Surely you higher-ups have seen these threads. There's been a lot, probably hundreds of threads complaining about brawl's development throughout the years. Even some seasoned players are leaving/have left because of this.

Most threads revolve back to the point of war 2.0 and many players are willing to overlook the fact that it's taken forever for this so called "new server" to be released and are willing view at least the slightest bit of evidence that it's actually being worked on in order to have a bit of hope left for its release.

So my question(s) to you guys is: What do you guys do with these threads? Do you even take them into account? Is there proof that new servers are actually being worked on? If so, could you give this community a tiny bit of hope by showing said proof?

    We need something.

We read all of these threads, often reply to them and memorize the points to figure out what the community's main issues are.
We take them into account, but often rants only show the opinion of one person or a minority.
Regarding your request for proof, a small showcase of the War 2.0 database was posted here:

That works. I was hoping to see something more, like something in-game lol. I guess time will tell if it's actually real and people are working on it.
    Thanks rock.
If you take them into account, how come there's been so many rants over the years and very little change?

I mean, as I said, we've had some of the oldest players make these types of rants. One prime example of this is Gynamo's thread. About 50+ people agreed with his outstanding points... the outcome of it? A few mods reply to it (one mod even messes up..) and we get yet another really... uh complicated answer from an admin.

In my opinion, though, that's not the worst part. 7 out of the 50+ people that agreed with his points are staff members. So, if even the staff wants this update, why not confront the higher-ups about it?

The threads are just stressful for staff to even deal with. The developers don't read the forums, but we do and we see the same conversations happening over and over again.
    • War was good
    • War is now bad
    • War isn't getting updated
    • War 2.0 is not here
The front-end staff (Mods, Admins, etc) cannot control the actual release of the War server. We have already done the most we can to assist in the development of "War 2.0", but we cannot code. So, we end up with all of the blame being forwarded to the faces of the community, which is fine, but we cannot respond back to every rant or complaint for the new version of War.

We could talk for days about the endless planned features, awesome expandable backend, and customized Spigot to allow for new bullet physics, but that won't do much because the front-end staff has no control over when the developer is going to finish.

I'll go ahead and just expand on the issues of War, from the beginning...

orange451 initially coded War with a minimal amount of Java and Bukkit knowledge. The server wasn't planned in full, so features were added as the server continued to be developed and grow. What begun as a kit based gun server developed into War with clans, perks, and equipment. That all was fine, but the server begun to grow more and more and become deprecated as Bukkit updated and the original code stayed.

As time went on big features and such begun to halt, but small updates still happened regularly. Though, the server was beginning to become less and less efficient. The code wasn't up to par anymore with the new standards between Java and Bukkit.

We begun to discuss creating the second iteration of War, War 2.0. orange451 begun by refactoring and coding new parts of the server. Looking back on Google Drive, I can find todo lists and feature additions dated between May 16, 2013 and August 17, 2013. orange451's progress was superior to the current version of War, but still lacking in some areas. orange451 did finish this version of War and begun to release it as follows:
The test ended up being unsuccessful because of lag issues at the end of the match. orange451 begun to debug and work on that, and the other issues, but we then ran into:

    And another update in February:
So, the "War 2.0" that everyone was anticipating was up to orange451, but he failed to resolve the issues with the lag at the end of the match (which was the last major issue). He begun to become more and more inactive as a developer and he was eventually fired while the project was switched to being developed by killer_99, or melsha.

I'll continue into the current issues in a moment.
