    Brawl Junior Moderator Application:

Have you read over this thread? - Yes, I have many-a-times to check on the requirements to see if I meet them.

What is your in-game name? - TheZombieKat
Have you changed your name in the past? If you have, please list them. - No I have not. I have never and will never change my in-game name.
Does anyone else have access to your Minecraft account? - Nobody has access to this account. I change the password regularly, also, just to be on the safe side.

How old are you? - I am 17 years of age, born in February of 1998.
What time zone are you in? - I am in the PST timezone (GMT-8)
Are you multilingual? Can you speak multiple languages? - Unfortunately, I can only speak English. I took Russian for 2 years, but I do not speak it well enough to hold a conversation. I also know a small amount of Finnish, just enough to type out a simple message to convey a thought. I would not consider myself fluent in either of these languages.

What is your experience and knowledge of Minecraft? - I have been playing Minecraft since the beginning of 2012. My brother got an account, but I did not because I thought the game looked rather silly. My friend allowed me to play on her account in March of 2012. After playing for about an hour, I became hooked. I began to constantly play on my brother's account. I played a lot of survival games. One day in May of 2012, my brother called me over to the computer to show me a cool server he found. It was MCPVP's Capture the Flag. I began playing on Capture the Flag all the time. I would spend many hours a day during the summer playing this gamemode. It became my life. Finally, in December of 2012, my brother got fed up with me hogging his account, so he had me buy my own.

Once I bought my own account, I continued to play on Capture the Flag, but I also started playing on factions servers, kitpvp servers, and survival servers. I never really enjoyed the survival aspect of Minecraft, I found it rather boring. The combat factor of kitpvp servers and Capture the Flag mesmerized me, however. In August of 2013, I became active in the MCPVP community and on the forums, accruing a couple thousand posts. I eventually stopped playing on survival and faction servers, because they got dull to me. I have been playing Capture the Flag ever since.

What is your experience with moderating servers, if any?
    - I was an admin on a small survival server, and head moderator of a kitpvp server. Both of those servers have since then shut down due to lack of funds. I am currently an admin on a server that an anti-hack gaming community I am in runs. It is really just a server for us and our friends, but I do have experience with moderating a server.

While I was head moderator of the kitpvp server, I had the chance to ban many hackers. One of my favorite things to do was to ask the player why he was hacking. I've heard many different reasons why. "I do not like the server, and wanted to just get banned off of it", "I am not good enough to play on this server, so I used hacks to become better", and "I wanted to show everyone that I am the best". I feel like I would be very responsible when it comes to handling hackers.

What will you provide to the community if you are provided moderator status?
    - If I was provided moderator status, I would help bring about a fun and friendly environment for players. I thoroughly enjoy helping new players understand more about Capture the Flag, since I am a dedicated player and have been for 3 years. Getting new people participating in the server I love is something I strive to do.

Have you ever used a hacked client before? - No, I have never used a hacked client. I have, however, used an xray texture pack on a survival server. I saw that it was against the rules, and felt horrible about it. I deleted said pack and have never used another one.
Have you ever been banned on a Minecraft server? If so, why? - Unfortunately I have been banned before. I was banned on the Hypixel server for advertising.

I also have two temporary bans on Brawl, both within the past 10 days. The first one was while my Capture the Flag team was waiting for the competitive match to start. b0squet made a rule in chat that anyone who was not standing in spawn would be kicked from the server. Right before he said this, though, my mom came home with the groceries and needed my help unloading them. When I sat back down at my computer, I saw I had been kicked (well, temporarily banned for ~30 seconds). The second one was during a practice. Wintergreen3 invited the Capture the Flag team I am in to practice with her's. I wanted to be on red team, but Winter switched me to blue. I switched back to red a couple of times, and got a deserving kick (temporary ban for ~30 secounds) for being inconvenient. I very much regret pushing my luck with Winter, and it will never happen again.

What do you consider your greatest strength? - I would consider my greatest strength my loyalty to friends and to things I love. When a friend is going through depression, being made fun of, or just plain old bad times, I am there to help. Friendship is precious to me, because I feel like it is what makes me happy. If a friend needs to vent about things, I am there to listen. Loyalty is something that should never be broken.

What do you consider your greatest weakness?
    - I would identify my greatest weakness as my temper. If I am being personally attacked, someone turns their back on me, or someone is continuously berating a friend, my temper will show. I am working on controlling my temper, and have been doing much better than previous months. I work hard on not losing my cool when things go wrong, and I will have to say I have around a 90% success rate.

How active do you consider yourself on Brawl? - I consider myself very active on Brawl. I play every day, for multiple hours a day. I often play late into the night with all the Australian players. I do not really play any other servers, because Capture the Flag is one game on Minecraft I have never gotten tired of. Whenever my computer is on, I am logged on the Teamspeak server. I am on it for multiple hours during the day, and I log on it multiple times a day. I browse the forums multiple times a day, also. I read through just about every Capture the Flag post, comment, and thread, and I reply to many myself.

Brawl servers are you most active on?
    - I am definitely the most active on Capture the Flag. Since the statistics have been up, I had accrued more than 171 hours of play time. I am on Capture the Flag every day, and for multiple hours a day. I enjoy capping flags, running around bashing in people's skulls, and goofing off with friends. There have been so many great memories I have associated with Capture the Flag, and I plan on making many more. I will also add in that I play Hardcore Games a bit, but no where near as much as I play Capture the Flag.

