    Brawl Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread?
    - Indeed, all of it, in-depth.

    What is your in-game name?
    - Flavorous

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them.
    - Yes, my previous name was "kfact".

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account?
    - Nope, and no one ever will.

    How old are you?
    - 15, will be turning 16 on March 4th.

What time zone are you in?
    - EST -5:00 (Eastern Standard Time, I live near Knoxville, TN)

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages?
    - I am native to the English language, however familiar with basic French and High-School level Latin. I took Pre-French in Middle school (Basic numbers, letters, and simple conversation) - and then took Latin 1 my Freshman Year, currently taking Latin 2.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft?
    - To begin, it started way back in 2010 or 2011. I was so bored with my life over the summers with absolutely nothing to do, so I would just sit there watching Youtube videos such as Jenna Marbles, Tobuscus, SkythekidRS, and of course, Minecraft. I got interested, so I kept on watching more and more, trying to figure out the purpose of this game, then in 7th grade my friend Faith had introduced to me MCPvP, and at that same time I met one of my closest friends to-date Daniel. We would play Hunger Games non-stop, and we would actually play "Marathons" so to speak... anywhere between 5-20 games all in a row in a single day. It almost felt like an addiction trying to play this; not only winning was what made me want to play more, but it was the rush of adrenaline you get from being in fierce battles against another person who is most likely going to beat you. Soon afterwards, I was playing Capture the Flag, introduced to me by Isszzy. I joined some teams, and made my own team twice. It took a great deal to play this, and it was quite exhausting. So what I started doing was tried to make CtF maps - all denied for years until a few weeks ago. After about 2 years of playing I was getting more and more familiar with the biggest aspects of Minecraft and as of today, I would consider myself to be highly experienced and knowledgeable about Minecraft, not only at Hardcore games, but the fundamentals of Minecraft and its community.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?
    - Along with being in 7th grade my friend, Tyler, had owned a server for about 3 years and I was an Admin on it. It was moderately successful until it shut down. We had our off and ons, but it was overall pretty successful. I enjoyed running the server from beginning to end.
What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status?
    - I will provide a peaceful, justified, anti-hate, anti-spam, and overall better environment for all users. I absolutely love the people in this community, and I feel like even without Moderator, I'm already making an impact.

However, If I were to be promoted, I will be able to fulfill some of the following:

    - Chat Moderation - As of right now, I can't do much but kindly as people to quit doing whatever they're doing (Spamming, Swearing, Flamming, etc.)
    - Helping other Players - I already do this, but I will be able to better assist players with World Edit and my current building skills (That are indeed improving), and to provide feedback on game-mode (or non) maps.

Have you ever used a hacked client before?
    - Yes, I used Nodus on McPVP about 3 years ago... I don't intend on using another client again.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why?
    - Yes, once. MCPvP. Within the first month or so of playing, I felt like I wasn't any good and couldn't last anymore than 5 minutes in a game of Hardcore Games. However, I later purchased an unban, and began learning more about MCPvP and I never made the same mistake again.

What do you consider your greatest strength?
    - I'm very honest, mature, polite, organized, and I describe myself as a leader or very leader-like. Especially at my school, we thrive in a project-base learning environment, where you are basically forced to be in groups/teams. I thrive in this because of my leadership qualities, as I think highly of myself and the people around me, ultimately bringing the best out of every situation.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
    - Once I start something, I don't stop until the job is done. The biggest reason why I don't stop until the job is done, is because I have this agonizing feeling of excitement and guilt. Where I want to finish, but I feel bad for every single second wasted not taking steps to accomplish a said goal.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl?
    - Since the merging of MCPvP and Brawl, I've been highly active on MCBuild (Several hours each week).

Which Brawl servers are you most active on?
    - CTF and Build, mostly Build.
I have made some maps in the past (and very recently), if you would like to check them out, they are as follows:

    Map 191125 (Divergent Strike)
    Map 229617 (SubZero)
    Map 110858 (Soul)

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame?
    - Anytime on weekends, I tend to go to sleep early on Sunday during the school year, and I'm normally on my computer from the time I get home from school until bed time (Unless I have homework). However, during the summer atleast 60%-70% of most days is playing or being busy on my computer with personal jobs.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? - Depending on the situation...
    - If the player is developing chat offenses, warn them via in-game chat, and temporarily mute them for each offense afterwards. (5-10-15-20-... minutes). In this process, I would take a screen shot (record if able to) each time an offense is made. Once say, 5 offenses are made, I would consult a Moderator or Admin with the evidence for further disciplinary action.
    - If they are Hacking, Open up my recording software, record and send the video to someone who can handle the ban process (SMOD+).
What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
    - If a person is breaking the forum rules such as spamming, flaming, cursing, advertising, etc, I would lock the thread and PM them through the forums AND in-game (If I see them) that they are breaking the rules by doing "_________", ask them kindly not to do it again, and send them a link to the Forum rules just as a reference.
    - If said person has posted Illegal (18+) Material, I would message someone of power through Skype or Teamspeak as quickly as possible to lock the thread and handle the situation from there.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -
    - User not using a valid or their real IGN? Nicely ask them to change it to their real IGN.
    - If it's some sort of chat-spamming, mic-spamming, voice changing, etc, I would kindly asking them to turn it off/stop, if they refuse, seclude them from the group to another channel and warn them to stop. If they don't listen, necessary disciplinary actions will be taken, such as a temp-mute or jail.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue?
    - Tell an Admin over forums, message a higher ranking Moderator on Skype as soon as possible. Once that's done, I should remain for as long as possible and warn players that any abuse to the glitch will result in some form of punishment. If possible, take screenshots and record. If players fail to comply with the warnings, immediate disciplinary measures will be taken - no questions asked. Also, if there is no response from Moderators or Admins, I will continue to stay on said server to make sure no one is abusing the glitch, teleporting to players making sure they aren't doing so.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - Two

