I just saw @ragewolf120YT 's thread about how he doesn't like people complaining about people using donor guns for no reason (here) so I want to make a thread about different strategies to combat each donor gun. This thread will solely be about the donor guns and their pros and cons, and not about if a gun is too over powered or under powered. I just wanted to say that because I don't want anyone jumping to conclusions and just replying with something like, "Stop making threads about donor guns. They're fine." Without further ado, here we go.

    -The Minigin-
    minigun_2.jpg

The minigun is a weapon with a very high amount of damage with very close range. It shoots at an extremely high pace and each bullet does a considerably high amount of damage for the fire rate. If you're a person that aims for killstreaks like EMP's or Nukes, I highly suggest against this gun if you don't have the scavenger perk. From personal experience, I can say that sometimes, it can take about half a clip (64) of ammo to kill somebody. At that rate, you will only get two kills per life.

This gun should really only be used on small maps or maps that have lots of tight corridors, like firingrange, amrak, summit, or dharan. These maps all have very small pathways so the minigun can just wipe out a large group of people very fast, if at close enough range. One time on firingrange_infect, I got at least six kills in two seconds tops. This gun kills fast. On big maps, there is almost no chance for someone using the minigun. It'stop range to kill someone with using a reasonable amount of ammo is about 12 blocks. Anywhere past that is a no go for me.

To combat the minigun, the best things to do is to say away from the shotguns. They are the absolute worst choice to try to kill a minigunner because there is such a low chance that you have the reflexes to fire fast enough to kill the minigunner. The best thing to do is use a sniper as every single sniper one-shots from a headshot.

Overall, the minigun is a tactical weapon for people that have scav and used on small maps.

    -The Ray Gun or Demolisher-
    cod-ray-gun-facts.jpg

The ray gun or demolisher is a very sniper-like gun because of it's high amount of damage and extremely deadly accuracy at long ranges. It does a considerable amount of damage. To be honest, I would definitely not use this gun in TDM or CTF because of the small amount of ammo. Also, it never one-shots, and is about the same as the l118a or the barret. The gun only has 16 ammo total, with a maximum of eight kills per life without scav or a secondary weapon. I would stay away from the ray if you don't have scav because of the very small amount of ammo.

On infect, I use this gun every single game. It one-shots zombies and paired with scav, will last the whole game. The only chance that you won't do well with scav is if you waste too many shots trying to kill the root zombie.

To combat this on TDM or CTF, pretty much any high leveled gun works. I would say shotguns are the worst against the ray, but they're still not bad. The best class has to be automatics though. They have a large amount of ammo and can kill the person before they have enough time to shoot a second shot.

Overall, the ray should only be used on infect.

    -The Crossbow-
    1-14191_Tac_Elite_Crossbow_LARGE.jpg

The crossbow is a very good weapon. It has a large (enough) amount of ammo for a good amount of kills per life and does an extremely high amount of damage. It will kill someone if they stand close to the blast and will kill the person if they are hit with an arrow. A headshot will automatically kill the person and set them back to spawn, with the arrow still in them. It will explode before the person has a chance to move and will kill any person at spawn without spawn resistance.

This weapon is to be used on small maps, or maps with small pathways. This is because the people don't have much time to react to the arrow flying towards them and might get hit or killed by the blast. The all time best map for the cbow is amrak due to the one block thick path, leading to the opposing side. Also, amrak has tight corridors that are great for camping with the cbow. Large maps are a turn-off for this weapon because of the small likelihood that someone will step very close to an arrow on the ground or get hit by one in the air. They will have a large amount of time to react and move out of the arrow's path before it hit's them.

