    I came across a way to automatically find sky bases while you are AFK. Better yet, this method puts you at the site of the base- all you need to do is AFK in a certain manner and see if it finds any.

    BTW it involves a boat, slime balls and redstone.

    Is it like some floaty-boat-going-in-all-directions-until-it-hits-something kind of thing? Or is like a keep-going-till-you-hit-a-shadow-thing? Or is a huge-bonkin-slime-block-machine-that-keeps-going-till-it-hits-something, but IDK how that involves boats... anyhow... you really gotta show me this dood.

    So the gist of this was I was going build a flying machine; the idea is that I would ride on this at about y=255 and let it eventually hit a skybase (since they are at that level). Yes, it is possible to build a rideable flying machine in Vanilla minecraft 1.8...



    The problem is that the PVP servers do not allow you to put down a boat on any non-water block. So this makes a rideable flying machine not possible.

    However, flying machines can be built on PVP... In fact, here's one I built tonight, cruising at an altitude of 254 blocks. I'm too lazy to go get it and furthermore, it'll probably be halfway across the map by the time 1.9 comes out. (I know it's hard to see but looks like the machine in the Youtube vid).

    Anyway, I'll offer a 1,000 gold reward to anyone who can make this rideable.

    Challenge rescinded.

    I got it to work.

    Hint: put water down first, then boat, then remove water with sponge.

    The thing actually works pilotless. I am just perfecting the 'cockpit' and this should be a thing.

    Also 1 problem ritzy, once these machines leave loaded chunks they will stop moving until the chunks are loaded :confused:

    bruh it will stop when it hits render distance

    You would have to make a mini hybrid on top of that
    or get a ton of pistons and make them push a crap ton of sand

    I tried making one of these a while ago. I got it to work without a boat, but whenever the server lagged a bit, I would fall through the blocks. Are you having this issue with the boat? :open_mouth:
