A lot of veterans aren't playing Brawl coz of the long waiting times.
Let's say a new player joins a game and gets killed within 3 min. He has to wait about 20 min for the next game. I'm quite sure he wouldn't try HG again

 

It can be very tedious to die in the first couple of minutes, only to have to wait another 20 for a game to start. That is an hour of waiting for every three games you play.

Also, the Quarter Quell should be held as the new movie comes out, in order to capture the new influx of players that are sure to come. In my opinion we need to flood the hardcore games with special events in order to capitalise on this.

 

I like the idea of hosting another event, maybe a full fledged Quarter Quell. Possibly have the same qualification system as McPVP (problem is there might not be enough players to sustain that)? Or maybe just have it be an open event. The only real problem I see with this is that there likely won't be $500 for a reward.

 

But the prize should be something similar. MCPVP first prize was lifetime pro, so probably the same here. And maybe invites only, just coz

 

I don't think that would really work. As much as I would prefer 1.7 over 1.8 it wouldn't make sense to downsize to 1.7 just for one server and have the rest be 1.8. It'd get annoying having to switch the versions. I don't really think a mixture of the two would work well either.

 

Instead of the 500$ reward it could be Top 2-3 get elite membership for 3 months 1st place gets 5 months of elite 4-12 gets 3 Kits. @Viva

 

Might not attract back the veterans like Stolen, untrooced, DuckDPVP/elegantashes tho. IMO should be something bigger

I'm sure he meant make it both 1.7 and 1.8 compatible. Of course, those playing with 1.7 will be at an advantage, but at least you don't need to keep downgrading and upgrading

 

The problem with that is Hardcore Games on Brawl is not as popular as it was in MCPVP, so therefore the prize cannot be that large. I think that more special events with lesser prizes would be a better idea as it would attract more players.

 

I'm not too sure about this, but I heard that MCPVP were making profits even with the $500 prize. May not be a lot, but apparently they were. I can see Brawl making a larger profit.

 

They had many more players then then Brawl does now, so they could afford to make the reward more. For now it would be better to have more events in total as the sporadic nature of these events will attract more new players who will hopefully stick around due to the chance of more events and more prizes.

 

I don't agree with having more events. Because QQs were monthly, it lost its hype. I think it should be every 3 months or something. And Brawl can make a profit with $500, they have so many people in other servers, perhaps they could be attracted to the QQ

 

For the QQ they should make the soup prize bigger than the no-soup one because it would encourage noobs to learn how to soup.
The problem with 1.7 is that it causes a lot of lag which would just do more harm than good.
Please don't make the wait times longer, they are already barely bearable. Also, most veterans don't want to play no-soup, so having to wait 30 minutes for another soup game isn't going to help player retention rate.

 

The no soup servers are almost the same in terms of quantity, as far as I know. In terms of the quarter quell, there will be little hype as there is a smaller player base. The special events will be used to attract newer players, so they should be more frequent.
