    I just played DDay (also commonly called Decision Day or Doomsday) and was unfortunately placed on the red team. I was sort of disappointed when I spawned in that I was on red. I played my first life out; I use the jump pads and I die instantly because I land in the cobwebs. Ok, I was slightly annoyed. The next life, the same thing happened. I use the jump pads and I die instantly. I got annoyed. the third life, I don't use the second jump pad and try to go in the water. That didn't go much better; I died almost the instant I got near the shore and I got no kills. I tried that again and the same thing happened. I was 0-4. That's bad. I had no chance of doing anything that round and /spawn'ed. The game would just go on the same way with me dying without a chance of doing anything. This map is totally unfair and unbalanced.

    To the blue team, it's an easy walk out of spawn. There is literally NO chance of being killed for the first 15 or so blocks walked. Then, it's a choice to either scale down or to stay up on the cliff. From there, either way, you can see every aspect of the map - from red to blue. You can see all of the boats, Red's spawn, and the beach below. There are many obstacles to hide behind that are very close to the cliff so there's almost no chance of being killed from behind. To the blue team, it's a walk in the park.

    To the red team, it's a grind every step of the way past the first three blocks. Immediately, you are open to dying from any direction except from behind. Even better, you walk through an opening that is only a few blocks wide. This gives such an opportunity for anyone on the blue team to kill someone straight off the bat with a high chance of the bullets making contact. From there, there are the jump pads which catapult you forward anywhere near the shore. If you land in the water, you are an easy, slow-moving target to hit for the blue team. Any red team in the water is impossible to miss also, because blue and red are some of the most contrasting colors. If you don't land in the water, you land in a boat which is a small area for the blue team to hit. From the boats, the jump pads lead you right in the center of the shore. Most of the time, you land in one of the cobwebs and are an immobile, easy target. From my experiences, this leads to a very fast death with almost no time to do any damage to the blue team, leaving Blue unscathed as a whole. The other small percentage of the time, you land in the sand which leads to practically the same thing. You are swarmed with enemies and someone, from somewhere will kill you very fast.

    To me, this seems like a walk in the park for the blue team and a stroll through Hell for the red team. The blue team has a massive advantage in any game - big or small. I get that this map has monumental historical significance, and that's probably why such an unfair map is somehow still in the lottery to be picked, but come on. It really isn't fun for the red team and it serves as a "free-kills" map for the blue team. From now on, if I am placed on the red team, I will immediately type out /spawn.

    1) It's not a big deal; the aim, shoot and kill principal is still there so you should be able to play.

    2) Has nobody thought of the idea that DDay f*cking is supposed to be unbalanced? Just use your brains and then you will realise it is true.

    3) It is true that there need to be a few changes to the map, such as a longer beach and the possibility to push blue back.
    But in the meantime just seek cover (underwater/in a boat), shoot, push and have some fun.

    1) Ya, but its a big deal when you can't do anything at all. I think you would feel the sane way if that happened to you.

    2) Btw, I know more about DDay than most people. I know what it was all about and why the US did it and all that. It's supposed to be unbalanced, but it's pretty damn (used to convey a point, not just to swear) unbalanced.

    3) I know how to play the game. I'm not talking about an inability to play the game and have fun, I'm talking about the unfairness of the map.

    I don't think it's as bad as you make it seem. I never die because of cobwebs, all you have to do is just avoid them when jumping, and find a hole to camp in. I always nuke on red side... But I can't tell y'all my secret.

    Anyways, the map is a bit unfair, but sometimes if the red can push back the blue it gets very easy to spawn trap them. This map can really go either way depending on the teams.

    The unfair is all about the water. Swimming goes slow, easy target. And jump pads might be good but maybe @daniellazer2902 and whoever that you build this Map with can redo it so the boat is at the coadt line(with the spawnpoint).

    I think the map should have more jump pads, that would make it fair in my opinion.

    DDay was never removed so it's not getting removed when the Holiday Old Maps are.

    More cover for red, less water, and make it longer for blue to walk.

    I do think that it is very hard to play on Dday in the red team.

    And just think: Everyone that replies to such threads are people above 30+. People stop thinking about the new players getting r3kt immediately when in the red team.

    Its like this for me: OR remove Dday. OR improve it so the sides are fifty fifty.

    Ps: Dday is like a worse version of haloOutpost, which I think has also been removed because of the difference between the Red and Blue spawn.

    The problem is we were like 3 or 4 to build it and there were Niek__ ; Jared ; me and maybe darkchaosknigh but i dont remember. But for niek and jared they left the community if I am not wrong and to fix the problem of "water" the thing to do and I just had the idea on reading this topic is to remake the Red ship to make it more big in longer and make it coming not into the beach ( like: --R-> ||Be|| B ) but from left to right and put all on the longer jumper which will make all the longer of the beach and maybe bring closer the ship to the beach. :grinning:

    If you understand my idea just remake it in a better english than my :>

    Translation - The problem is that there were just 3 to 4 builders making the map. There was me (daniellazer2902), Niek__, Jared, and maybe darkchaosknigh, but I don't remember. Niek and jared left the community if I'm (daniellazer2902) not wrong. I (daniellazer2902) just had an idea to fix the problem of the water after reading this thread. The idea is to remake the red spawn ship to make it bigger and longer and to make it coming into the beach (--R-> ||Be|| B ) but going parallel to it, not straight forward, towards it. Also, make the jump pads go further and to combat this, make the beach longer and bring the ship closer to the shore.


    I really like this idea. The only thing is that they would pretty much have to remake the whole map and that would put lots of work on the builders. I know you made the map, but you know. That would be the ideal for this map, but if they don't want to remake it completely, they could just make small adjustments like taking out the other boats and just making the beach longer and the red spawn boat bigger.

    Like I tried to said if we are lazy and it's normal we only can remake the red boat to make it like the boat on the right side ( from redspawn ) and put it parrallel :> to the beach with some jumper on the way so peoples won't be spawnkilled by coming only by mid but on every side of the map :grinning:

    When I'm red, I just go Navy Seal and jump into the water and kill from there.

    You do have a point. With my ISO I can aim and hit red inside their ship from the cliffs right outside blue spawn...

    Maybe I need to be nerfed? Take away one of my legs so I have to hop around or something?
