Enforcement of Spam Policy

    The spam in Build is a big problem. I can't turn my chat off because I use world edit, and there isn't a way to toggle off global chat that I'm aware of.

    There are also times when I see these rule violations going on while there is a mod online, and nothing is done, and the spam irritates all of the regulars. Maybe they have the chat toggled off or are afk, but I feel like I shouldn't have to report a player when I press tab and see two mods in the chat.

    Can we please set a standard punishment for the spam in Build? Maybe a short warning mute instead of them just arguing that they didn't know the rules? There's an automatic mute function in CTF when you spam too much at once and I can tolerate the 5 minutes, I think these kids can handle sitting in chat time out for 5 minutes as a warning. 99% of the time these aren't long term members, anyway, so it's not like they are going to contribute to the community in the long run. If Brawl is scared of running off players, these are not the players you want to keep. You want the players who can respect the rules. And, speaking of:

    Is there a way to specify the rules for the build server while logged onto the build server? That would be awesome. I'm sick of the "It doesn't say no advertising skin competitions."-"But it says no spamming."-"I'm not spamming" exchange.

    I would be glad to make a giant post of spam examples and screenshots if you guys don't think it's enough of a problem to do something about.

    I would appreciate a solution to this constant issue. "Just ignore it" is not a solution.

    I'd say create a third, toggle able chat called maps. /map (message) to say something, /map toggle to toggle the on/off state.

    Try using /report [name] [reason] for now until global and such can be toggled. At least 1 staff member usually responds, if not then re-report. Additionally, you may report with screenshots using brawl.com/report or directly to a JMOD+ as you have an official server rank/role (BUILDER).

    There's a secret command called '/chatreport' ^.^, not as if that has to do with anything though...

    I guess there has to be a staff meeting about this considering that most moderators don't know that skin competition spamming isn't allowed (wat). But mostly these moderators are AFK, in which a solution could be to go into vanish so people don't get angry that the moderators "aren't doing anything".

    Okay, so I don't intend to run off players on Build... But I won't hesitate to take care of a spammer/rule breaker.
    There is a command to turn off global chat:
    /sg leave (According to Birdgirl)
    It could be /sg off , but the command may be broken in its entirety.
    Not to be generic in my response, but I understand your point of view here... I think about this problem all the time. I'll see to it to the best of my ability to have a few changes :smile:
