Staff Interview ~ Lord_Roke

This is my second part in the interview series.

Q: If you could abandon your current role as an SMod, and pick ANY other role, what would it be?
A: Sometimes it would help if SMod had a few more permissions, but I think I would stick to my current rank. Administrator has many helpful abilities, but it is also a lot of responsibility and I'm not sure if I'm ready for that.

Q: What is your favorite memory on Brawl?
A: Playing on MC-War about 2 years ago with my old clan GSG and many other friends. It was truly an amazing time.

Q: What is the hardest part of your job as an SMod?
A: Arguing with players who are reluctant to listen to any arguments. Also, staying polite when players are demanding something extremly aggressive.

Q: What is your daily routine like?
A: It mainly depends on whether I have school or not. On school days I'm sometimes able to check the forums on my phone before I leave for school, if not I do that after school. When I start my computer I first check all Slack groups and then open Chrome. My home pages are Google, Brawl Forums, Youtube and my E-Mail provider. I first go through the private conversations and alerts on the Forums and then I check the forums reports. After that I usually play some games, but I'm also on Teamspeak while doing that and replying to messages.

Q: Besides Minecraft, what is your favorite game to play?
A: My favourite game is always changing, right now it would be Rome II Total War. In general, I like Strategy games and I'm often playing games like Anno 2070, Stronghold and Age of Empires III.

Q: Is there anything you see yourself really looking forward to coming to Brawl soon?
A: Of course I'm looking forward to War 2.0, but as there is still no release date for it right now I'm rather hyped for Wild West. The concept is very interesting and the map we built for it is just plainly amazing.

Q: What's your favorite Brawl server and why?
A: Right now it is Minestrike because even though it's the smallest servers it is a lot of fun to play. What I really like about it is that there are no overall statistics, they are reset every 10 rounds. Means no matter how long you played, you have the same chances as a player who just joined for the first time. Overall my favourite server would be MC-War. It was one of the first servers of Brawl and the first one I played. It really got me into Minecraft and I played it regularly for about 2 years. Recently I became inactive on it, but I still join sometimes.

Q: If you could go back to the start of your moderation career, is there anything you would do differently?
A: I would definitely use Teamspeak more. When I was accepted as Moderator I didn't even have TS3 and it took almost a year before I started using it regularly. Teamspeak is great to talk to players and other staff members and many important topics regarding the servers are discussed on there.

Q: If you could meet one staff member IRL, who would it be?
A: If former staff counts as well, I would want to meet @LeTim because we have talked to eachother all the time during the last year and he is extremly funny. If only current staff counts, it would be @18kss, just so I can finally hear his magnificent voice . We have known eachother forever and we were promoted to PvP Survival Moderators together.

Q: What is the weirdest complaint you’ve ever gotten?
A: There were many weird complaints, but I don't remember all of them. Recently we got a few reports about players spoiling the plot of Star Wars 7, these were quite funny (Dumbledore dies!). Another weird complaint was a recent forums report: A thread was reported for being a duplicate of itself.

Q: If you could push out any change to MC-War, what would it be?
A: Obviously War 2.0, but that is probably too ambitious. So I would rework all guns, making them all less powerful and reducing the differences between low and high level guns. I would also make it so the amount of ammunition can be adjusted individually for each weapon and and give automatics and SMGs more ammo
