    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

In the past couple of months, I've been thinking a lot about reapplying, but I haven't been completely sure about it before now. Due to a lot of different changes, especially when it comes to the current moderator system, and some other small features is the main reasons why I haven't applied sooner. As many of you already may know, I have been a moderator for a good amount of time on this server, 4 months ago. Unlike some other resignations, I didn't resign because of the server or problems with higher or same level staff members, but my resignation was only because I wanted to be able to focus 100% on school, mainly exams, before the holiday.

If this is the first time you have seen me, I'd like to introduce myself, and hopefully you'll know me a little better. I am a 16 years old boy, and I live in Norway. I am really looking forward for my military training, which in Norway, you'll get when you reach 19 years of age. I'm of course aiming for the special force, and in my case, hopefully become a paratrooper. That is basically my greatest goal for the future. Besides of that, I really do like to play soccer, which I play three times a week.

Have you read over this thread? -Yes, I have. I have read it several times to make sure that I'm fully aware of the responsibility and what it requires to be a moderator, or a junior mod.

What is your in-game name? -My current in-game name is "MarXmen". My original name is poskeharen.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. -I have swapped between, Sunderrr, Poskey and AkimboStrike, poskeharen and MarXmen. I believe that if I decide to change it again, it will most likely be poskeharen, or something similar.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? -No. I am the only person who got access to my mine craft account, and I hope it will always stay that way. I don't see any point with sharing accounts.

How old are you? -I am currently 16 years of age, turning 17 in March.

What time zone are you in? -I live in Norway, UTC+1

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -I would say that I speak english good, not perfect, but at least good enough for other people to fully understand what I'm trying to say to them, and I usually have no problems with understanding the english language. I also speak norweigan, of course, and I am currently learning a little german at school. I believe that I will be able to speak good german in a couple of years.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -My experience with mine craft is not as good as many other players, but I have played the game for several years now. I think I started in 2010, when I got the game from my brother. When I started playing mine craft I was a little bit "One-way-tracked", as you can call it. And with that I mean I refused to play multiplayer because I liked the single player mode too much, and I didn't want any change xD. However I soon started to play multiplayer, and then I discovered how fun it all was, and how many types of games you can play. I never played single player after that. I started to play a lot on faction servers and other PvP servers. I got a lot of experience with mine craft in general, different multiplayer servers, and especially with factions, because that was my favorite back then. One more time, I got a new game, or a new server, from my brother. I was totally shocked when I first tried it, because I had never seen something like that before. It was guns in mine craft! I couldn't believe it, and I was soon addicted to it. Then I got experience with that too. At the same time as I played Mc-war, I also opened my own server. I remember I had a fun time creating it, downloading plugins, making the rank system as I wanted it to be, and most important, I learned a lot about what it actually takes to be a member of a servers staff. After a long time with mine craft, I have got a lot of experience in many different ways. Everything from crafting blocks to own a server.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -As I said, I owned a server before. I kept it running for some months, I think. It wasn't the most popular server of course, but it could be up to 20 players online on a very good day. I learned much about being patient, and what to do to be a good owner, and make the server enjoyable. On a faction server, that's what I had, it is more hackers than most people believe. There are hackers and advertisers almost everywhere, and that is the most annoying thing about being a member of a staff. They came online, and all they do is destroying the server in order to receive something on a different server. I learned that if a hacker gets punished 1 time, he/she would mostly not stop with hacking. He/she will just be more careful about using their obvious hacks. When you have players like that on a server, it requires real, trustable staff to be online as much as possible. When players like that came to my server, I needed staff fast, so I hired an admin a little bit too fast. I thought he would be a good admin because he had been online for a while, and he had never hacked or shouted out bad things to other players. I trusted him, and what I received was a blown up world. I am actually happy that he made that decision, because I learned something from that. It is the people you trust you should be careful with, because you can never know if they do something unexpected. You don't need to be careful about people you don't trust, because you know what they are going to do.

