Creative going down: Lag issues, global system, and stuffs

It's VERY hard to crash the server with async WE. Trust me. That thing runs like a 1980's fax machine. Slow, but no matter what you spill on it, it just won't break. However, sometimes we do get allot of operations happening at once. Perhaps if you want to do a massive operation (over xyz blocks) you have to enter a queue and wait in line to do it?

 

This would probably do the trick

 

Creative isn't going down, it is having problems. Build offers free World Edit, but from last time I logged on, WE wasn't working. Also, if it's a plugin you're looking for. I'm not quite sure if @Chap must approve of them first, or if lead developer @Brittan (who is also admin) may accept new plugins. Mods don't have access to add any new plugins.

(I'm aware @Mario is Mod and developer. I do not know much about the developer rank. So Mario is an exception.)

Ah, WE is working, my friend. Has been for about 3 weeks now.

 

1) Chat Spam
Joining creative means an awful lot of spam in chat involved, and advertising. In MCPvP, as I remembered, saying "TP For ____" is sort of...restricted to lobby only. Will this still apply?

-From what I've seen, you are allowed to advertise in global, but only if you don't spam it. You get muted if you're spamming it.

2) WE
In creative, there is NO free world edit, because you have to apply. But since build has free world edit for everyone, I'm not intently saying bad things about failed applications for WE, but won't people spam it? After all, build crashes almost every day due to world edit lag.

-It does crash a lot, but I believe they're working on ways to fix this, seeing as MCBuild is still in beta.

3) Global System
If global is...global, and local is local, what about creative? Creative has only full talk, (I think...sorry) so will it be full out blurt, or still local+global?

-I'm not entirely sure what this means? There is a local and a global chat system in MCBuild. How it works: When you are in the same world as someone else and you talk without doing /g or /a, you talk in global. But if you do say /a or /g before your message, you talk in global. There's also a way to disable global chat, finally.

4) Systems
Will any plugins interfere?

-I don't know how to answer this, so I'll leave it to some actual staff.

Well.... No... They're not really merging to become two of the same thing... Build and all of it's system is flat out replacing Creative from what I've come to understand.

 

Nope, I'm just saying that Build is it's own thing and it's replacing Creative. However many build servers it's going to have is a mystery to me. So Build as you see it right now (not completely) is what the new Creative is going to be.

 

I hope this clears some things up.

 

Creative has Local & Global as well. Correct me if I am wrong, but from what you're saying, I'm getting that you think Creative only has Global. It's just Creative's global is [Shout] and local is [L]. Basically means Build and Creative BOTH have local & global chat.

 

Once MCBuild has all the bugs worked out, and the builds in creative can be moved to build (which is their plan), creative will be phased out. No more creative. They are working behind the scenes to my knowledge creating schematics to builds done in creative so the builders do not lose those builders, some are very extensive. Not sure if their plan for moving the mass amount of builds will work, but I know they are doing their best.

WE is open to everyone in MCBuild however it is limited to 30,000 blocks so as not to have people over utilize it. WE over utilized has brought down the entire server in creative with those privileged to use it by gaining rank. There will be no rank system in Build I.e adv builder, we1, we2, we pro which was achieved through an application process. Build plots are 512 x 512, but they are referred to as maps not plots. For a builder in creative who builds for fun and not maps it's there plot to fill as their imagination dictates. WE is powerful that is for sure, the server needs to have the capacity to run it without interfering with the rest of the site. Change is a constant, with Microsoft owning the game one never knows what's next. Hope this helps.
