    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:
Before anyone participates in the poll above I request that you put aside any personal issues or problems you may have with me and make this vote completely unbiased, vote completely on my capabilities to become moderator. Also keep in mind that I was given permissions to re-use my old moderator application. There wasn't much to edit considering I have maintained the same attitude from then to now.

Have you read over this thread?
I have read over it twice before and I have read it one more time before posting this application.

    What is your in-game name?
    My in-game name is Eso.

Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them.
I have changed my name only twice before. My first name was Eso_999 which I had the longest. But when the name changes came out I decided to change it to Oceanus. Unfortunately I didn’t like the name so I decided to change it back to Eso_999, but fortunately for me Eso was still available and as a result that is my name to this day.

Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account?
I’ll be completely honest no one has access, except my brother who has not played minecraft for months now, and even when he did play minecraft he never used my account. If this is a problem I can easily change the password so he does not have access to the account.

    How old are you?
    I’m 16 years old, born May 31, 1999

What time zone are you in?
I live in Ontario, Canada therefore my timezone is Eastern Standard Time (EST).

Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages?
I understand very, very little French because I am Canadian and we have to learn French as a second language, other than that I cannot speak any other languages.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft?
So when I first joined Minecraft in december of 2012, I bought it for the soul intention on playing survival games. I spent numerous hours playing survival games until I started to find interest in my first server I was dedicated too which was PlaySurvivalGames, and I'm sure you can guess how I found it. From there I was extremely dedicated to this server spending tones of time on the forums and in-game. At one point I acheived helper on the server but I didn't keep it for long because I found McBrawl, and I started to loose interest in PlaySurvivalGames. I found Brawl through a friend and from there I instantly fell in love with the servers, War-Z specifically. Most of my experience on Brawl is only through War-Z as I didn't even know about the War or any of the other servers until around early 2014. Even though I didn't have much variety or experience on multiplayer servers War-Z taught me a lot. I've learned how to identify numerous hacked clients, and I've learned to deal players who aren't the nicest and may flame in chat now and again.

Now that mostly covers my multiplayer experience, or at least the important servers I played.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?
Unfortunately I have not had too much experience moderating and big time servers such as Brawl. A couple of my friends such as Blindstrike, tblox and a couple other older friends had small faction servers in which I never did more than moderate. These servers were never really big and never had more than a 100+ players on at once, therefore I can’t really provide proof. But the few servers I do remember was my old friend barretcalvin’s server. He owned a factions server. I became mod because I helped him find some of the plugins, build spawn, get members etc… Anyways, on this server I did very basic moderator duties. I made sure the chat was clean, there was no profanity or inappropriate things being said. If anyone were to violate the rules I would ban and/or kick them for a certain amount of time depending on what rule they broke.

Another server was Tblox’s gun server which was up for almost 2 months. This was a very popular practice server in which players would start in a spawn and run out and fight throughout a huge map. On this server again I performed very basic moderator duties. I was able to identify, record, and ban hackers with proof. I moderated the chat making sure there was no inappropriate behaviour. I also was very active with the members and the small community we had. I was constantly hosting small events and doing drop parties. The most we had on the server I think was near 100 players. This was when I was hosting an event in which the members had to kill a certain group of people that were camping in a certain spot to win prizes, whether it be money or loot or temporary ranks.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status?
I’d like to think that I would contribute positively to the community. I can only do so much as moderator, but I plan on using my powers to better the community. By not only filtering the chat from people who act inappropriately or cuss and recording and reporting hackers, but by being an active member of the community. Not being as distant from the members as some of the current moderators are, so that way I am viewed as a friendly person who is easily approachable. This way I feel I will be able to know the community on a deeper level and I will not just be someone of power to fear or dislike simply because of their position. To sum up I want to be someone who is nice, and looked upon as a positive influence. I feel if I am able to achieve this more members of the community that are not looked to fondly upon can better their ways and help build a better community. This is a big part of the reason I want to become a moderator for Brawl. I want to help, specifically in the War-Z community.

Have you ever used a hacked client before?
I will not lie to you I have used a hacked client before in the past. Back on Practice-Z I used to be a notorious hacker. But the funny thing is, I never even knew how to download a hacked client, because my brother downloaded the hacked client for me. The client was Huzuni. I used it all the time on practice-Z and because I am being totally honest when I was a white name back in early 2013 I used the client often. But as I started to become a more active member I decided to better my ways. I deleted the hacked client and convinced my friends to (I stopped hacking back in late 2013. We started to play completely legit, and left practice-Z behind. It had become a bad influence on me because of the large community of hackers.

But to be completely honest, I view this as a good thing and a learning experience. Using this client gave me the knowledge on how fastplace, xray, timer, tracers, and other hacks worked. Using this knowledge I feel like I am able to identify hackers easily, and just lately I have started to record more and have already banned 3 big time hackers off the brawl servers, and I intend to record and ban more on a regular basis.

Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why?
I have been banned temp on a number of servers mostly for silly reasons. For example I have been kicked a number of times on play survival games for vulgar language, because it’s a very strict server and you can easily get kicked/banned for cussing in chat. On Brawl I have been temped banned on Brawl because I got a ride along banned with alex3333334. I don’t see this as my fault because this was when the ride along rule was still very new and I was banned even though there hadn’t been a rule in which you can’t play with a banned player who is using an alt but not hacking. I have also been banned once or twice for using the tp glitch on War-Z by poaches, and since then I have barely used it.

What do you consider your greatest strength?
My greatest strength would have to be that I’m very fair. I always look at a situation from an unbiased point of view. If I were to obtain the rank of junior moderator I would always but my own thoughts and opinions aside and deal with the situation based on the facts at hand. A great example of this is what just happened with me recently. I have, well had a couple of team mates (I will leave them unnamed) who were very big hackers. I didn’t want to play with them because of this but instead of just leaving and letting them continue to hack, so instead I decided to record and report them even though I was good friends with each of them. I got both of them banned and even though we aren’t friends anymore I did the right thing and the server is better for it.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
My greatest weakness would have to be that I have a very, very short temper. I get very angry easily, and I’m easily aggravated by other players. But lately I feel like I’ve greatly improved on controlling this. I have been very calm and as a result I’ve been making a lot more friends and have been enjoying my time on Brawl a lot more. For example when I’ve been controlling myself from acting out in chat and complaining. Stuff that used to annoy me such as people camping with ray guns in infected, getting outnumbered greatly in War-Z, or members that try to aggravate me such as saying “eZ” or “you’re bad” don’t bug me as much anymore. I feel like my out of control temper that used to make me rage in chat and cuss at other players is being controlled greatly. I may rage in the TeamSpeak channel but only to a certain extent, I feel like I’m really getting my temper under control.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl?
    In-game:
In game I spend many, many hours on the servers. I am always hoping through every war-Z server on Brawl. On the week days I spend usually 2-3 hours online, given that I am in school (during the summer it is about 5-6 hours). On the weekend I spend nearly 7-8 hours a day online. Given my many online hours I would be able to moderate the servers to my full extent for long hours, making sure the chats are clean and the hackers are being banned. Not only this I love playing the games, and I’m not always on War-Z. Lately I’ve been getting into war and I have been spending long amounts of time on there as well, which means I can also assist War mods on keeping the servers clean (that is of course no other moderators are online, then I would switch servers or go to a different server). I also answer any questions I can that people who are new to the game ask. Just recently in my increased time in war, I have been answering a lot of questions from simple commands to how to play. Same thing with white names in war-Z.

    Forums:
I love the forums. It provides a whole other community in which I can interact with aside from being in-game. I love browsing through the forums reading other people’s ideas, involving people in insightful debates, and giving constructive criticism on other people’s ideas and/or creations. The forums is an insightful place where you are opened up to communities on Brawl you didn’t even know existed, and exactly because of this reason I am very active on the forums. I am always checking the forums when I’m playing Minecraft, and I am always browsing through different sections and different threads. I also constantly check the forums through safari on my iPhone. I can’t really say an exact time because it’s randomly throughout the day. But if I were to take an estimated guess I would say I spend around 2 hours in total.

    TeamSpeak:
I am always on TeamSpeak. Whenever I am in-game I have TeamSpeak open, so to refresh your memory I spend around 5-6 hours online during week days and 7-8 hours during the weekend. I don’t just spend all my time on TeamSpeak talking to my friends in private channels. I spend large amount of times in public channels interacting with the community and making new friends from different branches on Brawl. The past couple of days I have made a number of friends from War and survival pvp just by hanging out in the war channel. I have also spent long amounts of time answering questions and helping people that are new to TeamSpeak, I am open to answering all questions (even though I’m not asked often), and if someone asks for help and is not asking me directly I will still try my best to help.

Which Brawl servers are you most active on?
War-Z would definitely be the server I am most active on. I spend most of my time on War-Z throughout the day and evening. Though lately I have been spending a lot of time war. Now a days I would say I spend around 2-4 hours a day on war-Z and around 1-2 hours on war. Even though I am playing a lot of war now, I will definitely spend more time on my specified server (War-Z) if I were to obtain the rank of junior moderator.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame?
During the week – 2-3 hours
-Please note that because I am taking summer school to get an extra credit, I will not be playing as much as I’d like to during the week.
During the weekend- 4-5 or 5-6
-Please not that, again, the times will vary depending on how much homework I have from summer school and what not, but I will try, no I will, try to get as much time as I can online.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game?
    Swearing/racial slurs/profanity in chat:
First time: Give them a warning and tell them what they’re doing wrong. E.g. “(Player) please do not use profanity in chat.”
Second time: If they disobey again mute them and then tell them why they have been muted. When muting a player you mute them for a certain amount of time based on what rule they broke and too what degree.
Third time: Kick them from the server with a message explaining why they have been kicked. When kicking a player you kick them for a certain amount of time based on what rule they broke and too what degree.

