    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread? - Yes, I've read this thread multiple times prior to writing this application.
What is your in-game name? - Slovak
Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. -
Yes, I have changed my name in the past. My previous names in order are: minecaftdisaster, MinecaftEdits, BrawlDOTcom, DataGlitch, Marveled, and now my current name, Slovak.
Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - No, i'm the only one with access to my account. Just to make sure, I change my password ever so often just to be safe.

How old are you? - I am currently 14 years of age. (March 13, 2001)
What time zone are you in? - PST (Pacific Standard Time)
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? -
No, I am not multilingual. I just started Spanish 1 at my high school so I can pick up little pieces of what someone's saying but not enough to carry on a conversation. My main language is English.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? -
I started playing Minecraft during the summer of 2013. A friend introduced it to me one day. He told me to buy the Pocket Edition so that we could play together. At first I was reluctant because 7 dollars back then was a lot of money for something with no real value. But I eventually bought it and was glad I did. I played PE for a few months before upgrading to the real thing.

I started play Survival Games servers because they were really popular at the time. I played SG for quite a while, almost 6 months until my friend told me to join brawl. I joined and the first server that caught my eye was WarZ. I really didn't think it'd be the server i'd stick with for as long as I did.

WarZ became my main server right after I bought MVP. I enjoyed warz's concept and could easily spend hours playing with a friend just killing zombies and looting at small desert towns. After about month of hiding in the shadows I decided it was time to run to nether and play with the big boys. I didn't do very well and quickly got bored. I had remembered seeing a Call Of Duty based minecraft server and thought i'd give it a try. Just like WarZ, I loved it.

I was a huge fan of Black Ops when I found War and thought that if I was good on the real thing, I should have no problem playing the Minecraft version. Boy was I wrong. I had a really tough time getting through the ranks. But I stuck with it and found my self at level 50 before I knew it. At this time I had just moved and was unable to play Minecraft for quite a while.

After I was able to set my desktop back up I really didn't play anything besides a little bit of war here and there. Then I heard about this WarZ practice server. I played the server for about a month before applying. I got accepted a few days later and got right to work. As soon as I was promoted I suggested that the coders create a plugin that detected fast place since the majority of the players on would either have macro's or fastplace. They used my suggestion and made the plugin. With the help of this plugin I was able to ban around 200 people from the time I was promoted to the time I was demoted. This is around the time I came back to brawl and started playing skywars.

I came back to brawl to find that they had added a few new gamemodes, one of them being skywars. I don't know what was so fun about it, I just really enjoyed it. After a few months of playing skywars I heard from a friend that there were some new servers that brawl had just bought of MCPVP. By that time I was really hoping i'd find pleasure in one the new games because skywars was getting boring. Sure enough build caught my eye. Although I was reluctant to give up creative, I soon learned to accept what was going to happen and thought it'd be good to at least get used to build. After a few weeks I started to like build and it's features. Now i'm applying to moderate it.
What is your experience with moderating servers, if any? -
Although I don't have any experience moderating creative servers, I do have experience in moderating chat on a server with a similar player count as build.

PracticeZ was a WarZ practice server that would get anywhere from 30 to 90 players a day. Part of my responsibilities on PracticeZ was to moderate chat as well as get rid of the hackers on the server. While I was moderator I made sure to take in as much as I can hoping one day to eventually moderate WarZ. I used my time wisely and learned loads of different techniques to help me solve problems and work with people easier.
What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status? -
If I am promoted to JMod, i'll be sure to apply what i've learned from my past experiences and solve problems quickly. I'll be a friendly person to talk to but will lay down the law if I need to. Also, I'll balance my time equally between build team, and moderating.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? -

Yes, I have. Although i'm ashamed of my decisions, I believe that having used a hacked client gives me a certain edge over other members who haven't. Since i've used a hacked client before, It allows me to spot someone using a client a lot easier rather than someone who's never used one before.
Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? -
I was autoban twice on brawl both of which were cleared. But other than that, no I haven't.

What do you consider your greatest strength? -

My greatest strength would be my ability to solve problems as efficiently as I do. I've been able to handle 2 or even 3 different problems at once and still manage to resolve all of them quite fast.
What do you consider your greatest weakness? -
My greatest weakness would be my patience with a certain group of people. Every once in a while I run into a die hard MCPVPer that absolutely hates brawl and hates anyone who enjoys playing brawl's servers. If I do happen to come across someone like this I try to reason with them for a while but then give up because they believe in what they believe in and are not considerate enough to see things from a different point of view. I've been working on this and have really improved since when build and the other servers were purchased.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? -

