Here are the facts as established:
-Previous to the AFC Patriots-Colts championship game, all footballs used by the patriots were fine (air pressure wise) as certified by the referee.
-At half time, 11 out of 12 of the game balls were below the legal air pressure limit.
-After new balls were provided to the Patriots, they turned a small leaden into a runaway game, eventually whooping the colts.
-Tom Brady 100% denied any knowledge of the deflation
-Bill Belicheck (Patriots head coach and general manager) explained the deflation was cause by natural occurrences using the ideal gas law, PV = nRT or Pressure times Volume of a gas = the number of molecules times a constant (a fixed number) times the temperature of the gas.
2 aides, one of them Jim McNally, were accused of deflating the balls and were fired.
-Ted Wells, an investigator hired by the NFL, looked into the deflation.
-He interviewed Tom Brady but never asked for his telephone.
-He interviewed McNally but never quoted him in the infamous "Wells report".
-Tom Brady allegedly destroyed his old phone, likely because he gets a new one every few months for privacy reasons.
-Roger Goodell decided to suspend Tom Brady for 4 games despite no concrete non circumstantial evidence to prove that Brady did or was aware of any deflation, meanwhile earlier suspending Ray Ride (who was videotaped beating his girlfriend) for only 3 (after appeals).
-The appeal process resulted in no change in the suspension, likely because Brady refused to admit guilt.
-Tom Brady and the NFL Player's Association sued the NFL in a manhattan district court overseen by Judge Richard Berman
-The Judge subsequently RIPPED the NFL for having no concrete evidence to suspend him.
-Tom Brady admitted he could've been more cooperative with the investigation.

Now IMO Tom Brady didn't know anything. Why? Because, as the saying goes, innocent until proven guilty, and there is no proof at the moment beyond "well maybe it could've happened".

The Patriots play their Pre-season opener against the Packers tonight (Thursday) and according to his Facebook, Brady is likely getting the start along with rising star quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo.

    Thoughts? Opinions?

    I don't watch football but...
This whole issue is really stupid, how does a deflated ball even help you win?

LOL like Brady would ever need better grip. And he had a good enough grip on the NFL's footballs to whoop the colts.

The NFL players union and Brady will win.......you look at guys who beat their wifes/girlfriends and they only get 2 games.

Personally, I think he cheats but the NFL is coming down too hard.

    It will tarnish his legacy.

The NFL just wanted to please the public by suspending Brady. They really didn't have any evidence, and shouldn't have suspended him.

When the temperature is in the 40s, its raining, there's a freezing wind chill, and your hands are frozen, a football is going to be hard as a rock and slippery as hell. Drench a football in water and leave it outside when its really cold, let your hands get numb, and try and throw it. It is very hard to grip the ball when compared to normal conditions. By deflating the football, a quarterback can obtain a better grip (even with numb fingers). Deflating a ball lets your fingers sink into the ball ever more slightly, softening the ball and increasing grip/catching ability.

Regardless if Tom Brady knew that the balls were purposely deflated, he at least knew the balls were deflated. I believe it was Aaron Rodgers who stated that (keyword is believe, might not have been Rodgers but one NFL quarterback) if you snapped him a deflated ball, he would immediately feel that the ball is different. Think about the Colts player who picked up the ball first and knew instantly that something didn't feel right. For how many ever snaps Brady has handled, he'll sense a difference at least.
Also, the Pats would have won the game anyway. There was no need to deflate the balls. Belicheck probably knows too, because I highly doubt anything would slip under him.
One more thing, if my memory is correct, and Ravens also stated that some balls felt deflated during there postseason game with the Pats as well, but Harbaugh let the charges go (or something like that).

I don't think Brady knew. And he did better with fully inflated balls.
