.
    Keep all islands relatively symmetrical. The resources can be at different locations, however, the amount should be constant.
