I disagree with your ideas. They sound very isolationist orientated.

 

We can't explore deep into the ocean because of water pressure...

While with space the things we can do are basically limitless

 

People predicting the end of the world has nothing to do with people spending money. It's idiots that spread lies over social media

Regardless, we as humans had nothing in store for us but to survive. Along the way, discoveries, hobbies, interests, inventions and innovations revolutionized our race. Space exploration is just another step to finding new resources, locations, and it may provide reasons behind our existence!

Have you ever sat and wondered, "we are but a speck in the universe. How big is this realm? How fast is it expanding? What happens when the universe ends?" The answers to those questions are being worked out, all because of space exploration.

 

Space exploration is very important. It expands our scientific knowledge and helps advance our technology. Waste of money? Depends on whether or not you think advancing our species is worthwhile I guess.

 

I haven't commented on anything in a while, but this sticks out.

You've been saying these past few posts you didn't want to start a flame war, but people are literally just commenting their opinions, you know, as you told them to do. Having someone disagree with you does not make something a flame war.

The second thing that really stands out to me is you brought up religion. I myself a believer in God, I'm a leader at a local youth ministry, and have read the Bible, studied the texts, the whole deal, so you saying all that is pretty annoying. No scientist ever claimed that the world would end in 2012 or 2015, as Greedy pointed out those were just theorists making weird predictions for whatever reason. Leave religion out of this.

One of your main points is that we aren't focusing on human life, that we are too busy focused on space (whether or not stars grow? lol) and not what is going on around us. One of the main points of NASA and other space exploration is to further the human race, further what is going on around us. You act as if NASA is where every scientist in the world has ever gone to work, and that they don't give two ****s about people. Mokolee said it perfectly in the first post, when this Earth is depleted of all the natural resources and overpopulates (which it will, I can grab sources, something you seem to be missing), these people "wasting our money" will be the ones ensuring the human can race can continue to live.

What you're essentially saying there is we as people should never, ever focus on the future or what we may need, but what's in the present. Don't have rent next month? Eh forget it, I've gotta focus on whatever useless thing I'm doing now! Havent applied to a college? Screw it, I've got a math test next week! It's just too close-minded to think this way.

Either way, that's what I think about this thing, and that it's pretty unfounded but hey, at least you're not homophobic or racist or something.

I think I'd rather spend my money on a space ship than on a refugee from Africa. Why? Because space causes less harm. I'm not being racist here. I'm being honest.

Honestly, space exploration has benefitted us with powerful technology, advanced medicine and other things that matter in our everyday life.
And earth has been runnin' out of resources.
Wanna know where they at? In spaaaace.

 

I think that sounds very racist. There needs to be balance in long term strategy And what we can do for our fellow man. Both decisions require us to take a step back and say what is the right thing to do today.

Space exploration is extremely important. Earth's resources won't last forever. Believe it or not, we're going to have to leave Earth and go to other planets. Also over-population is becoming a bigger concern by the day.
