Mc-War School Day 1

    So since I didn't feel like playing today, I decided to share my own Mc-War practice schedule with the community.

    I'll make a new School Day once in a while focusing on a new thing that I want area you should work on. This is not done in any particular order. Keep in mind that I am not perfect and I am not master of any of these areas, if I should say so I am still working on all areas.
    My School isn't about getting one of those fancy kdrs[​IMG]
    This is how I base skill and maybe you think of it in an other way.

    So today I'll be focusing on that one area, that most Mc-War pros has to master when going through their carreer. You may have guessed cause it is

    It's known in many different shapes and colors, according to your rp, but you still recognize it by two things
    The deathly design, and the rain of bullets
    If you like it or hate it, your teacher does NOT recommend this gun. Even if you only use it in FFA's
    If you nuke with this gun, do not feel special. The overpoweredness of this gun makes it really easy to steer and use which makes you used to it's magic, as said before, we are not concentrating on fancy kdr's but on skill, if you're only looking after a fancy kdr, this is not your school.
    So far you've learned the first step of this lesson "Avoid it"
    The next thing we're gonna learn is the hardest thing to learn: HOW TO TACKLE IT?
    The Minigun is a weapon that has always existed in the mcwar universe, there has been a lot of different kinds of users and styles with it, but the most used, and the most "un-skill-ful" is the
    RUN AROUND AND SPRAY EVERYTHING THAT MOVES
    We're going to look on how every weapon class can take down this gun on different ranges

    Long Range:
    Automatic Weapons: Assault rifles all come with an aimed accuracy of 0.2, this is over 10 times as accurate as an aimed minigun, which makes your change of hitting the minigunner bigger, no matter where you hit him you still have a huge advantage when it comes to the accuracy. Thus the minigun still has two other advantages on you, 1. Unlimited clip. 2. Crazy firerate.
    Every single non-donor weapon has to reload, though the minigun NEVER has too, this means that the minigun can spray on you, 'till he is out of bullets while you can only spray on him 'till your magazine is out of bullets, this means that you need to be more precise with your aim, and not wasting bullets, you will be able to get him somehow. The firerate takes down the fact that your aim is better. Let's see it in mathematical way. If you shoot 100 bullets, that all hit, he shoots a 100 bullets where half hit. It's gonna be 100/50, now damage isn't a big deal here, because well even though which kind of automatic a 100 bullets will damage more than fifty minigun bullets. Though if his gun shoots faster than yours, his 50 bullets will have hit, when maybe you've only shot out 70. Now you advantage with accuracy gets lowered, another factor is the knockback the minigun bullets deal, will manipulate your aim, which makes it even HARDER for your bullets to hit.

    Coming down to the final and special advantage you have is aim. Train your aim to get more precise and especially hit in the head area, because that damages more. This is hard steps but it's definitely the step that most guns can deal the minigun with is.

    Burst Weapons: The only burst weapons ingame are the Famas, Skullcrusher and M16. Since the M16 is the weakest, sorry to say, but it is unqualified, due to it's change of taking out a minigunner is so low, that it all comes down to the M16 guy having some dank skills, that are more crazy than the skills most Mc-War guys possess. The Famas and the so-called "Skully" are basically the same weapon, the difference most people see between these guns are the damage sector, where the SkullCrusher has a much more superior aspect than the Famas. The Famas do though have 6 bullets more, which is equivalent to 2 more burst per magazine isn't a big thing. We are not gonna focus on that in School, since we mostly focus on 1v1's rather than clutches, and the case of using 30 bullets to take out one person, is let's face, 1:a billion.
    This has been a lot of talk about the burst weapons, let's get on how you would deal with a minigunner using these weapons. A burst weapon's way of working is much like an Automatic Weapon's way of working.
    The burst weapon puts in it's bullets fired out in a burst of 3 bullets, the bullets follow the same trail which gives it a higher efficiency when it comes to accuracy than the Automatic Weapons. Though the con of the Burst Weapon is that the bursts come out slower than every single bullets does with an automatic weapon.
    When using a burst weapon I can only say, that you should focus on seeing the players future move and shoot each burst, to get the most efficient burst.

    That's pretty much it for burst weapons

    Snipers and Shotguns: Since both of these kinds of weapons are in my opinion. the hardest weapon classes to fight of a minigunner, I will tell it how it is.
    Shotgun: Hide in cover and let the minigunner know you're there, when he comes close enough to you, you take and jump out of your cover to then shoot out your shotgun. If enough bullets hit in the shotgun's radius of bullet-span ( That slang :wink: ) to knock him out, that's it. If not, then, well, pray your last prayers and start begging for mercy.
    Bolt Snipers: Huh, this is a hard one, it all comes out on timing and reactions. The reaction part is shooting the first bullet, since when the minispray hits you, your aim is a no-no, only luck can save you then. The timing is how you send the bullet out, most people using minigun are used to walking forward to their enemies, which is a good thing here, you just have to focus the bullet to hit exactly where you want it to hit.
    Semi-Automatic Sniperrifles: There's not much to say, it's kind of the same thing with the Burst Weapons, just a little harder due to firerate.

    Overall I think that if you are using a sniper, I'd much prefer going to switch to my pistol if the range isn't super long, the most preferred pistols of mine is the Desert Eagle and the Python. Which I bet is also your favorite ones. The reason of using the pistols instead is the reason being, that the Pistols shoot faster than most of the snipers rifles, which is really your best change of actually getting a minigunner down.

    Close Range:
    Using an automatic/burst weapon I would go out of aim and try my best to have my crosshair at the minigunner, besides that reaction is the best part of who fires the first bullet.
    I really explained anything there are about the shotguns above
    Snipers is either getting REALLY lucky, but using a pistol is my highest recommendation.

    Overall all I can say is try to be focused on 1st: Hitting precisely and 2nd: Focus on your reactions



    But hey, you're probably thinking, well you've taught me how to tackle it, why I shouldn't use it and just that I overall shouldn't use it. But on the maps and gamemodes I usually use it on, which gun should I switch it out with. Well I'm glad you asked, a quick firing gun like the Lamentation or P90, though I know both guns are disliked a lot by most high ranked players, the Skullcrusher is probably the most preferred gun by the ones I've talked with. But it's all about taste and you could also just try out new tactics and guns where you usually thought the minigun treated you well.

    Mini users tend to rush a lot which leaves them exposed to Snipers.

    Also the range and accuracy of the mini at distance isn't that great.

    I use tracer rounds so even if I can't see the shooter I can see where he is shooting from and nail him with a long shot.

    Though it really is a great guide Evil. This makes new players that, IF they ever come on the forums, able to counter the ( overused ) minigun as many, many players / noobs use it... like it's only $5!! That nothing for an overused OP gun that makes you nuke instantly when also buying sca... wait no I've said too much.

    Yeah, but I won't start bashing on donor stuff, since Brawl also needs money to run this AMAZING server, that's why the next episode is going to be Aiming and Movement :wink:
