Kit Idea: Sniper (nerfed archer of CTF.)

    Sniper: Sneaky shooter who is very clean with head shots! Deals high damage but can't take much in return! Can be avoided!

    Description: Sniper is an all out genius! With the help of his scope, (Slowness something) he can zoom in the have a better chance of sniping. Sadly, his scope is not sighted in right! You have to figure out where the bullets are going!

    Pros: earns sniper bullets: arrows renamed. Normal arrows do not have the same effect on the sniper bow. Possible 1-shot if hit the person in right area in head(for helmet wearers.)
    Great for towering!
    Receives steady amount of arrows!

    Cons: Weakness(1,2,3 etc.) which means 1 hit from an iron sword!
    Bullets can recharge randomly from 3-10 mins! Either you gain bullets fast or you have to play the jeopardy theme song!
    Fall Damage pretty much auto kills!
    After shooting, you get slowness III for 15-30 seconds
    Scope off target ;(
    Cannot move while scoping
    Optifine does not work with this kit (zooming w/ optifine)

    Counter: shift and block with any sword! This will limit the damage! (No helm, .5 hearts leather helm, 1.5 hearts. Gold helm, 3 hearts Iron helm, 5 hearts diamond helm, 6 hearts. Wood sword, .5 hearts stone sword, 2 hearts gold sword, 3 hearts Iron sword, 3.5 hearts diamond sword 4.5 hearts.) health does not overlap.

    Item starts with: Sniper Rifle and possible Bullet?

    CD: wait 3-10 mins for new bullet.

    Other things to know: could possibly bring new aspect to HG (traps,tower, etc) win feasts easily!

    Render distance can be edited so it can not go too far go easy 1 shot kills

    Things I'd like to see: I want the bullet noise to have a sound! Something semi loud and sounds something like a firework Pop! And when it hits a player, I think it should make an anvil noise (similar to anchor?) if it misses, it should make the noise of when the block is placed!

    Neat idea, maybe make it so that when you are holding your sniper rifle you are frozen in place and are slowed for a few seconds after handling it. Sounds like it's a more skill based kit which I like.

    Thanks for using the format!

    I like this.
    It does have a lot of complexity and skill involved as you said, which i do enjoy seeing in a kit.

    My only qualms is the one shot capabilities, if any of you remember old cookiemonster/assassin, being able to one shot can become massively, massively overpowering even if you have equal debuffs to support it. It ends the game for te victim instantly and its pretty difficult to fight against.

    But you never know, this kit could be an exception.

    Im in interested to see more discussion on it :stuck_out_tongue:

    aha! But this is where this kit is different than cookie monster and assassin! With Cookie Monster, you could get a cookie basically every time you broke grass! Assassin required no skill to be able to auto kill! With sniper, you get bullets due to time, not what you do with the time. Should I also add the bullets fly faster than normal bullets? :smile:
    with the slowness for zooming, it practically makes it so you can't move, only like .0001 blocks a second :wink:

    Edit: Optifine Doesn't work with kit

    Edit: Render Distance limited to X amount of chunks.

    I'd also like to point out that optifine can't be disabled, because it is a clientside mod that is accepted by the staff.

    Also, with the nausea / blindness after-effect, I'm pretty sure Brawl want to stay away from nausea because it can cause some examples of motion sickness (thats what mcpvp did anyway). Blindness is also another avoided effect. And for 30s-1min I don't think this kit would work, so perhaps rethinking that will help :grinning:

    then should they have slowness? I just don't want them attempting a "quick scope" then running away quickly. Also, i thought you could block optifine with a script, meaning with the kit, you cannot press the key for your optifine? I don't know, I had heard that somewhere in another community

    With berserker as well, when you killed a player, you got nausea 3 or something as well

    Edit: @Rytheria corrected me on a certain problem. Changed potion effects to 15-30 secs and slowness 3.

    Yeah, the optifine script doesn't work like that under my awareness.
    And form what I'm aware with your berserker argument, it was originally nausea 2 when the kit was first created but then players were getting some forms of motion sickness so they changed it. (FROM MEMORY!)

    I like the changes you've made, this seems to be forming into a pretty interesting kit :grinning:
    I still think 15-30 seconds is a bit much though, you have to be very careful with how long effects last and if they would be too detrimental to the game, but that could just be my preference and experience.

    Still, I think 10 secs is too slow of a 'recharge' time

    Too short *

    Bringing to top* not really any negative feedback so anyone need anything?

    It'd be cool if they could, but there should be a msg flooding the chat saying, sniper scoping! Watch out! And the person should start with a dyed helmet that cannot come off.

    I like the idea, I just don't think that HG needs any more kits atm.

    true but nothing is happening with hg atm while all other gamemodes are getting remakes.
