Now that a bit of time has passed since brawl bought out mcpvp, what are all your opinions of the effects on the merge? I feel as if now is an appropariate time to discuss/revisit this as the effects of it can also be seen (rather than 1-2 weeks afterwards where blind insults of each server being better were thrown around).

Here's some pros/cons I came up with to help get the conversation started.

    Pros:
    • 3 new gamemodes!
    • New Ideas brought over
      • Slack
      • BAC
    • A boost to the playercount
    Cons:
    • Conflicting views on issues such as the creative merge
    • For MCPVP: The community dispersed throughout many servers, not just brawl

    • Informative Informative x 1

I feel like the move has been a positive thing in general, with more people coming in and this means more money for the servers but with the move I feel like Brawl is moving away from what made it great, War and WarZ and becoming more of a standardised Minecraft server with the same gamemodes as servers like Hypixel and stuff.

MCPVP's gamemodes were pretty original though, the concept of HG isn't really original but for the longest time MCPVP's HG pretty much stood out as the top of the line

Edit: Plus since then brawls actually removed SG which is moving in the opposite direction of the server chains

That may be true, but for someone who has been here before warZ was released the addition of these "mainstream" servers like HG and CTF kind of takes away from the creativity that put Brawl on the map.

The names are "mainstream" but the gameplay is like no other, and there was a time when this server had SG and Skywars which is way more mainstream imo

I kind of have this feeling you haven't fully played either of the gamemodes because if you have you wouldn't be comparing it to Hypixel etc.

I have played all of them in fact. Remember this is just my opinion on the merge. I am not bashing it or saying it's a bad thing, I just think that Brawl has moved on from what made it what it is today.

I know it's your opinion but I don't see how these games are mainstream/hypixel games

Anyways my opinion on the merge, I like it. I also find it kind of funny that Mcpvp (when it was big) pretty much put brawl on the map and in return many years later brawl took some of Mcpvps gamemodes and made it apart of their own. Although I don't play anymore it warms my heart to know that my favorite game since 2012 isn't just completely gone and others can still enjoy it as I did

Cowlick is just saying that hunger games is a broad server that's found on a lot of servers, not particularly pertaining to hypixel. I guess hypixel was a poor example.

Anyways, I agree with the fact that the merge was positive, but I also think that Brawl should stick and focus more to its roots.

    I hate it. I honestly tink mcpvp is better dan brawl. @hclewk @ikemulti @whoeverelseithoughtwassomekindaadminorroyaltytomcpvp @Crowhart @BadBoyHalo

Now for brawl: @Striker_Sl- oh wait. D: @Viva

Why do you think there are negative outcomes from the merge, just between players? :O

If the server didn't merge there would be no more McPVP.

Then stop complaining, it's better to have what's left of mcpvp than nothing.

So far I've enjoyed the merge. It brought over a lot of cool people, and game modes. I enjoy playing CTF on occasion, as well as build. The only con I can think of is the fact that Creative is merging with Build, as long as we get to keep our builds I'm fine, but it won't be the same community as it was before. Overall I think the merge has brought a lot of new chances and opportunities for Brawl.

    :'(

    In all seriousness
I think that the merge brought a lot more positives and negatives. I see that both sides are frustrated, and both with good reason. In my opinion I like the merge, and all the opputunites its presented Brawl with. I like all the new people and new gamemodes. I've built many friendships. However I think that a lot of McPvPers have somewhat of a nostalgia for their home server, which is completely understandable. Also as stated by @Chopo Brawl did at least try to help McPvP by salvaging a few of its most popular gamemodes. I understand the frustration, but thats just my opinion C:

Positive: I'm glad HG is still living

    Negative:
    - It's still in BETA
    - No tourneys (kinda links with the first point)
    - A pretty great community split apart
    - Forums: No more fun watching threads started by DuckDPVP / ElegantAshes

To be honest, the player count isn't really special. Mc-war and warz used to fill up in servers, but now they're in the dust. I even remember player count on brawl usually around 1800+. We needed (I think) 20 servers for war at one point. The only time player count is decently high is on the weekends.

Same for HG. RIP those days when people said that 30 players a game was little, and there were at least 20 players on at the most non-peak hour
