Idea ELO Idea (Must be implemented)

    I'm tired of dying during a 1v6 and the person who kills me is a leather who didn't deserve the kill whatsoever. It's annoying to see myself losing 2 elo to a player who one-shot me with a spas-12 while their teammates are shooting me as well. So here is my idea:

    ELO gain should depend not only on the current things it depends on, but how many people you are friended to at the time. For example, if I am being chased by 5 guys who are all shooting, and the leather somehow kills me, they wouldn't get as much ELO since they were friended to those others at the time.

    Perhaps to make it easier it can be like this:
    1 friend = 15% less ELO earned (this may be changed)

    EDIT: New idea. ELO gain can also be affected by total damage dealt to the player. So the person with the kill still receives 100% of the ELO, the amount may be the same. Let's say 3 people were chasing me and one person is responsible for 10 barrett head-shots. Then, out of nowhere, his teammate grapples towards me and AK sprays me in the air, killing me. Does that person really deserve a big chunk of the ELO if it hadn't been for his friend repeatedly hitting me with a barrett?

    What if you kill 6 full diamonds, but you had 3 teammate online that weren't there? I don't see it working out too well. And people with extremely high ELO losing a lot to people with lower ELO balances things out, and gives them more ELO. I have to say it would be interesting, but I like ELO fine the way it is.

    Definitely, big teams seem to be the biggest cause of the tension between the WarZ community and it'd be great to make them less powerful.

    But you see, here's the issue: when do you see someone in leather, clutching 6 full ds? Regardless, they would most likely gain 1-2 elo for each kill, so with my idea it wouldn't be affected that much. Let's do the math: 1.5 elo x 6 kills = 9 elo, and each friend (3) x 15% elo loss is 45%, which is 4.05 elo still. That's AFTER the fact I mentioned - when would that even happen? It's way to unrealistic to base that on a problem that persists each day.

    I see... But it would have to be coded so that it would be teammates in a certain area around you, not just on the server.
    But this would be a nice feature.

    I think there should be a timer, like if a friend shoots the enemy, a Countdown of 10 seconds starts, if you kill the enemy in the 10 seconds, your friend gets half of the elo and you get the other half of it.
    And if 3 people shoots at the enemy and you kill it, you get 1/3 elo and ypur friend gets 1/3 elo each.

    I actually like this.
    Lets put this into a simple format.
    Person who did the most damage within a 10 minute timer will get most of the ELO if that person indeed did most of the damage. This also counts for everybody who fought said person. Within a group of people, the ELO is divided up between the X number of people and X amount of damage each person did when that person died.

    Now about the timer.
    If someone is fighting them, they have a 10 minute timer that will proc for 10 minutes, having like "Give person base % ELO when enemy dies". If that timer goes up, then you won't get any ELO after the time period.


    TL;DR, Person deals most damage, gets a cookie, no freeloading

    1. I feel like it's ironic you're mad over getting 1v6'd.
    2. I like the idea. Maybe something like the amount of friends you have within a 20 block radius of, so all of your team could get on and would be dead but you would still get ELO.

    Even when I'm on the 6v1 side, this idea would affect me too. I'm just expressing the idea for the community, I hate myself kappa

    I like Pikmin's idea but I think the 10 minute timer is excessive. A lot happens in 10 minutes. Also, if you knew the player was going to die and you wanted as much ELO as possible, you could just keep spraying them or Barrett headshot them, without actually going for the kill.

    To be honest, the whole ELO system is flawed for WarZ due to teams. I may be wrong, but I'm pretty sure ELO is a system designed to show skill in a 1v1 basis. Chess and Tennis tournaments, 1v1s on a kit server. When you have multiple teams fighting at once, everything gets messy and you can be sure that the ELO that was gained in that fight will not accurately represent who was the most skilled.

    Personally, I'd like to bring back WarZ 21 with multiple game modes; 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, up to 8v8. ELO would be gained as normal, except it would be fair. And since everyone has 3/4, you wouldn't lose massive ELO to a full leather who didn't deserve the kill. That would be a true test of skill. I would actually be very interested to see who would get the highest ELO from that.

    @Mario, thoughts?

    the whoever did most damage gets most elo thing already existed - but the some of the guns w/ armor penetration broke this (too lazy to explain fully why).

    can't necessarily do this without messing around with the code for a solid amount of time which is a significant waste of time.

    Hmm, good point. Even though it seems like a nice idea, just how flawed ELO is in WarZ. In reality, ELO shouldn't even be in the current WarZ with the issue with teams. Edit: Just saw Mario's comment about the damage thingy.
    The WarZ 21 with multiple gamemodes, yass. That would work out more normally than the current WarZ.

    You know, this is why I completely disregard ELO. It is very confusing and it really doesn't matter for anything in game.

    There really should be rewards to having high ELO but that's an idea for later, and not now especially with things like ELO glitches and imbalances like this.

    No. There shouldn't be. The teams that 69v1 like yours are going to get more rewards in addition to the higher elo they get from gangbanging single full d's. Please stop making threads like this that are imbalanced to benefit you.

    I need ideas other than to split the ELO between who damaged the person. That didn't work out last time due to how the guns work w/ damaging people (armor penetration).