From that moment I only gave the admin rank to people I knew in real life, but I hired some moderators that only could kick, warn and jail other players. That worked very well, and I didn't receive any blown upped worlds. After some time I decided to shut the server down, because I didn't had enough time to host it (I hosted it with my own computer, and my computer had to always be on). I got very much experience from that time, and I understood more of the moderators, administrators, and the owners job when having a server.

I have also been a moderator on this server, which was the most enjoyable mod experience I have had. There is always more fun the deal with a great amount of players, however it also requires more patience. I believe I was a moderator for 9 months, and my first rank was on MC-War. Later, I got a new rank on MC-party, but I changed it to FpsHG, due to the fact that I played a lot of fps back then. Right after they changed fpsHG to Sg and Sgg, I changed that rank to PvP-survival, which definitely was a lot of fun. I got new friends, and it expanded my moderator experience with survival with teams included.

I'm sure there are a lot of players with a lot more mod experience, but after all, I believe that I have enough to be a proper Brawl J.mod.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -I will provide all of my knowledge and experience with mine craft and moderating. I will use my power for a better community and a better server. I actually haven't seen many hackers that use aimbot or force field on this server, because it doesn't give a very big advantage, but what I have seen is a lot of advertisers, rude players and players that rage over even the smallest things I have ever heard of.

If I were given the moderator rank, I would do everything I could possibly do to make this server free from cheaters and players that aren't nice to other players. I would also do everything I could do to make players stop calling other players for hackers or anything like that. I know that someone likes to be called a hacker, and takes it as a compliment, because being called a hacker is actually the same as being called "As good as a hacker". Even though someone likes it, there will always be players the doesn't. And therefore, I would do my job to make them stop with these comments. I would also try to record as much as possible in order to catch rule breakers more efficiently.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -Yes, I have. Back in the days when MC-War changed their hosts, I was unable to play on my favorite server, so I decided to reopen my own server with a couple of good friends. Due to the fact that I knew that the hosts would soon be back up, we all decided not to try to get as many players as possible, but just to have fun together, mainly on a custom mob arena with hacked clients just for fun. It also gave me/us experience with hacked clients and how they work. This has helped me a lot during my time as a mod. If you would like to see a little bit of a hacked client, and what it is, click here!

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -Yes, I have been banned on a mine craft server. I was banned on a multiplayer server hosted by a few Danish players, and it was really fun. My friends and me had a great time back then, at least until they decided to hire a new admin. It wasn't a big deal to begin with, but later on, as we kept destroying his bases and gears, and he chose to not be so cool anymore ._. He banned us with no specific reason. Luckily for us, we got unbanned by the owner some days later, and I believe the admin got banned for his actions. On the other hand, I have never been banned because of breaking the rules. I don't like rule breakers, and that's why I am not one of them.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -I would say my greatest strength is my motivation to do my job, and to follow my instructions. If my job is something that I like to do, which it is in this case, or if I will achieve something from it, my motivation is on the top. In addition I am very focused to do the job properly.

What do you consider your greatest weakness? -My weakness is my experience and knowledge with hacked clients. I don't know very much about them, so I don't know all the types of hacks you can do with them. However, if I someone is doing something strange on a server, I will search it up and see if it's a part of a client or not. If it is, I'll make sure to report the player. In fact, I do know about the most liked/favored hacks, so I'm not completely blind while trying to catch hackers.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -I consider myself as a very active user on Brawl. On the servers, I am very, very active. I don't know exactly how long I have been playing, but it is a very long time since I started. When I first started, I played for some hours each day, and I loved it. When I got better, I started to play more and more, and some days, I played it 9 hours on 1 day. However I don't play so much anymore, but it is still some hours each day, depends on what day it is. On the weekends I will maybe play 5 or 6 hours each day, and 2 hours each day on regular days. After all, I am very active, at least in my point of view.

