I got a lot of posts just last week. I could've had more though, it's just that I didn't feel the need to say stupid things. I tend to stay in topic, just a joke every now and then.

I mean, the problem with having a requirement is that some people may end up spamming the forums in order to reach the number of posts required. If anything more helpful posts should be looked up upon.

Weighing in as Evil Overlords do, I would suggest the requirements stay the same.

Time and time again, Mods who are resigning call out poor training or management.

I would propose focusing on these key elements.
    1) Mod on-boarding with weekly plan and key milestones as well as 30-60-90 day check in with mgmt.
    2) Mod buddies to ask questions too
    3) Training
    4) Clearly defined rules or a guidebook of what is or is not acceptable (with examples) from mods who have been banned in the past

    5) Permission to make mistakes and ability to suspend Mod status for school, sports or just to take a break. This would need to be some type of formal process.

    Hey!
I understand your points. I believe quality over quantity. If you have 300 posts saying, "Ya I agree this should get added". I think it is better to have 30 posts with giving good information on the topic the thread applies to. I don't think forum activity should be a huge requirement for Moderators.
    Have a great day!

Mods do need forum activity. Quality over quantity, yes, but why not both? If a player has only 30 helpful posts, that's not enough. You need at least 100 posts, and not spam posts.
People that want to be mod need to realize that their time will come. Just be patient and work towards it. Don't stress it. The more time it takes, the more mature you'll be.

Well, for starters I think you're completely misconstruing what activity is. Being active on the forums doesn't necessarily mean that you've got to make hundreds and hundreds of posts. It just means that you're logging in for a couple hours every or every other day to check in, see how things are going, and moderating if necessary.

Secondly, your points that having more posts 'better prepares one for a variety of situations' or that applicants 'would be better prepared to interact/communicate with other people' is dubious at best and nonsense at worst. As I understand it, those who are accepted as moderators should already be mature enough to handle a variety of moderating situations or to interact with Brawl's community. I hardly see how having 300 forum posts (which is an extremely arbitrary number) is going to make one more mature or socially adept because there are people on here who have made twice that number of posts and are about as idiotic as they were when they first joined.

Take @_Featherpaw_ for example. She's got around 100 forum posts and yet as far as I can tell she's one of the nicest people on here.

Furthermore your point that 'staff would have a better understanding of the forums' if they make enough posts (you said this twice in your topic post) is also a highly questionable claim to make. How did you arrive at the logic that if and only if a staff applicant makes 300 posts on the forums that they will have a good understanding of how to use them? Sure, there's the experience gained from trial and error (making lots of posts and learning as you go I guess?) but it's really not that difficult to figure out the basics of the Brawl forums without making a ton of posts.

    Agreed.

When you were being considered for trial mod on MCPVP, your abilities to detect hacks was the main thing looked at. Many of the MCPVP mods, didn't spend a lot of time on the forums.
