I think that spectator mode should be used more for donor perks. While in spectator mode you can't do anything so I see no reason not to use this.

Heres the servers I think it should be used on:

Minecraft party: Whenever a donator loses they should be put into spectator mode so they can actually go down to the ground and watch.
KitBrawl: Donators should have access to /spectate. They can fly around watching people pvp, recording hackers, watching 1v1's, etc.
Skywars: Whenever donators die they should have an option to spectate or to be sent back to the skywars spawn.
Hub: Donators should have access to /spectate. They can explore the hub or whatever, no reason not to let them have it.

For those of you who don't know what spectator mode is, here is a basic rundown:
You are able to fly around, completely invisible to everyone other than other spectators. You go through blocks and you can't interact with anything (aka you cant set off pressure plates, break blocks, push mobs, block arrows etc. You just go through everything).

If you want to check it out for yourself go onto your own world with cheats on and do /gamemode 3 (name).

Those are my ideas! Is there any servers that you think I missed?

I think that both of those would ruin strategy, that's why I left them out. You could tell your friend exactly what other people are doing and ruin a persons trap or something of that sort. On CTF you could say exactly what their defense is and stuff like that. It would be better to not do it on those gamemodes (imo).

Maybe make it like sabotage where spectators can't use chat for CTF. I see your point for HG though.

Most teams will use Skype or teamspeak, so boosting can still happen.

It could be disabled for any team play. Only useable for casual CTF games.

Minecraft Party already has a spectator mode for all players.

Why would spectate skywars if you loose? You can easily just start another round. As well you can help people out when you're spectating.

I don't see the need in the hub. You can double jump all over the place, really we don't need spectate there.

In the end, if we do add spectating for these servers, why shouldn't all players have access to it?

Could possibly be game breaking for each game mode if you could spectate. In CTF, players could watch flag rooms, flag carriers, and recoverers to give some very vital information to teammates. Similarly in HG, players could watch out for traps and towers and warn their friends of upcoming dangers.

Vital information that could easily be provided by a ninja too in CTF. They can go invisible to watch people without them knowing. This would honestly only affect team gameplay, in which it could be disabled. I see your HG point though.

Overwatch in KitBrawl konfirm? These ideas seem really cool though, +1 from me (all my time going hidden and trying to catch hackers wasted :stuck_out_tongue:).

This would only be useful in Kit-Brawl to rec hackers.

When I choose kit hidden, you can still see my name. :c

I have to give this a +1 though,
but for some servers like ctf, HG, and survival it should be for staff only in my opinion. Because then you can just go through blocks in survival and find bases like that or you can say "Oh this player is coming behind you to get the flag" etc. Not really fair...
    But still a +1

In CTF, there's this technique to look behind you. It's called hitting f5 twice. in a casual CTF match, there's nothing a spectator who can't use chat can really effectively do, and what they can do is no more game breaking than having an engineer meadow outside spawn.

It would just generally be a cool feature for donators. (IMO)

If someone was on Teamspeak, Skype or any other communication service than minecraft it would be gamebreaking.

@Nxy I agree. That alone should tell them it's not a good idea.

Guys, having a ninja behind you is effectively the same thing. There is very little to no perk to having a spectator versus a ninja, even with Skype or teamspeak.

I disagree, I think its much different. I think spectator mode on ctf in particular is a bad idea. @Miskey and @Birdgirl what do you guys think? [
