I am planning on making a new map that I hope will be accepted, and I was wondering if I can use command blocks and redstone to imitate mines. What I would do is have a pressure plate leading to redstone and below that have two command blocks, one of which would give the player the instant damage effect and the other of which would destroy the pressure plate. Is it allowed to use command blocks?

Well, I'm not sure about this. I don't think there has ever been redstone in Mc-War maps to my knowledge.

    Why would you need that?

Dustbowl2 has one right at zombie spawn, it turns on a light.
I am sure you could implement command blocks into your map. It would be a interesting function that could enhance the map.

I need to know about the redstone because I want to make a map with pre-placed "landmines" that would kill one player and destroy themselves in the process.

How would they be there every game? I'm pretty sure they need player interaction to be placed

Every time a map is player it is played as the default state.
EX: When you break a glass panel in one game and then play the same map again the glass panel is reset to the maps original state.

I don't see why you would not be able to use redstone.

The reason I think it might not be allowed is because it might generate lag on bad computer or the server, or it might not work due to command blocks being disabled or something similar.

I don't seethe use in this, even for landmines.
Everything is automatic from the plugin, so I'm not sure if any redstone is even in maps or if it's set to "on".

I think that command blocks will work if the map is put in the same world as spawn. Since dhahran is in the same world, it would work. Get what I'm saying?

The only way I know to turn redstone "On" is to put c4 next to it and flip the lever like you would in normal minecraft.

The pressure plate would power the redstone below it, which would kill the player on the pressure plate and destroy the pressure plate.

I was quoting Timmytimmy7 and telling him about the player turning redstone "On" whilst playing in-game.

I thought that it is no longer possible to turn redstone on with C4?

It may not work anymore, I am trying to fix my PC so I can not get on to double check. I know for a fact that in the update this glitch will be fixed it is not already.

I don't think mines would be a good idea. It would mess with the gameplay.

Unless they added exploding barrels to mc-war then this could work perfectly.

I wouldn't use any command blocks, the plugins already installed might interfere with the command. For instance, at spawn, one of the plugins is coded to cause you to teleport when activating any pressure plates.

No, there are command blocks under them. It's not some whole fancy plugin that teleports you whenever you step on a plate.
