    It's all very simple. A twitter member named HOICSquad has decided to start hitting off Mojang sessions and also some of the top servers (Mineplex, Hypixel, and The Hive are already victims). If you're having trouble connecting, that's why. You can still play Minecraft but only in single player/realms. Sorry for everyone who's having trouble connecting to Brawl or other servers. Hopefully the sessions will be back online soon.

    UPDATE: HOICSquad's Twitter account has been suspended/deleted.

    GUYS
    If you need help logging on to Brawl, go to the individual server ips such as 5.mc-warz.com or 5.mc-war.com
    It works. Then go to the /lobby from there if you want to log into another server.

    That doesn't work as well if the Minecraft Login and Authentication servers are down.

    Authentication and login servers are what allow for you to do multiplayer servers. Without those, you've got a problem. And for the love of god don't log out.

    EDIT: As of 4:20, the service is join off-on. If you're lucky, you can connect.

    If some kid is ddosing a copyright game which is illegal the minimum prison sentence is 5years longest is 14 years

    People are emailing Mojang about the person. Mojang also tweeted they're also aware of the situation.

    Hehe, whatever no-life keepsdownloadingstuffonthecomputer friendless ignorant 10 year old behind this is getting arrested hard. ddos is one thing, but ddosing an entire company? An average network hacker would have the intelligence to figure out the consequences, and either go "nah" or extremely lock and barricade their house so that nobody can come in (and even then it's no problem getting in)

    He made it very clear that all he wanted was to be "famous" - telling big servers that he wouldn't stop attacking their network if they didn't put his Twitter on their front page, for example. His account has been deleted though, so hopefully it'll mean that he's going to stop.

    Well yeah.... that sucks. Another thing is that as long as this genius kid keeps hitting mojang or whatever offline, there isn't any point in even trying to connect. Yeah sure, you might be able to connect, but the servers will be mostly empty due to the vast majority of the other people not being able to connect. Ofcourse, if you don't mind playing mc-war with 3 other people, you can give it a try....