How many hours can you provide a day and during what time frame? - As I stated above somewhere, I play at a later time than most people. I play between the hours of 4pm and 2am PST. I can offer between 2 and 6 hours every day, depending on homework, extra-curricular activities, illnesses, and family matters. On weekends, I can play anywhere from 1 hour to 16 hours, depending on the things stated above. I do not really do many things other than go to school, do homework, and play video games.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule in-game? - Here are the steps I would follow according to what rule they are breaking.

Hacking: As a junior moderator, I would not have the ability to ban people, so I would do the following. I would record the hacker and report them using /report. I would also submit a report on the forums with the video I had recorded. I would let a higher ranking staff member know of the hacker, and let them deal with the rule breaker in the appropriate way.

Spamming/Advertising: I would politely ask them to stop spamming/advertising. If they continue to spam/advertise, I would warn them of the consequences. I will take screenshots of the spamming/advertising If they continue, I would mute them for an appropriate amount of time.

Glitching: First, I would check out the glitch and see if it effected the gameplay. Next, the player would get a warning telling of the consequences of abusing the glitch, and if they did not heed the warning, I would kick them. If they continue, a higher ranked staff member will be alerted and the individual abusing the glitch will be dealt with.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on the forums? - If they are posting inappropriate material, I would delete the post/thread and advise the person of the rules. If someone flaming, I will lock the thread and message the individual about the rules. If a controversial thread is made, I would moderate it and make sure the discussion does not get out of hand. If it is a simple misplacement of a thread, I would let a Senior Moderator know and ask them to move the thread to the correct location. If there is a duplicate thread, I would lock said thread and give the person a link to the original thread so the discussion can continue.

What would you do if someone breaks a rule on TS3? - If someone is posting screamers or inappropriate links, I would inform them that it is breaking a rule. If they continue, I will kick them. If they are using a voice changer, have background noise, or playing music, I will move them to the Private Support/Jail channel and explain to them the rules. If they were playing music, I would inform them there is recording/music channel where they can play the music. If they do not follow these rules, I will mute them for an appropriate amount of time.

Situation (as a staff member): You log on Brawl, and you’re told that there is a huge, game-breaking economy glitch. No Admins are online to solve the situation. What steps would you take to handle the issue? - My first course of action would be to alert a Senior Moderator or a Developer. Next, I would try to learn as much about the glitch as I can, understanding how it affects the server. I would try to keep the glitch as low profile as possible, providing it is not already wide spread among players. Warning players of the consequences for abusing this glitch and kicking players who abuse the glitch would be the next step. Finally, I would continue to moderate the server until a higher ranked staff can deal with the players and glitch.

How many Brawl staff applications have you made in the past? - This is my third application I have made on Brawl.

What is the date of the last application you submitted?
    - I submitted the last application on September 19th, 2015.

Do you have a working microphone? - Yes, I do have a microphone that I use to talk in Skype calls, talk in TeamSpeak, and participate in online classes for school.
Are you able to record and upload videos? - I have Fraps, and I am able to record and upload videos whenever I want. I have mainly used it to record hackers on Capture the Flag and report them.

Do you generally know how all the staff member commands work? - Yes I do. I have read the thread created by Cuddled multiple times, and I have prior experience with several of the commands. If I ever had a question about what a command does and how to execute it, I would ask another staff member before I did anything.

Anything else we should know about you? - My name is Adam, and I am from California, USA. I have been playing on Brawl since MCPVP's Capture the Flag was bought and transferred. I am not very superstitious, but I sure hope 7 really is a lucky number. This is my 3rd moderator application on Brawl for Capture the Flag, and my 7th one in total. I am not much of a social person, and spend a lot of my time on the Internet. I just recently reached my Eagle Scout rank in Boy Scouts, and I am a senior in highschool.

I would like to thank everyone for taking the time to read this application! If I am denied, oh well. You will see another application from me in a month or so! I will take the feedback I get and work on the requirements for next time. Once again, thanks so much for reading my application! I really appreciate it!

    Hey, Kat!
Looks like you've posted an application for Junior Moderator, and I give you props! Unfortunately, I don't think you're ready for this position- but not for what you think.

    Here's Why:

Application: +1, There are quite a few details in your application. Well done
Teamspeak Activity: +0, I've seen you online, but not as often as I would like to see you. Work on that.
Forums Activity: +0, you have some posts, but try to stick to more beneficial and helpful posts.
Maturity: +0, I don't know you well enough to provide you feedback in this area :frowning:

Once you fulfill the issues stated above, you will have my +1... As for now, I have to say otherwise.
In addition to that- this has been stated on other applications- but we have several CTF Moderators of all sorts. I would see to it you wait out the great deal of Moderation we have already.

Good luck in the future, you'll do great

Hey Zombie! You're really active ingame, and have a good understanding of the gamemode. However, I hardly see you on teamspeak, and your forum posts could be more useful, as already mentioned. While I don't think new CTF mods are currently a requirement, I'd consider giving a +1 if you fixed these things.

I thank you very much for your feedback! I will work on the things you mentioned. I think the reason you don't see me on teamspeak is because of timezones. I get on it once I get home from school, which is at 3:30pm PST, so around 11:30pm for any British players, and later for other Europeans.

Hey Zombie, glad to see you applied. Let my down a quick run-down and tell you what I think.

    • Application +1 It flows nicely and is easy to read
    • Forums +0.5 Youre decently active, but I feel as it needs a little push to get that +1
    • Teamspeak +1 I see you on frequently
    • In-Game +0 I don't play CTF so I can't judge
    • Maturity +0 You seem mature, but the recent bans do startle me a little bit. I can't really judge because I don't know you that well
    Overall, +1

    Good Luck!
