War - Beef and Cheese

I completely disagree. The war community is a strong community as a whole. They can take a little waiting because they know it will be worth it.

 

I've been waiting for War 2.0 for more than a year now. Step your game up.

 

You're so angry but your status says, "attempting to learn code." If that's the case then you should know that it takes quite a while and staff will want to be sure it is done right the first time.

 

Of course it takes a long time. For a more difficult language. Java is very easy to learn and not that difficult to master compared to the C languages. Don't get me wrong, I feel for these coders. It takes a lot of patience to sit down on a computer. But it doesn't take that long to revise a gamemode in minecraft. The problem is that we don't have any full time coders. I don't think the coders are lazy or anything I can tell they are busy. If the Brawl team is really serious about the server, they need to hire someone who can output code efficiently. Maybe a jobless compsci major straight out of college? I don't know anymore they promised this to us more than a year ago then switch to other projects. Nothing ever gets done.

I'm going to start off with the "it takes quite a while" part. It's been over 3 years since War 2.0's release was scheduled. Can you guess what we got in over 3 years? A new hub spawn. And that took over 2 years just to drag one file in to another. That's extreme laziness. I understand that coding can get difficult, but it's just ridiculous that it's been over 3 years since new gameplay content has been released.

On another note, further up you said, "The war community is strong as a whole. They can take a little waiting because they know it will be worth it". Over 3 years. Over 3 years of waiting. People are pi**ed off at brawl, and have been after 3 months of the scheduled release date. I'm just severely disappointed in brawl and I've quit because of the lack of new content. Sure some of the other gamemodes were fun, until the hackers showed up. I honestly love MineStrike, but the one thing that kills me is the lack of players and lack of attention it gets. For the few people that play it, it's community is infinitely times better than all of the other communities combined because everyone is just so genuinely kind. I know that posting on the forums does absolutely nothing because brawl won't force the coders to do anything, whatever the players suggest isn't even glanced at because that's another thing to code, and for the staff that actually is on, (maybe 2 on WarZ, 0 on War, definitely 0 on MineStrike, and the others I'm not too sure of) when a hacker is on the server and people are complaining about it, they do absolutely nothing.

Brawl as a whole is becoming a junkyard, day at a time. Thanks for taking the time to read my rant, I'm just pi**ed at brawl for all they said they'd do but never did.

 

*sigh*. The most active coders are working on Wild West... And after thar there will be worked on War 2.0. Theres already some things done for War. The reply you just posted is useless, same as the other 1000 of them... Can't say anything else now.

 

Wild West won't be completed until I'm 87 years old. Good luck with that one

 

Look, Wild West needs just a few things done. Its almost ready, its almost in Beta.
Things I copied from the Wild West thread:
What's left to do
Green - Completed
Yellow - Significant progress, not 100% completed
Red - Haven't gotten to yet.

• Finish up some GUI stuff
• Balancing (for chest looting, prices, etc)
• Make sure economy is somewhat balanced (for a beta)
• Configuring (gun damage values, setting up spawn locations, etc)
• Make any last minutes code changes, additions, or removals
• Make sure everything saves properly (money, cartels, etc)
• Find and fix all current bugs throughout code
• Complete map. A few more building have to be placed and a lot of polishing.
• Putting together texture pack (textures already done, just needs to be put together)

Check the thread about Wild West, there's still one more thing they have to do, then it's done and we can play.

 

I'm not downing the coders, although that's what is implied. Realistically, I'm clowning brawl since they never release anything within a reasonable time.

There's still no release date...

 

I'm not saying there is, I'm saying that they only have to do one thing which will probably take months then we can play (when it becomes public)

Listen. I know you guys are mad. I get that. I feel the same with a gamemode on party. No one wants to be told something will be done by a certain time and then it isn't. But please, I beg of you all, to please understand that while you guys are playing the games and criticizing, many of our coders have lives. They have family afternoons. They have college classes. Contrary to popular belief, most of the staff here doesn't get paid to take care of this. They do it out of love for the community, but you are making it really difficult for them to find the strength to continue by knocking them down... There's only so many times you can take a hit. So I guess I'm biased. I guess it's because I'm a jmod that I'm taking the coder's sides, but I know what they do behind the scenes. I know when I ask them to play a game with me and they say they can't because they want to fix a giant bug in the coding sequence for this gae that they will probably never play again. That's dedication. Don't knock them for it.

 

Awh crap you're too early I wanted to be cool and say that.
But really, featherpaw is right. When I tried to learn to code even a little bit, it didn't work out. It was so difficult that I wasn't sure what I was doing, even with help of an experienced coder. So as featherpaw said, coding takes a crap ton of time, and all of the higher staff: Lord_Roke, Cuddled, Audy, Jayden, chickenputty, NomNuggetNom, they work their butt of only to make our server, TS3 server and the forums updated even if its just a bug fix.
So think with your brain that has been given when you we're bored and freaking use it when you critize someone/something.

Still, we were promised War 2.0 back in 2012, then 2013 came, and then '14, and then this year. That's the whole reason I've quit brawl as a whole. I know that I'm being a little redundant here, but the message still stands: I can't ever trust brawl with a release that's planned.

 

if you supposedly "quit" the server, then I can't comprehend why you continue to come on the forums wasting your and our time trying to trash the server with rude and hateful comments.
