    Nice thread bro!

Any idea how many calories I should be consuming to stay at my current weight of 155-160 lbs? And maybe what I could be eating on a daily basis? I road bike 50-80 miles on the weekends and lift 2-3x times per week. I'm focusing on my diet since that seems to be the area that needs the most work. I usually eat healthy but I really want to take things up a notch.

I heard an interesting saying at the gym the other day "you can't outrun your fork" and I want to focus more on my diet since that almost seems more important than working out.

    Do I even, pffft.

I currently deadlift 405, I am still trying to improve in that lift every week though.

To get "Ripped" abs, you must have low body fat percentage. Most people's abs will be visible at around 8-11% body fat. Most simple way to get "Abs" though, Is to be in a caloric deficit. Which means you would burn more calories then you consume. Also train your abs at least 2-3 times a week, it's a muscle as well, it needs to be worked/trained just like any other muscle if you want it to grow. Also don't forget that training your abs 2-3 times a week is already enough. Your abs are a muscle just like any other one it needs time to rest and recover.

I was wondering what the diet should look like for someone who wants to get 7-8% body fat.

There are many different methods to figure out your caloric maintenance level, I would need more information from you to figure it out. You could go online though and use "Google" to look up "Caloric maintenance calculator". Whatever number you get though may not be 100% accurate. Whatever number you receive, I would test it for a week. Weigh yourself at the beginning then eat [X] amount of calories. Then weigh yourself at the end of the week and see if you stayed at the same weight. If you gained or lost weight increase/decrease the [X] amount of calories and continue to test it, until you hit your desired number.

Cool, thanks for the tip. I didn't even think to look up a "Caloric maintenance calculator"......seriously didn't even know what the name was.

I'll test it out for a week.

    Thanks!

People always tend to complicate diets when really there not that complicated. Burn more calories then you consume it's that simple, you must be on a caloric deficit. If you are on a caloric deficit you will lose weight which will result in lower body fat percentage.

No problem bro, Thanks for asking a question.

How much do you bench? What would be the average bench for a freshman in high school?
Also by adding leg muscle which I'm doing constantly by biking lifts etc theoretically doesn't that increase your speed because you legs have lest resistance because of the extra muscle?

Uh, that body fat thing is kinda bs. I'm at 17.4% (5'10 135 lbs) and climbing/swimming has yielded pretty visible ab muscles. Do you mean that you will have visible abs at 8-11% regardless of muscle?
