How to Spot a Tryhard

Well, this is a bit random, but I've been putting bits of thinking into this, so with no further due how to spot a try hard!

1. Always post in the same place

By this I mean that this person almost NEVER posts in Off-Topic or rates Creative Applications, mainly because they may have found out or saw that posting in these discussions does not increase their post count.

2. The most utterly useless posts

Yep, you could find this out pretty early, all they post is like "sure" "okay" "nice job" "reports hackers here (link)". I mean you could be random at some points, but don't make it so that like every single post you make is USELESS, you can go in Off-Topic for that.

3. Failing at being helpful

This one really pisses me off... the type of guy who just posts in the forums and tries (or at least I think) to be helpful and fails. Like it's okay if you were trying to help him, but most people just do it to "appear" very helpful (this happens to people who just join and are trying to go for mod). Like if a mod or some other player already answered the person's question just leave it, don't reply the same thing, I'm sure the guy knows what he did wrong. If no one has helped him so far just be like "Wrong section bud =P, you post hackers here (link)". Don't be a total robot that copies and pastes the same thing.

4. Repeat messages

Back in the day, I used to do this alot, I got a warning for it and learned from it . This is mainly saying the same thing over and over and over, I did this with teams, constantly saying "Good Luck" when I was a tryhard. Please don't do this...

5. Making threads about "how I can improve myself"

Some people may disagree with this, but I'll tell you one thing, VERY FEW people actually make these kind of threads for the right purpose, plus even if that person does post it for the right purpose... all these people have one thing in common, they can't maturely handle their own problems the right way. You got denied in a mod app, you should be smart enough to know what you did wrong and not posting a whole thread to make people think you are very sorry and need help. If you make those kind of threads you don't even deserve to really be mod, but that's just my opinion...

6. Intro/Outro Guy

All this person does is like, "Welcome" to like every single frikin Intro, I guess this could apply to the guy who keeps on repeating everything, also to Outros, like if someone is quitting, say something that they will remember, if they leave saying that "This community sucks" then you can be like "kthxbai skid". And if someone just joined sure say welcome... but like don't say the same thing to every single Intro... spice it up...

7. Makes a mod app right after joining the forums

Self-exclamatory sadly...

8. Repeated conversation

This skid is just begging XenPhoro for posts, like he makes a continuous conversation and like grabbing it by a string so it doesn't go off-topic and get deleted. Like he's desperate to get those 300 posts like his life depends on it. These posts are mostly very off-topic, but if this guy is a professional tryhard he would hold the conversation topic up by a string like I stated. Don't even reply to this dude, he's hungry, and will post 3 times until you reply so he can post another 3 times.

Well, that's it, I didn't mean to offend anyone that much, I didn't name anyone in this so I hope you understand what I'm saying and you can spot a... tryhard .

 

Yea, the one thing I really hate when someone gets mod is their personality, sure you can be helpful. But now they act like their admins and they totally fake EVERYTHING. Even some mods, but VERY few mods are tryhards to getting promoted and such... this one "person" got mod, and whenever I was near him he was really acting so responsible and being a total faker around other people, you don't need to do that, you got mod... act like yourself. There's a difference between being helpful and kind and just being greedy/tryhard/faker.

 

Shhhhhh, I totally was not talking about him.
