I've been using it for a while, and I do think it slowed my laptop by a bit, but honestly, it's really not worth it much if you already have windows 7. I haven't really noticed anything significant from upgrading from windows 7.

Let's say you bought a computer from Dell with say Windows 7. The hardware inside the computer is designed to work with the OS. If you updgrade a computer you had for 3 years to a newer OS your performace would drop because the hardware cannot support a newer OS because the hardware was designed to work with the OS already on the pc. It's common sense.

Sorry, but that has no basis in reality. Hardware isn't designed for a specific OS. Windows 10 is typically more or equally efficient compared to previous iterations and has a smaller footprint, which makes it a better choice from a performance standpoint (at least once you turn some of the settings off, such as p2p updates).

What I meant was the hardware was chosen specifically because they work best with the chosen OS. I didn't upgrade from XP to 8 when windows 8 came out because that would brick my old pc.

Plus Windows 10 spies on you. Seriously, type that into a search engine for proof.

Ok, I concur that with really old or really low-end PCs it may be best to stick with the original OS, but it isn't the case that you should "never ever upgrade your OS." Look up benchmarks and you can see that Windows 10 is significantly more efficient than XP, Vista, and 7 and slightly better than 8.

You're having that chunk flashing glitch too?

I think Windows 10 really messed up some of my video drivers but other than that it's nice.
Most tablets were designed for Windows 8, but nothing has really been designed for Windows 7 or 10.

    I'll just stick with win7
I'm scared that some broken update for win10 is going to screw up my computer (it's already happened to some people)

Yes, Windows 10 is more efficient. But I will stick with Windows 8.1 personally. If I want Windows 10 I'll get it when it's actually released and it doesn't spy on you. (seriously, they track your internet searches...*shudders*)

True. Very true, good sir. Also, now I can't enter a simple internet search without feeling that I'm silently being judged by Microsoft :stuck_out_tongue:

Windows 10 actually won't disable pirated software that was a rumor, but still you shouldn't be using cracked or pirated software in the first place.
