HELP!

First question, is this video monetized? Secondly, there may be an option (in video manager) on where you can actually acknowledge it as copyright, but you can file a dispute saying that you "gave credit in the video"

 

Perhaps be extra careful and add a message at the bottom of the description along the lines of 'I do not own any clips, scenes, or music used in any of my videos. My videos are just fan based and are only used for the intent of enjoyment for others watchers. No copyright infringement is intended, and all materials belong to their rightful owners and/or companies.

Go to your video manager settings on your channel homepage. On the video that you just posted that was "copyrighted" look for something that says "Acknowledged as copyrighted". When you see that click it, and it will give you an option to file a dispute. File the dispute saying that you "gave credit in the video (the song)".

 

Also, sorry for the late note. But the bottom corner it says "file a dispute" click that, and then there you go =)

It may take Youtube staff a couple hours and even maybe a couple days to approve this. Hang tight

 

If it isn't monetized you can just use the music, filing a dispute honestly isn't worth the time.

 

Monetized means that you can make money off your own videos. If you attempt to montenize a video with copyrighted music it will not work. When you are in video manager you have an option to monetize the video. In your case monetization isn't effecting you. Sometimes videos that aren't monetized can still get copyrighted. At this point your best option is to wait for the dispute to go through.

 

Give it a day or so... Monstercat probably forgot to disable the auto-muting since it's a brand new song.

Filing a dispute takes a few weeks, so I'd do it now if possible. My most popular Tristam- ID video was taken down because the YouTube bots thought it was Crave.... The strike pretty much disabled my account. You're lucky it's only a mute.

 

Solution: Don't use Youtube. Nowadays if you simply upload a video 5 seconds long with a song it gets muted

 

BTW, this is the email I received from YouTube.

I've only had issues with that twice. Both have been solved.

 

If you made dispute and submitted it wait a day or two, and then youtube will hopefully respond to you. When this happens, they will most likely lift the mute of the audio.