When it comes to the forums, am I trying to be as active as I can, and I am always on the forums when I play the game. So it is some hours each day. I am replying on every post I know something about that hasn’t been stated before, or posts I have an opinion about. I am also trying to post helpful posts that give answers that the thread creator is looking for. Mostly, I am replying with answers, my opinions, better or different ideas and positive & helpful feedback. My number of posts is far from greatest, but I do have some posts and I am closing in to 700 posts.
I also check the forums a lot during breaks in school, using my phone.

After I downloaded Teamspeak, I started to use it a lot. I am trying to always be in the mc-war section when I am online, and I find it really nice to talk to people I have never have talked to before, and get to know them a little bit better. Unfortunately for me, most of the mc-war players that use teamspeak live in USA, and the time zone in Norway is totally different from the time zones in USA, and therefore it's not always a huge amount of players logged on in the mc-war section on team speak, but there usually is some players. I have also made a couple of friends because of team speak. After all, I am on teamspeak some hours each day, just like in-game and on the forums.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on? -I am definitely most active on War. At this point, that's the only server that I really find enjoyable.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -I think that I will play approximately 2 hours on regular days, and maybe 4-5 hours on weekdays. On regular days, it will be some time after 4 pm and before 9 pm, in my time zone, which is UTC+1. On weekends, I will be online some time between 1 pm to 11pm, I believe. Of course there might be exceptions, but this is what I would normally do.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -It really depends on the action that the rule breaker has done, but usually, I would firstly make sure to warn the player about the consequences, and try my very best to make him/her stop breaking the rule(s). If the player decides not to stop, I will try to warn once again, this time with the consequences in a higher focus to make sure that the player fully understands the punishment he/she could get. Then I will mute or kick the rule breaker, all after his actions. If he/her still continue, I'll consider a temp-ban, also known as the 1-hour, or a longer mute. For instance, players who repeatedly spam the chat will receive a mute. A player who goes oom and refuses to go inside again will get a kick.

I will wait about 10-20 seconds for the ruler breaker to answer. If he/she hasn't answered after that time, I'll assume that the player either don't care or haven't seen my message. I will also kick/mute with a reason that explains my actions.
And I will of course take screenshots that can show the rule breaker, and his actions.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -If someone breaks a rule on the forums, I will warn the player about the consequences, and then require that the player delete or rewrite his/her post. I will also report the post/thread.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -If someone breaks a rule on teamspeak, I will warn about the consequences, and try to make the player stop. If he/she doesn't, I will mute or kick with a reason that should explain the rule breaker why I kicked/muted.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -Firstly, I would try to gather as much information about this glitch as possible. What it is, how it works, how to avoid it etc.. After that, I would report it to the higher staff, so they can take care of it as soon as they log on. In the meantime, I would be on the server that has this problem, and try to warn players about it, and the consequences that follow.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -I have created 3 mod application is the past. The first one was just bad. I didn't know enough about MCBrawl in general, as it was named back then. the second one reminds me of my first one. However the third one was great in my eyes, and I got accepted. Due to the fact that my last one got accepted, I believe it was good enough for the staff too.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? -I submitted my last application back in august the 10th, 2014.

Do you have a working microphone? -Yes, I do have a great working microphone. In fact, I got 2, so if something happens to one of them, I will always have an other one.

Are you able to record and upload videos? -I have a program called ScreenFlow, which works perfectly fine, and I'm also able to upload videos. If I upload, it will be on this channel poskeharen99

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -I know about all the commands for jmod/mod, however I do not know how all of the plugins works. I have never cared about learning java because I have never needed it. After all, I believe I know the commands it takes to be a proper moderator.

Anything else we should know about you? -I think I answered these questions detailed enough, so I don't think so. However, if you have any questions, make sure to PM me! I'd also love to hear feedback, positive or negative.

Thank you for reading my application, and I really hope you liked it! Please make sure to leave a comment, either below or on my profile page.

You were a great staff member the first time I don't see how you can be much different. I've played with you a lot the past couple of days, you're mature, friendly and helpful. I talk to you a lot on ts and you're fairly active on the forums.

    +1 Good luck!