Overall I feel i'm definitely active enough to fill this position. I have 800 forums post, I spend all of my play time on Brawl's servers, and i'm on teamspeak most of the time, with some exceptions.
Which Brawl servers are you most active on? -
My two main servers are Build and CTF. I spend the majority of my time on Build but sometimes will play CTF if I want to take a break from building.
How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? -
On the weekdays I can't play very much. But if I can it'll be around 7:00 to 9:00 every other day or so. But I check the forums quite a bit throughout the day. I talked to Jayden about this problem before writing this application and he said that MineChat would be a good substitute mainly because a build mods really only moderate chat.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? -

If a player is breaking one of the server rules, i'd make sure that the player that is supposedly breaking a rule is indeed breaking the rules. Then i'd punish them according to the severity of the transgression. Example: Player is flooding the chat with blank messages, i'd tell them to stop and tell them it's against the rules to do what they are doing. If they continue to do it, i'd mute them and anyone else that is doing it.
What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? -
If a user is breaking a forums rule i'd PM them and tell them to fix what they've done because it is breaking one of the forums rules. If they are reluctant to do so, i'd either lock the thread or delete it all together.
What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? -
If there is a user breaking one of the TeamSpeak Server's rules i'd move them into a private channel and tell them that what they're doing is against brawl's teamspeak rules. If they continue to break the rules I will temp-ban them for an amount of time depending on the severity of their offense.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? -

If I find out that there is a game breaking glitch and I can't get any one higher up to fix, i'd find the players that are abusing the glitch and temp-ban them for glitch abuse. After I have done that, i'll make it clear to the other players that anyone caught abusing the glitch will be punished like the others before them.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? -

I have submitted 5 applications since joining Brawl's forums.
What is the date of the last application you submitted? -
The last application I submitted was posted on November 3rd 2014.

Do you have a working microphone? -

Yes, I do. I have a Steel Series headset. Not quite sure the exact model but it definitely works.
Are you able to record and upload videos? -
    Yes, I am.
Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? -
    Certainly.
Anything else we should know about you? -
Nope, i've told everything I need to tell!

    • Already on build team, showing trust and dedication, as well as knowledge of building.
    • Active in all three areas.
    • Mature, helpful, and kind.
I don't see why it would be an issue to promote you, +1.

Hey Slovak, or should I say Quin?
So I don't really sway one way or another here- but here's what I think.

Application: +0.5, your application has details- but not as many as I would like in certain places.
Teamspeak Activity: +1, You're pretty active to me.
Forums Activity: +1, you 799 posts outside of this application. Keep up the good work!
Maturity: +0, It's not that I don't know you- I do. I see you in-game all the time. You seem mature, but you just don't seem to engage with players that much.

I wish you good luck with your application!

You're active ingame, on the forums and on teamspeak. You also seem pretty mature and helpful. Good luck, I think you'd do well as a JMOD! +1

Your application seems very promising in some areas and proves you would be right for the position. However, the negatives are in the sections you need most detail in. I don't know about TS activity but i have heard great things about that! Make sure you are active in-game like you probably are already. keep up the good work over all and I wish you best of luck. PS: Fantastic job on forums activity!

With the MineChat thing, Build is a chat moderating server, and that's what JMODs do. If you can be on MineChat for 30 minutes a day, then plus one from me.

Forums: +1, Very Active, Very Mature, Very Helpful.
TS3: +1. Active and Nice. Just One Thing: You might want Push To Talk because whenever I join your channel, there is a bit of background noise from TS3.
Application: +.5; Nice Application: As Brendoom said, some aspects need more detail in than others, but I believe you did well!
In-Game: +0.5; I don't play build enough to know if you're active on it. But, I've seen you on it almost everytime I've been on.
Overall: I believe you are ready! Just keep up the good work!

    Hey Slovak!

Thanks for applying for Build Mod, there are somethings I'd like to go over before casting my vote

Team speak: +0 Ts3 is an issue for a lot of people, and I see you in public channels from time to time, but I see you afking or alone In the build team channel. This could always be timezones, though. I believe you just need a little bit more activity for that +1.

In game: +1 I see you online frequently, and helping other players. I think your activity is fine in this area.

Forums: +1 Active, helpful, mature. I see no problems here either.

Application: +0 I see a lot of places that could use improvement especially in the moderating questions.

Maturity: +1 Mature, Kind, and Respectful to everyone.

Overall: +1 I'd love to see you a part of the staff team Slovaspooky ;p

    Good Luck!

+1 You're a good candidate in my eyes however there are a few little things I feel wont be too hard for you to improve on. You're active in-game to my knowledge +1, I've only seen you on ts a few times +0, you're mature and show a good amount of respect towards players +1. As for your application, It's relatively detailed however there are a few parts you could elaborate a little more on. We look for detail in particular when reading an application so a little extra detail never hurts +0.5. Overall, you're doing a good job. Good luck!