This gun also has some major downsides to it. Like in regular Minecraft, you are slowed when you charge the bow. This leaves you right in harms way for anyone with a good aim. Since you are practically immobile, you are a sitting duck for the enemy team. Also, the arrow doesn't have much range, so on big maps, a cbower is an easy target. I will only say the worst way to kill someone using the cbow because the two best ways are nearly the same. The worst way to kill a cbower is to use a shotgun. This is because the cbow will definitely kill you if you are hot by an arrow. With shotguns, they need to have a close range to kill someone. The cbower can easily shoot many arrows in quick succession that are right in front of them. This gives a high chance of killing you (with the shotgun) because of the many blasts from the arrows on the ground or from a direct hit.

Overall, the cbow is better (But not needed) with scav and should be used on small maps to be effective.

    -The LAW-
    Rocket_Launchers.PNG
The LAW is a very rocket-launcher-esque gun. It has a very high (32) amount of ammo and is a one-hit-kill if directly hit. It does shoot very slowly though. It takes about a full two seconds to get to the other side of a fairly small map. This gives the enemy a very large amount of time to move out of the way or to hide behind cover.

There really is no "best type of map" to use this gun on. It is good on both large and small maps alike. There are other guns that might be better on both types of maps like snipers for big maps and automatics or shotguns for small maps. I guess the worst map to use it on is warsong because of how big it is and how long it takes the rockets to reach the intended target.

There are many ways to combat the LAW. A sniper of long-range automatic is the best choice against it on big maps. They will kill the person using the LAW faster than the rocket can reach them. The rockets are easily dodgeable if you have fast reflexes. You can also just run around so they will have to predict where you are going to be by the time the rocket gets to them.

Overall, this is just a somewhat not very useful gun (it's not completely useless). It is just a sort of replacement for a better gun at lower levels.

This concludes my large thread on the donor guns. The only reason for leaving out the flamethrower is because it's really a joke of a gun. It has a terrible range, damage amount, and amount of ammo. It is just used to annoy people rather than to get kills. Anyway, I am just sick and tired of people saying "Mini noob!!!11!"in chat because someone with the mini somehow killed them on a big map. Just because someone gets killed by a donor gun, they shouldn't have the right to say the other person's a noob for using it. I mean, I would want a good gun for paying irl money.

Anyway, what do you think? Do you agree with my thread? Reply below!

    Loved your review!
    +1 on pictures
    +1 content

    Very nicely laid out.

PS-I still like the ISO noob vs mini noob. 1 shot 1 kill.

The Flamethrower was called out as needing a buff.

Look me up, when you are online, and I'll buy you a Ray or Mini.

    1. Make sure your PC can handle fps-drops
    2. Take a random gun
    3. Aim at the Flamethrower-user
    4. Try not to laugh
    5. Shoot
    I think there's a problem with the 'How-to-combat' part.
    - One thing is, you will encounter the problem ingame, and you can't choose a gun.
    - And the other thing is, it's not the gun, but the tactic: How do I attack? The answer totally depends on map, guns, target, other people, time left etc.

My advise is, for any donorgun, camper or high-level target, to sneak around the player and fire some bullets in the ass.

    Still a great guide though.

No, I don't think I will. It is pretty much a useless weapon and no one really uses it seriously.

Anyway, thanks guys! I really appreciate your compliments c:

Make sure to buy Scavenger first. This is a perk which makes you able to gain more ammo per kill ( 1/4th of the ammo to be precise ). When buying this perk, any in-game gun has already been made better.
When choosing between Mini, Law, Ray and Cbow, I'd suggest Mini and ray for you, as you don't play War too much.

    So now about your guide...
Too awesome, can't add anything better except for some spelling errors.

I feel like my only donator gun enemy is the minigun. Even though I have quite learned to tackle them even on close range focusing my python at their heads. I highly suggest using Python towards them rather than most primaries.
Why? Python shoots it's 9 bullets in around 3 seconds or so (haven't checked the wiki), this interval of bullets your goal is to hit in the head once or twice. It's faster than most snipers and have a bigger change of taking out the minigunner before you're dead

But minigun + superarmor should like be banned xD
