1.7 or 1.8?

    Been playing loads of mcdreams and stuff, and I've been playing on 1.8, I win most fights and don't lag fps wise but whats better for pvp, soup in particular. Most of my team tell me to go on 1.7 but i can't tell the difference :l

    I am unsure about the fps difference, but 1.7 is the best version for pvping. To improve your frame rate, I would download optifine if you haven't already.

    Theres the obvious difference in blocks and mechanics, but for PvP I'd advise 1.8 as it has much better optimisation.
    Also, can you still connect with 1.7? I thought that it was outdated and unsupported by the servers.
    Heres the version history, you can use it to compare the versions yourself.
    Found this as well, a comparison of 1.7 and 1.8 (it's satire but does show some relevant comparisons)

    I don't know for brawl since I don't play it but yeah think i'm gonna stick with 1.7

    Oh right, assumed you where talking about Brawl Servers, good decision to stick with 1.7, and try Optifine, good suggestion @Oracle

    I prefered 1.7.
    1. Fps: I had around 180 fps when Brawl was 1.7, when it changed I had 100.
    2. PvP: I think 1.7 pvp is better, for example with the blockhits, in the 1.7 you are able to see your blockhits, in the 1.8 you aren´t able to see it 100%.
    3. Mechanics: In that point I prefer the 1.8. It has a lot of nice new mechanics.

    It´s my experience with the versions, you dont have to agree with my opinion.