    Glitch abusing:
Catching them in the process: Warn them that what they are doing is wrong, and if they continue to do so they will be kicked from the server for a certain amount of time. If they ignore you and continue to abuse the glitch you kick them from the server with a small message explaining why they are being kicked.
Someone reporting an abuser with proof: If someone submits a report or sends you a video or screen shot with proof of someone abusing a glitch you kick them from the server for a certain amount of time, depending on how badly they abused the glitch, with a message explaining why they were kicked from the server.

    Hacking/Macros/Cheating:
Considering I will only be a junior moderator the most I can do is record and report hackers at report.brawl.com. If someone was to complain about someone hacking I would simply ask them to record and report at report.brawl.com.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums?
-If a thread that’s main purpose was to ask a question and the question had been resolved and answered I’d lock the thread, on account of the question being answered.
-If someone were to post material that was 18+ right away I would lock the thread and alert a senior moderator or an administrator about the problem.
-If a flame war was beginning to arise on a thread I would lock the thread and delete any inappropriate replies.
-If someone were to reply to a thread that was 30 days or older and the reply wasn’t contributing to the conversation at hand I would simply lock the thread for grave dig.
-If a thread is going off topic I would kindly ask the members to stay on topic, but if there is no hope I would lock the thread on account of people going off topic.
-If someone were to create a thread that was exactly like a thread that had recently been posted I’d lock the thread on account of it being a duplicate of another thread, and I’d link the thread that it’s a duplicate of.
-If someone is spamming a thread I'd kindly ask them to not spam, if they continued to do so I would lock the thread.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3?
-If someone was using a sound board in a public channel and weren’t in the music/recording channel I would kindly ask them to stop using the sound board. If they continued to do so I would simply kick them for a certain amount of time from the server based on their offence.
-If someone were to use vulgar language/inappropriate behaviour I would kindly ask them to stop the first time. If they were to continue to use such language or talk about ddosing or threatening other players I would immediately ban them from the server for a certain amount of time based on their offence.
-If someone were to spam their mic with random noises or loud sounds I would first ask them to stop. If they continued to do so I would ban them from the server for close to an hour.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue?
First I would immediately contact a higher staff member through skype, TeamSpeak, or through the forums. I would then try to keep everyone calm and organized and answer any questions I can to the best of my abilities. I would also be on the lookout for anyone who was trying to abuse the glitch, but because of the situation I would warn, in chat, anyone who abuses the glitch will be kicked from the server without warning.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past?
I have made two moderator applications in the past.

What is the date of the last application you submitted? -
    August 5th, 2015 - one month ago

Do you have a working microphone?
Yes, I use my laptop’s microphone and it works perfectly fine.

Are you able to record and upload videos?
Yes I use fraps and it work perfectly fine on my computer. I am able to record and upload videos whenever I please, and I plan on working on war-Z montages and recording more hackers and working on getting them banned from our servers.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
Yes as I said earlier in my application I have been moderator on a lot of my friends small servers and I am fairly familiar with all the commands. I may need a small refresher because the last server I was moderator on was Tblox’s war-z practice server, but I’m sure I’ll remember them as I use them more and more in game.

Anything else we should know about you? -
I am a 16 year old male. I have been playing Minecraft since 2011. I am very mature at times for my age, and very understanding of other’s needs. I am a very dedicated player if I find a project interesting or challenging I will not give up until it is completed. I am also very hard working, if giving a task I will complete it quickly to the best of my abilities. I’m also very open minded and not too picky or rebellious, if given a task I will complete it without complaining, and if something comes up and something needs to be changed that is an inconvenience to me I will work to the best of my abilities and try to find a compromise. That’s all, I worked very hard on this application and my behavior in-game and on the forums. I hope you consider me to be your next junior moderator, thank you.

I have read through your application and there are minor faults but overall it looks very good. In-game you are active enough, forums activity is good, so is teamspeak. This is a very short reply but you are definately worthy of a shot at JMOD. WarZ really needs more moderation overall, with now only 4 MOD's who play warz and deal with 10 servers. +1.

You're definitely ready now. I see you on WarZ whenever I'm about to fight any team and you're never disrespectful when you kill me or anyone else. Never calling out "eZ" or complain about you dying. Active on TS3 and forums as well. Good luck!

Although I only know you by means of War, I do not know if you are helpful, active and mature on WarZ...
But, the replies from my workmates show me that I'm wrong, and this time you deserve a luck.
