Earlier I made a topic about how my computer is infected with malware and stuff.

I've ran every program you are probably going to suggest, I've uninstalled every program I don't know, I've removed all of the extensions, I've ran a "registry cleaner" (I've ran SpyHunter which detected a lot of "threats" and I did recognize the name of a few things which I had accidentally installed earlier. But not surprisingly you have to "register" in order to remove ANYTHING which makes me think it's bs)

Anyways, I've done all that and I STILL get the ads (Not like ads on a website to get the website money, like, ads that open in a new tab to bring web traffic for money). They open RANDOMLY whenever I click ANYWHERE while on Chrome (and all other browsers). More often on "website buttons" than open space, but they most often occur on this website and the League website(s)

Right before typing this asking for help a little box appeared in the bottom right of my screen saying "Ads by Jabuticaba". I've seen it multiple times but I never knew what happened so I clicked it and took me to this:
    upload_2015-8-14_9-1-28.png
(Ignore the background on the left, I have 2 monitors so it does that whenever I press "Print Screen" and I don't feel like cropping the image)

I was going ask if the "uninstaller" is really just a last ditch effort to throw more viruses at you but I'm just going to click it anyways and see for myself.

    ...

So I ran the download it and it opens up a dialog box that prompts you to restart to "finish uninstalling".

Well I restarted and literally nothing happened at all lol. The "uninstaller" doesn't even take you to a wizard box or load anything it just immediately says "restart".

    So yeah, what do?

I just got rid of mine today... Have had an adware for a long time. Friend helped me today :>

    Get it off your PC:
Control Panel -> Uninstall Uninstall anything weird... Weird .exe etc.

Get it off your browser Chrome:
Menu -> Settings -> Extensions Disable and remove anything weird... Stuff you didn't download

    Get it off your tasks:
Background -> Taskbar Look for weird things running. The adware is most likely a .exe or something you don't remember downloading. Mine was called proxy(something). Check their file location. If it's weird, delete it. Note: Don't delete system 32 related.

I did all of that and fixed it today. My adware was "GetPrivate". I don't know what yours is but good luck.

Try running ESET security and AVG PC Tuneup, together you'll be fine.

ESET is the best security out there.

Use MalwareBytes and also look at your browser extensions/plugins if you haven't already.

I once had some virus thing that made ads pop up every now and then pretty often.

I got rid of it by:
Checking the process manager if any suspicious programs were running.
I found one which i did not recognize which was called something in style with "salus.exe" or something similar.
I rightclicked and went to "open file pathway" or something like that.
I shut it down through the process manager, deleted the whole folder which was called "salus".
I rebooted my computer because i could still not use my browser and when i had restarted it everything was back to normal.

We get adware on our home pc cause our anti-virus is broken and all that's protecting it is a firewall. If you get adware use these steps. (NOTE: These steps are for Windows pc's)

    Step 1: Open control panel.
Step 2: Go into Programs & Features
Step 3: Go to Uninstall a Program
Step 4: Uninstall anything that looks out of place or you didn't download. (You have to right click the program name to bring up the uninstall option)

Also, before you uninstall it from the control panel MAKE SURE to remove the extension (if any) from your browser.

Also, check your host files and browser proxies.

    Host file:
    1. Navigate to C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\
    2. Open the file called hosts
    3. Edit it and ensure that everything is commented out (with the # at the beginning of the line)
I assume you shouldn't have any programs with mappings.

    Proxy settings: (for Chrome)
    • Open the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar. (the three lines)
    • Select Settings.
    • Click Show advanced settings.
    • In the "Network" section click Change proxy settings
    • Now clear out any set proxies
If it still persists, run TDSSKiller - http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/TDSSKiller.

Also you could use system restore if you want them out of the registry for good.

    P.S.
You CAN clean the adware out of the registry without doing system restore (so it doesnt come back) but unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing DON'T go into the registry. One little mess-up and your pc is doomed. Ok, that's a slight exaggeration but the point stands.

Thanks for the replies every1 (sorry for late response)

I've already checked extensions, ran malwarebytes, and uninstalled the programs before and I've also ran multiple other "adware cleaning programs".

I checked the host file and everything had the # thing

I checked all of the background processes and all of the processes that I don't recognize linked back to System32.

As I said before the only adware that I think still exists on my computer is "Ads by Jabuticaba". I've tried different browsers but it persists on all of them.

I have adware named "Ads by Jubuticaba" and it's not showing up in Extensions or control panal or ANYTHING! Plz help, because if i system restore to fix it or worse factory restore, it's going to anger my sisters as it will mess up her ipod and Itunes. So plz help me. I can't find Ads by Jubuticaba anywhere so I can remove it and I'm not going to burst into the Registry looking for it cause I have no knowledge of the registry, only enough to know to stay away from it.

...plz help. I don't even know how it GOT there, cause I'm smart enough to not download anything that's bad.

Update: I looked in the processes using task manager and there were .exe things that I didn't recognize. Could they be related to the adware?

You should definitely get an antivirus program like Norton or McAfee if you haven't already. You'll need to purcahse them but they're better than the free antiviruses and Windows Firewall. Just don't get 2 antivirus programs on your computer at the same time because they'll counteract with each other.

I've already been to that site

Did you even read through it? It's literally everything everyone has already said to do on this thread alone.

    _________

Okay instead of people googling "how to remove ads by Jabuticaba" and literally reading off everything I've already seen, this thread is now for people who have actually had the virus or a similar virus and know how to remove it manually.

I'm not going to be buying anything because "some guy" on the internet thinks it might work

Yes, not everything on that site was suggested in that thread. Like removing anything from your browser's shortcut.

If you've literally done everything on that guide, in this thread, and ran the tool that I suggested before you will need to format your computer and reinstall Windows.

There is no need to get pissed when people are attempting to help you. My suggestions were from my experience, then I suggested the link because it was specific to the issue you are facing.

    Good luck.

Free version of AVG? That's the last thing I have on my mind for people who don't like buying things.

    1) Stop Jabuticaba running process in Task Manager. Press ctrl+shift+esc together to open Tast Manager, click on the Processes tab, find Jabuticaba (and any other suspicious running processes) and click on it, then click End Process.

    2) Uninstall Jabuticaba in Control Panel. Click Start -> Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program, then find Jabuticaba (and any other suspicious programs) and click on them, then Uninstall it.

    3) Remove Jabuticaba from web browsers.
    • Internet Explorer: Open Internet Explorer, click Tools -> Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab and click the Reset button. Go to the Reset Internet Explorer settings -> Delete personal settings, and click on Reset option. Then, click Close and OK to save the changes.
    • Mozilla Firefox: Open Mozilla Firefox, go to the Help section -> Troubleshooting Information, then select Reset Firefox and click finish.
    • Google Chrome: Open Google Chrome, click the Chrome menu button, select Tools -> Extensions, find unknown extension and remove them by clicking Recycle bin. Then, click Settings -> Show Advanced settings -> Reset browser settings and click Reset.
    4) Restart your computer.