What is the date of the last application you submitted?
    - 7/17/2015

Do you have a working microphone?
    - Yes!

Are you able to record and upload videos?
    - Indeed, I have Bandicam and a computer able to handle it perfectly well!

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work?
    - I indeed know how they work, and as far as I'm concerned, Junior Moderators (on MCBuild) have access to /mute and /kick, if I have any problems with commands, I can just ask a fellow Moderator.

Anything else we should know about you?
    - I'm from MCPvP and I'm very familiar with build, and the casual flow of the servers. This will be my third year playing on MCPvP related servers (Build, CTF, HG). Also, I do tend to watch forums a lot, browsing topics and giving constructive feedback if I can. It's a very peaceful community if I do say so myself. I have high hopes for this application, and I feel that I deserve a chance.

Thank you very much for taking your time to read this,
    Sincerely,
    N

I would work on in-game maturity when handling notorious and annoying rule breakers, as well as forums activity in the MinecraftBuild section. Additionally, your application is copy and pasted (mostly) from your previous one, and I am unsure if you received permission to recycle it.

I've been working on it - If you saw me today, I've been sick. However that does not excuse my irritable behavior, I feel I do fairly well when handling "Notorious" rule breakers; I get the job done when no-one else can/will.

I also was not aware I needed permission to recycle my previous application? I changed a few things accordingly, however I still maintain the same past, ideologies, and procedures. If I started a fresh application, it would be the exact same information.

I look on the MinecraftBuild forums from time to time, however I'm not responding to every single thread - simply because my input is not needed on 80% of them.

My main goal is to learn more from my mistakes rather than my success. My methods are far different than other Moderators, I hope you enjoy uniqueness

Although I don't really know you as maybe Doges does, this doesn't mean that I'm going to give you a -1. You're not as active on the forums as we ask applicants, however you seem to be a great guy who likes to help other people. I shall give you one advice - try to step your posts up by replying to some threads but I think you already know how to. Build is not one of the server I use to play on, also I don't want to make my mind up on something I unfortunately do not know. Possibly because of our different timezones, I've only seen you a couple of times on Teamspeak but I'm not going to be harsh against you! Your application is really well written, you learnt lots of things about Brawl and what a power of a Jmod provides and those things merit a +1. Unfortunately, given that Doges reproached you for your immaturity, this let me undecided, therefore, like Doges vote, going to give you a +0.

I think we can all agree we have some bad days - and those days may reflect my behavior in-game. As I said before, its in-excusable and I'm not asking that you forgive me for it. I'm on teamspeak normally just afk, because Build Teamspeak is empty 90% of the time- I make up for this by communicating excessively in-game. I still look forward to improving whether I receive JMOD or not. However, I have hopes that odds will be in my favor.

    Thanks for your feedback

    Hey Flavorous,
I don't think you're ready to be a Jmod. All aspects of the job are equally important forums, ts3, in-game, maturity, and your application. Where I see you excel in certain areas like in-game, as stated by Doges, and the forums with about 50 posts per month. I also see places for improvement.
Ts3: You need to active and helpful, not just afking
Maturity: I've never seen you in-game, but as stated by Doges it could use some work
Application: I personally think you application was a little short and lacked detail in some of the questions
Try working on some of these points and you'll get my full +1

Let me provide a counter to that statement,
    I respectfully reply:

    • So on Teamspeak, I'm definitely there. If someone joins the channel I'm in, I'll talk for sure and be courteous. I'm not necessarily afk; however you can't blame me if I can't plug my mic in before you leave the channel... Doges did that the other day. (Because If I am not using it, I'll take it off my headset... It's detachable.)
    • My Maturity can vary just depending if my day has been really stressful. I'm aware that my maturity can be a little offset sometimes, however its just sarcasm / me talking in a sarcastic tone. It's not to the extent of being absurd, however still inexcusable behavior in relation to my application.
    • My application (As I personally messaged you about) is answered to the fullest extent of my ability. Anything else I add to it will just be worthless information. I understand you guys look for length in the application - but I maintain that the quality of the material is much more important than the length. But in addition, you could consider these responses as extensions to my application
