When I first posted a application, I had no idea what to do. But when I found out I needed ts3 on my second application, I was mad. I put all my effort into reading and writing my application and all I get was to be active on the forums and ts3. I am on the forums, although I'm not logged in. Also, ts3 is restricted for me. If I need ts3, for all the mod applicants deciding on sending an application, I'm guessing you have to sadly get ts3 first (if you can).

First if all Reading posts on the forums isnt the same thing as posting 300 posts (recomended minimum for applying for mod) and yeah you need ts3 for sure. Its important to communicate and not just in game i guess.

It is stated on this thread that you need to be active in all 3 areas to be able to become a staff member.
The first question on the application form is if you read said thread, so I think we did enough to ensure that applicants know the requirements.

How do you not know that you have to be active in all these fields? The first couple questions of the application format are something along the lines of "Are you active on ___?".

Edit: they updated the format, those questions are no longer asked. Although, teamspeak is mentioned throughout the application.

Yeah but if there is a forums chat, what's the point of ts3? The 300 posts I can't argue, but seriously. And I did read the requirements. I tried to convince my parents but it wouldn't work.

Yes I understand. I'm active on the chat though .

And couldn't the chat count as a field?

The point of teamspeak is to communicate with other staff and players both verbally and through chat. You can't actually speak to people in the shoutbox.

Dude I have parents that aren't easy to convince that is my problem and I understand but ts3 or nothing is crazy to think. I feel jmod can be a person who just helps and does whatever he can and for there are meetings you don't have to use ts3. Some people aren't comfortable.

First of all, 300 posts on the forums is not a requirement. You need to be active and helpful, no specific amount of posts is required.

You can't really compare Teamspeak3 and the Forums chat. Teamspeak is used for voice communication, has multiple channels and it is very important for staff organization, communication and helping players.

But if people aren't comfortable, what happens? I mean, if your a really helpful nice guy who's active, can't they be mod? Isn't the point of mod to help?

And if this is gonna be an endless conversation, I'm never gonna send an application of all you need is ts3, and being very active on all three fields. I'm sorry if I wasted your time

Yes, but you have to follow brawl's protocol. No teamspeak activity = no staff rank.

Then there's other things you need to take into account for:
    - Staff meetings
    - Verbal consultation among players
    - Confrontations regarding staff issues

There's many uses for TS3 distinct from in-game and forums. If your parents don't allow you to use TS3, chances are you've proven to them you are mature enough to handle such a thing.

I'm still saying I'd people aren't comfortable with ts3, then I'm not gonna bother.

Try hard for mod, do everything but don't have ts3 = no staff.

    That's what your saying ^.

Yes, because teamspeak is one of the required fields that you're supposed to be active in, such as the forums or in-game. We've been telling you that.

TS3 allows people to get to know who you really are. Anyone can act mature in-game and on the forums but if you are talking to people on TS then they can know who you are as a person. Plus it allows for more direct and immediate contact between staff and the community.

Teamspeak in your phone works. The "brawl app" is tapatalk, it's a different way to get on the forums, not a teamspeak replacement.

There's an app for teamspeak, though it costs around $5.00 I believe.

I'm still confused - if you aren't comfortable with TS3, why are you considering an app for it? If this isn't the case, then what makes your parents think you aren't ready for something like this?
